The Azerothian Parliament ( Alliance ) An Idea

We as the players don't have the power to balance it. Even if each race has their own political body, doesn't mean they can tell people like Varian to fuck off and just sort stuff themselves.

So what the fuck is the point in role-playing.
I want to RP somebody who want's to have a united Alliance front , instead of the little "league of nations" where the strongest rule the rest.
It's basically the UN , where USA dominates everything because they have more of everything.
I don't need to read lore to know that about 300000 pages of previous lore states the arrogance of Night Elves and Dwarves. I don't use new lore which is created for profiteering , I use the original lore which created World of Warcraft and everything we play.

Ephitos, last I checked you're not a moderator. So you can't really say who is to go in to and answer on your posts. As much as you believe that is so.

As for me thinking its a bad idea: Because it is. Since it doesn't make sense. It's just a way for someone to try and "give power to more people, cause the current Councils take all the powah!", when no one is holding power just because of it. Its up to each person to work up to such "power". It's about respect and how much you've done for this realm and community. And appointing random people for a random parliament just to give some more people power, will just be silly.

WoW is not the real world. WoW is not a democracy, and no one has power in WoW just for the sake of it, but because he or she worked their way up to that amount of respect.

You can RP your character wanting a united Alliance front as much as you'd like. No one is stopping you. But it doesn't mean it will happen. And even if such a Council was made, it'd probably worsen the situation then make it better, as there would be more work, more drama, more problems.

It doesn't make sense because I clearly stated I want new people with new idea's to put forward for the Alliance as a whole.
The current councils have no power, only the power that people willingly give them ICly, or agree to give them.
I'm not trying to go "Oh Look I think I'l bypass every other council / senate meeting and create a new organ of power to manipulate everybody else -evil laugh-".
No on the contrary I state, that if 25 people meet monthly , and 25 creative RPer's who deserve to make some basic decisions for the Alliance that NOBODY else does, why shouldn't new people get that initiative?

Your contradiction appalls me.
So disband every council and Circle , disband the senate, because that creates drama and problems? And just have fun?
This "Parliament" ( Couldn't think of a better word ) isn't a grab at "power" even though there is no power in World of Warcraft. Just players agreeing to accept others in certain positions. I never said this 25 man body would RULE AZEROTH WITH AN IRON FIST AND CRUSH ALL THOSE WHO OPPOSE THEM, No I clearly stated they would be a less military led association / committee / parliament that does things nobody else does.





Some people like complex RP, so please don't speak on behalf of others.

Then do so, there are several people who want the differences between races and governments to end and to unite. But it is not happening, we as players cannot balance the Alliance. It's not how the lore is designed to play out. This entire game, ALL of it, started with Orcs & Humans and that's kinda where it's going to stay with a long list of supporting characters.

For some reason I think Ephitos and Etular might be related...

From reading through this weeping thread I can honestly say that even though you mean the best, you have done nothing what so ever to promote or even make your idea any more attractive to the rp community (In my eyes), only (in the lack of a better word) flamed other peoples posts in a "my way, or the highway" sort of fashion.

How much my opinion matters, I hardly care, I don't expect you or anyone else to read or give this post much thought.
But, only advice I can give you is -Do not- get "upset / angry" when other people decide to reply on your thread, it is a whole lot better than if nobody posted.

So in my closing words. Although I do see you've given this idea much thought, I believe that you haven't looked at it from another point of view (which would be beneficial).
The idea is simply too large and too complicated for people to actually bother with it, and (I'm sorry but) it is more likely that Etular settles on a guild idea than you get 25 people to show up several times in succession.

anyway. As julia said Rping is about having fun and if people have fun rping politcs then why stop them imo. It's not like its anyones right here to tell Ephitos he cannot rp this to be frank..yes he ca, if he gets the people etc who wish to do it I say let him fly away with it and give it a bash. As he said he only wishes to talk about stuff which no one else talks about.

Now pointe dó I suspect restricting the council Ephitos is a bad idea. Because IMO ( correct if wrong) they would make up a large proprotion of the people who like rping politics...well because they rp it. I myself love politics and have thrown my idea of parliment before simply because I like it and i think it would be fun to RP it.

Good luck with it if you want Ephitos I would definetly take part if it got going, my main concern would be you getting people and structuring right.

The reason we've been commenting is pretty much what Kristeas said.. I also did politics at university before switching degrees and the opening of my course was on the Evolution of Parliament. I saw Parliament, thought i'd offer my knowledge.
