[A] Campaign: Stromgarde Reclamation [28/1/13 - 31/1/13]

Thanks to everyone that showed up for day 1!

We had a lot of fun, I'll shove some screenshots in the main post tomorrow

Excellent battles today. They seemed to be well disciplined without the usual problems of people resurrecting mid battle. Perhaps it just seemed smoother because of Alliance superiority today, but it certainly went better than most.

The one suggestion I would have for those organising campaigns in the future is to vary the battle times from day to day. I was able to make it today, just, but 2000 is generally way too early for me. That's 7pm GMT, I'm rarely home from work before 6:30 and I have other things I'd prefer to do before coming online, like eating dinner. I understand that for someone who is on CET and gets home at 4pm, this is a good time, but holding the battles at different times means that most people will be able to make it some days.

Yeah it's a habit I have all the time tbh, I always move that thing around in rp or when ...well doing whatever. I swear I cut out 10 more minutes of footages with a whole lot more dizzying turning! xD

Yay, saw myself bouncing around in there! (well... the healthbar with my name above it at least) We were heavily heavily outnumbered, but still wPvP <3

I enjoyed the event. And recognised myself bouncing along the mountainside in an near endless skirmish with alliance. (At least, till 5:45, where another OOC-er plunges from the sky)

Massive thanks to everyone involved, both Horde and Alliance!
It was a very fun evening, and nice to see the turnup.

As the Horde was heavily outnumbered, Alliance and Horde command will be co-operating to find additional RP-PvP encounters tomorrow and the following nights to the larger battles (which will still happen) to create a more balanced environment where both sides can have equal fun.

Before this war is over, the green hills of Arathi will be painted red by the blood of our enemies. Do midor Anakar! AH-HOOM!

Edit: Also, to the Horde. Our sincere apologies for any OOC guilds that turned up. Stromgarde knows the frustration of OOCers that aim to ruin the immersion of Roleplayers.

Scuzy will not be joining the next fights, I'm afraid. It's kind of hard for me to justify my paladin fighting alongside dudes that keep on yelling "death to the living".

Standing on a roof in Hammerfall sure was fun with the rest of the Sin Belore but I think I'm going to declare Rystelle a soldier of fortune so I can go bash some skulls.

Enjoyed the RP part of the event. Was a shame about the ooc lot who kept killing rezzers. I got sick of trying to rez and getting camped. But I'll be there tonight, if i can.

Should be mostly Two Steps from Hell soundtracks that our guild has been hounding out for these situations.

They have a few huuuuuundred songs in that style, some more brutal, some sad, some simply serene and beautiful. Other artists I normally use for videos or such is "Audiomachine" "Gothic Storm" and "Future world music"
There is plenty more of them out there that pop up as options on youtube, it's hours and hours of browsing pleasure

Attention all!

There has been some slight changes of plans due to some difficulties in the organisation of things, so!

Tonight, the Alliance will march on Hammerfall and attempt to sack it, rather than the Horde marching to beat the Alliance back. Should the Alliance succeed, Hammerfall will be burnt to the ground and sacked (this has been cleared with Horde command).

Afterwards, we will split our forces into smaller groups that will move to various strategic locations over the Highlands and have smaller RP-PvP skirmishes at those location as opposed to a large battle.

In talks with Vangrel, he has given us the thumbs up to sack Hammerfall.

ICly, this makes sense as Hammerfall poses a threat in the Arathi Highlands, and as more and more Horde guilds leave it, it becomes more of a viable target. Why risk a two front war when you can eradicate one of the threats and move on to the next one?

Of course, we wouldn't want to do something that would cause OOC tension. Will this be an issue?

Erm, destroying an entire in game outpost seems kinda... odd.

Its still going to be there. I dunno, are you going to consider it Alliance territory? That would be a problem, effectively denying any Horde ever RPing there again.
If its just burn it down and retreat, then I guess I can live with that. Wooden buildings can be rebuilt and the state Hammerfall's buildings are in even make that a realistic option.

And besides, Vangrel doesn't speak for the Horde RP community in its entirety.

Besides, I think you should read between the lines. The Alliance IC purpose is to ransack Hammerfall - point is for the Horde to try and prevent that.

Nothing says it will actually be ransacked after tonight. It's an oppertunity, fun games. Without the involvement of Vangrel. Since Hammerfall isn't Forsaken territory.

So... you're saying, Hammerfall is no more unless we ask all the Horde ganker guilds to come help us out tonight?

I don't like this. You can't just decide somewhere is destroyed like this.

To be honest, without someone confirming to me that Hammerfall won't be Alliance territory and will instead just suffer damage I'll be ignoring the result both IC and OOC.

The sacking of Hammerfall has been done before, way back in the day.

But of course, our aim would be to sack the settlement and burn down the buildings. We wouldn't dream of considering it Alliance territory. We're not in the business of denying RP here, we're trying to create more RP.

I do not want to derive anyone of RP or having fun. There is also a chance that this course of action will provide more RP for you guys. It'd give you an excuse for retaliation?
