Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
That...is silly. You're planning to go through troll territory and expect them to remain at a distance and wave as you pass by? How ICly realistic is that? It'd be like allowing a horde group walk though Duskwood >_>Mortima wrote:When it's unplanned 'RPPVP', that's when I lose respect.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
Alright, the argument you're putting up is 'how realistic is that'? Alright, so how realistic is it for the Second Gurubashi Empire to travel from Stranglethorn to Fenris Isle - form an alliance with the Horde, manage to walk through all of those alliance territories then claim victory, and walk home back through all of those territories untouched?
I've had so many encounters with SGE randomness, that it does my head in. It's a planned, organised social event that doesn't want to be disturbed by randomers who dress in full PVP gear and then spam chat, before spilling blood.
If I wanted an RPPVP event, I'd simply ask for it; I'm not going to jeopardize it, because some pvpers see some easy flesh.

Did you ever ask how the SGE got to Gilneas ICly? No? Then I won't give you the answer for them, sorry. You're free to keep assuming things, but those assumptions aren't the truth as long as you don't ask for an explanation.Mortima wrote:Alright, the argument you're putting up is 'how realistic is that'? And I just advised you to let them know about it before there's another herpderp OOC whispers drama like last time. No reason to go all apeshit on me for that. Do whatever you like, but ICly it doesn't make sense, whether you like it or not.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
That answers my question to them having an alliance with the Horde, how? =S To be honest, it's being highly judgemental stating that "you should change your event entirely, and turn it into a RPPVP event - just so it makes sense." That's what I'm getting, and a note: it's not being 'apeshit'. It's merely a response to this confrontation.

The problem with SGE isn't when they attack you, it's when you successfully kill them and they log alts to /w you abuse

I just dislike the fact of their event crashing, even when given notification that the event creators don't want it being thwarted.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
I didn't expect a beach party as event but it sure sounds fun!
Anyways
If Mortima reveals that he doesn't want any pvp in this event then that should be respected.
Edit: because I don't think it's a matter of what would be more realistic ( in wow terms ) or immersion but instead a matter of it is the Duskwood community their event and that's that. How bad it might sound it some eyes, it is the choice of the creators and they are free to do so for as far as I can see.

If you're walking into an area that a large number of opposite faction players have IC'ly been calling home for more than 3 years of play, then I don't see how you can expect not to be attacked. Were you planning to pretend that the Second Gurubashi Empire doesn't exist?

I'm a Hordie, and I don't randomly wander through STV for fear that they might brutally torture me. x)

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
Right, so let's get this straight! I've organised an event with officers, that could boost the community's reputation; we've set in stone, that we don't want any RPPVP... Sooo, you're telling -us- we have to have it; otherwise it's not realistic, even though we have trolls parading metals that aren't even obtainable in the regions of the empire. If this is a matter of realism, then by all means: I will file a list for you, on everything unrealistic that has been done in the past. Oh, and another query - the SGE have eyes everywhere, and know where to be at all times? Yes?
I've discussed with officers, and we're planning on going by gryphon to avoid any 'trolling' (lol see wut i did ther) and to actually enjoy ourselves - instead of succumbing to judgemental RP, that is being forced upon us. Note: We will also be right down in Southern Stranglethorn.

If you want RPPVP, arrange it with us - don't randomly run in, crash our event, then prance away. You don't see alliance RPers, sighting a major event for the Horde and running in with a army of full 85 PVPers.

I don't think they would take OOC knowledge to IC purely to crash an event. :O I think they meant that if you stumbled across them, they'd be compelled to fight you. \o/ I happened to be on a Human when some of the OotRB were out scouting, and the Alliance actually recruited people in the zones general chat to take them out. x)

We don't intend on stumbling into them at all, yet I have a feeling in my gut - that we will be assaulted.

guys can we please keep to the topic of the Duskwood Project, rarther then going into a long tangent rant about every opposite faction guild that has ruined RP for us with PvP,

Ariden makes a valid point - we never intended on making this thread, one where people can have a rant at our events; or throw out non-constructive criticism. Back to usual.

Anyway! Anyone interested in our 'beach party', and RPing in Booty Bay afterwards?

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
Point is, STV is troll territory IC. Planning a walk to the beach makes little sense if you're walking through enemy territory. Server lore does exist to make things interesting, so do try to talk to SGE. I just imagine it makes things better if people are communicating.

Re: The Duskwood RP community [A]
Hello ladies and gentlemen, long time no see! Haven't seen these forums in quite a while. But as it happens, here I am. As you may know, I currently lead the Second Gurubashi Empire and would like to state on behalf of the guild that people who cross the Vale, if seen throughout one of our patrols will be killed on sight.
For years we've been sitting in Stranglethorn and have proven to be hostile to just about every member of the Alliance we've had in. Our roleplay is centered around the safe-keeping and preservation of what we believe to be our "Holy land". And as you might guess, we are not keen on letting those whom we consider to be our mortal enemies, dictated by our God and Creator as so, running loose around the Vale, regardless of circunstances. Namely even for a beach party. To do so is too breaking our very own roleplay, which is too unfair on our end. Thus if you are found, then we will attack, otherwise, we will not. Simple as that. And it may so happen that even if we do, we may be pushed back, as Faralan stated.
And damn, I still can't believe we lost to KoS. You've not heard the last of us yet, Faralan!
Regardless, the Gurubashi's reaction to trespassing will remain as it is. We will attack Alliance in the Vale, regardless of event or not, unless the event itself is managed with us, that is, including the attack itself in the event. The Jungles of the South are Troll territory and we will keep on fighting to keep it so. We frequently raid the camps and the likes, only really staying away from Booty Bay and Grom'Gol. Everything else we happen to patrol in a rather regular fashion.
Having said this, there's the topic of Gilneas which was brought up. It is rather simple. We have actually ties with the Horde, given our past relations with the Darkspear and the current military pact which we have upheld with the Cult of Shadows, giving us more than enough reason to be there.
Moreover, there is too a religious reason for a Holy crusade against the Worgen, as we believe them to be Cursed by the Loa for attempting to summon forth the gift of Primalism And then there's just the reason that they are not Trolls. As for the way we have moved around so fast well, I will reveal it soon, as it is a part of a greater plot in the making.
Regardless, I hope this has been cleared. If you wish to set up an event in Stranglethorn feel free to do so. But again, do so at your own risk. You might be attacked and you might not be attacked.
I wish you all the best of luck folks
Have fun!

P.S. I see no sense in the dare of flying into an enemy territory for a "beach party".
Which for that matter, I think only goblins are doing so far, it's not a wide concept yet.
Curious to the sense in all that.
