Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
Yes, but the beach party bunch are not marching into STV and attending SGE's RP event. Quite the opposite, the RPers attending this beach party are off doing their own thing and the trolls are choosing to attend and not respecting the events concept. You cannot claim a location as yours at the exclusion of everybody else, no matter how long you've been doing so for. They're not there to piss in your boots. It's about mutual respect and I think it's shameful you can't see that.

It is actually about occupying a place for long and I think it's shameful you can't see that xD If you have tried to kick the Blade RPers out of that tavern, just cause you liked the place (before the Shattering...shattered it), you'd have been frowned upon by everyone who has been RPing there for all those years. Same goes with other taverns or bars, the council hall, the SI7 HQ, the trolls' territory etc. You're barging in someone else's place so to say. And let's face it. You wouldn't really want to go on a beach party at the coast of STV...for reasons so obvious that they're not even worth the mentionGeneviève wrote:Yes, but the beach party bunch are not marching into STV and attending SGE's RP event. At any rate, my first post, where all this began, was a word of advice. It wasn't meant as an order or threat. Those planning that event should be aware of it and that's what I tried making clear by posting. It's up to them to decide what they'll do. Shrogan is aware of it now, so there's no reason for me to keep this up ^^

Just a brief note! We're going right down to Booty Bay, and for the criticism on "how unrealistic that is, that you might quake in fear" we live in Duskwood. We're going by gryphon, and obviously we won't fly above the troll kingdom - we'd navigate around it. The coast we attend also, is very bare and there is a very large stretch of it - there're no dangerous creatures in the water, or anything!

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
I'd fully agree with you Mandui, if I believed this event was a sinister OOC plot to remove SGE from STV. But it's quite clearly not. I'm trying to prove RPers are reasonable people who can work together for everyone's mutual benefit, rather than selfish agressive egotists out to exploit an area and deny it's use to everyone else.
I agree, perhaps controversially, that it is a ridiculous place to host a beach party but it is not my decision to make, as usual I'll vote with my feet by not attending rather than imposing my opinion on them by trying to ruin their event with PvP.
I hope the Blade's staff would agree with me that they'd have willingly shared the location if there was no other solution, but there always is. For instance hosting the inn on different nights. Just as SGE could avoid that particular location for one night. Not forever, on one occassion. But it appears the hosts of this are asking for too much, and it's a pity.

- Anyway, could we stop with the non-constructive debate? It's just from my opinion, elitest and hypocritical comments being thrown about! Thread wasn't intended, for people to flame at each other over a topic that doesn't relate to themselves.

You ignore the last 2 pages of random spam from everyone else and point out my one-liner after I've been on topic this far? Caps didn't work to make a point after all, sowwy :/
P.S.: Stop derailing the thread. Stick to either the beach party or the concept itself.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
My face is red from my palms after some things said throughout here, but I won't bother really (despite the retardedness at some points), to keep this on track. Good luck with your event and best of luck with the overall community. Fully supporting the overall enterprise, but for the beach party.. eh. Yeeeeah... You go into a jungle controlled by savage, hostile trolls, holding a picnic basket, sunglasses and an umbrella - I can see why you'd expect to party unhindered ;P If anything, it'd be ooc to be there, know you're there and -not- attack.
And Gen, I've had the exact opposite experience, when it comes to SGE vs. Alliance, in W-PvP. Certain "brave" rp'ers from Alliance tunnelvisioning lowbies and people in rp gear with 50k hp. The grass is no greener on your side of the fence, be sure of that.
I do have a question to the whole of the organizing party, though - I'm a bit out of date with how situations are currently on Alliance side, so please excuse any oversights: Do the Spherites (not narrowing down to the guild itself, but all of ye ol' Alliance cult / dark rp circle) no longer dabble in Duskwood? It's no "claim" or "doubt", just intrigues me there was no hint towards them being around the area in between the "small town concept". Have they moved elsewhere? Or?
I liked the biweekly caravan idea, had something similar in my thoughts for horde side, but never got round to properly putting much thought to it. Kudos ^^
Again, best of luck with the community

The Sphere disbanded.
Edit: Which was the only guild that did cultism and tended to be in Duskwood. As far as I know.

Spherites including myself, still inhabit Duskwood - some are found in the guild 'Of Duskwood', whilst others just tend to RP with us lot.

I was talking to a former spherite, and he said that the locals would have noticed the disappearance of spherites walking through the town in their tabards. Anyone RPing this out so far?
