And with all due respect, then that's somewhat bad roleplay. Not to respect the sense both in actual lore, and server lore.
A bunch of townfolks going to such a dangerous and hostile plays for a simple beachparty?
But that's my opinion, of course. And I'll leave it up to Shrogan and his... minions? To do with you all. :3

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
I can't speak for the rest of RPers who were..'Upset?' by the STV PvP with the SGE. I love PvP and didn't really have much trouble with it, I simply logged my level 85 Gen and healed the majority through it.
The issue wasn't with the PvP at all, the issue in my mind and what drove everyone to distraction was that the only people on our side who were slain were low level characters caught in the crossfire, individuals who I'll hope you will agree, are near impossible to heal. This isn't a SGE are terrible PvPers couldn't kill us trolololol post, it was simply a matter of numbers, we outnumbered them by a fair amount and it showed.
This wouldn't have been a problem if it had ended there but after we'd all ressed up and started RPing the aftermath of the assault, a newly ressed wave of PvP geared atrocities stormed in. Then we had a stand off that seemed to involve everyone doing their best to ignore OOC gankers from non-SGE guilds while trying to arrange some kind of duel. Knights! *sighs with exhasperation*
Now, I'm not sure what their justification for using top of the range (for the time) Horde equipment is but afterwords I was told by Mandui that you only used it because we had not told you beforehand we would be there? If that is true, and I hope it's just misunderstanding on her part, then I am ashamed of one of the most immersed RPPvP guilds on the server. I often get the feeling Bloodwind is PvP first, RP a very distant second and that is their own choice, but SGE have a reputation for quality RP, and it would be a shame if you began to spoil that because RPers new to the realms...politics(?) Didn't realise informing you was a nessecity.
Leave those RPers to host their RP the way they intend to do so. And if you can't, then expect the same futile, yet biting, criticism of your own way of doing things.
The Sword spent a great deal of it's time moving from one spot to the next, RPing a response to PvP attacks that weren't mutually planned. It says a lot about the futility of RP-PVP when people can't even log across to arrange a decent fight before wading in, killing the few members who happen to be online, then claiming they've conquered territory. It's a shame, because I love PvP, but it's reputation is being ruined by people who can't act reasonably during the heat of the moment and worse cannot admit fault long after the moment has passed.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
I don't get wtf this "Let them play their way and stop whining that they don't wanna PVP with you" thing came from....
Imagine this: I have a house. A big house. I have any awesome garden, big one full of awesomeness. Best house and garden in the world.
You're my mortal enemy. We live in a place where I'm allowed to shoot trespassers if they refuse to leave my property. You tell me you want to have a party in my garden, and I tell you no, cause it's my garden and I don't like you. You go there anyways and have your party.
Sure, there's the odd chance that I might not notice you because my garden is rather big and you only plan on using the far end of it, but if I find out you're partying in my garden, you can bet your sorry ass that I'm gonna shoot you, and all whining from you afterwards is 100% unjustified.
We're on an RP-PVP server because of a clear choice that we want the immersion of being able to assault the enemy/be assaulted by them whenever faring through warzones. The last 3-4 pages have been filled with pretty much people saying "I wanna play on an RP-PVP server but I don't want to adhere to the game mechanic ruleset put forth by the PVP part", and then deciding that if the SGE attack your stupid beach party, they are meta gaming and bad RPers cause they know everything in the world? It doesn't work that way.
If anything, you're the poor RPer because you insist on having peaceful beach parties in hostile enviroments deep within enemy territories. Go to Tanaris or Westfall if you want to have a beach party, both have better beaches, are easier to reach for low levels (not many hostile mobs at Tanaris beach, westfall is lower leveled), AND they are not controlled by fanatic lunatics that consider the torture and sacrifice of you and your loved ones to be the greatest glory in the world.
TL;DR: Stay out of Shrogan's garden.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
Firstly, you did misunderstand what I said indeed. I said that since the whole thing wasn't planned, you can barely have any demands from the other side's gear when they engage you in combat. They have no obligation to wear gear that suit your wishes when you're the one barging in without a warning to begin with. Apart from that, I wasn't present during those battles. I logged in only afterwards and heard about it from the rest. So whatever occured during wasn't even remotely dependant on me.Geneviève wrote:Now, I'm not sure what their justification for using top of the range (for the time) Horde equipment is but afterwords I was told by Mandui that you only used it because we had not told you beforehand we would be there? Secondly...I fail to see how Bloodwind is related to any of this? o_O I gave my input when I logged on my troll that day as a SGE member, not as a Bloodwind one.

Bloodwind is always related to anything that has to do with PvP and RP in one. That's how it is!

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
For the love of rp, can't you just get the fuck down to that beach party -(Why would you have a beach party in the first place??), and accept that there is a chance that you might get assaulted by Trolls, as you are evidently walking through a thick jungle that is inhabited by bloodthirsty barbarian Trolls?
It ain't so bloody hard, and if you should get ganked (Which I frankly do not expect SGE to do.), you ask nicely if they could stop as it is quite disturbing.
I only see more rp-opportunities in having both sides being realistic, in the manner that you might risk getting attacked by walking in hostile territory, and that SGE might get rp out of finding you.
And I honestly don't see how this subject has managed to get to get the majority of these pages, it is stupidly simple. - Go somewhere hostile, and you might risk getting attacked.

If you're discussing a game of beach volley ball... I'll be sure to bring some female canons, or possibly a handful of sexy heretics. Any of your choice!

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
It’s not my beach party and I won’t be attending because I to believe it is silly. However, I’m not a hypocrite and I believe we should respect their decision to RP their way. We preach on and on about how if you don’t like the Council (yes I’m using this as an example, I’m not opening up on them and they are in no way connected ) don’t RP with them. I choose to do so and enjoy it, I choose to engage in PvP and enjoy it. Others do not, they may enjoy RPPvP in a certain context but on another occasion they may prefer not to. I’m not making any demands, I’m just trying to appeal to your common sense. If god-emoting is wrong because it dictates how your opponent’s character develops then surely so does attacking them in PvP?
Secondly, it’s not Shrogan’s garden, its Blizzards garden.
Finally, Mandui I made no demands about gear, nobody did. And, again, Bloodwind had nothing to do with it. They were an example used to compare and contrast. Please stop being so defensive about this. It’s not an attack on you, Bloodwind, the Council, or SGE, it’s an observation and a plea to let other people, with no connection to me or you, get on with their RP in the manner they choose to do so whilst we get on with our RP in the manner we choose to do so.
I simply don’t care who wins, you can corpse camp me until the end of time. Other people do, and what right do we have to upset them? What is the point in arguing about this again and again? What is the point in ganking people who simply don’t want to fight back or react? What do we gain by doing so? I’ve not lost anything by being killed, time perhaps, but I’ve enjoyed the time spent fighting back. So all I’ve truly lost is respect for certain hypocrites. D:
I’ll quote myself from another thread just to reinforce the point, “Who cares who wins”? Certainly not me.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
You are deciding to involve yourself with a concept the moment you interact with them in the location they have chosen to occupy ^^ Someone may claim not wanting to RP with the council, but attending the meetings in the keep hall negates said claim by default. Just like someone may claim that they don't want to PvP with the trolls, but decides to intrude their territory. People do have the right to RP the way they desire but that goes for everyone. Like it was said enough times by now, the trolls have ICly claimed the Vale for years now. Marching (or flying, doesn't matter) in there without the intention to PvP won't change the fact that ICly the trolls are bound to maintain their RP attitude, which is undisputed aggressive towards everything that isn't blue and lacks tusks.
Lastly, your example about Bloodwind was a bit out of the blue and made no sense in that context, since there was no indication for it being an example. I wasn't being defensive, I was being confused ^^
