Re: [A] Campaign: Stromgarde Reclamation [28/1/13 - 31/1/13]
The last campaign was filmed horde side.
If I'm honest, the Alliance simply has a much bigger narrative stake in this, they have been preparing for this for weeks, perhaps months.
On horde side, however, most guys don't give a rats ass the forsaken are getting kicked out of Arathi. At this point it would make more sense for scuzy to fight on the alliance side then horde :3

It was a blast, we were all superhappy to scrap with some orcs and the fights were brilliant.
So here we go again, day two - another vid:

The IC coƶpertion among the Horde is sadly... Less smooth... But well, that is the Horde races for ya. Although it is a shame so many have to drop out because of it.
Is it that horrible to just have 'we don't want the Alliance to have this foothold so close to Silvermoon and the Undercity' as an IC reason to want in on one of the already rare (well, somewhat) RP-PvP events? Killing Shrike people in Krasarang Wilds is only amusing for a little while... Nor does it provide this much RP. I do not believe Solanum and Vangrel like each other IC, but that is RP too. :p

I definately agree with this. However, even as the organizer of the Alliance side of things, there's not much I can do about this.

Not really adressing anyone to 'GO FIX IT NOW!!' Because I understand it is not fixable, merely expressing my slight disappointment on the situation. ^^"

Of course, and as I said. Personally I would have -loved- to see a more unified front on the Horde's part.
It would have been glorious.

What Erwtenplesomething said is right.
I dunno, this seems to be a complex issue with regards to the Horde not unifiying for this.
OOC, the more RP-PVP the better, but personally, I found it hard to justify taking part in this one IC. We did try, we moved over to Arathi but then that set off something of a dominos effect IC, which when combined with our own "Are we loyal, aren't we loyal?" plotline meant we moved back in a hurry.
The Forsaken guilds organising it are fantastic RP'ers and people OOC of course, but for example, the Marauders detest fighting alongside them.
We could have fought skirmishes without them or defended Hammerfall or something, but it seems like a lot of effort IC. Especially for a bunch of mercenaries.
I guess it really did boil down to: "Fight for the crazy plague-spreading corpses? No thanks."

I know a solution.
Change your trp to "random horde soldier #1285" and enter the fray!

On the hordeside there seems little appreciation for Vangrel and co.
I cannot say I blame anyone for not appreciating catchy phrases like "Death to the living" and other details including the suggestion to use the elves as cannon-fodder.
Solanum is reluctant to let the Alliance gain foothold closer to the North, but in the end, hold no regard for a bunch of disrespectful corpses and will prioritize the lives of his men over the objectives and well-being of aforementioned corpses.

This part of the event was a disappointment.
I hope the steamroll was enjoyable for the Alliance, it felt very meh to have the tiny advantage we had with the terrain to even do anything whatsoever against those overwhelming numbers being swept away. Was it truely more fun to go about it like this? Such a damn shame.

Well, for me the event is concluded.
IC wise, I cannot fathom a reason why if flying dragons appear combined with an army five times our size, we would be standing on the walls.
If no flying creatures were present, I do not know how the alliance would instantly get up there, ropes would be cut, ladders pushed, and add to that spells and arrows hurled at those attempting to get onto the walls.
OOC wise, I was told no flying mounts were allowed, apparently in addition to having an insane number advantage (5:1?) the alliance needs to cheat us out of the only thing that would make this battle remotely fair?
I am disappointed over the fact the alliance seemingly wants a piss easy victory to brag about IC. Rather then involving something close to challenging.
And I am angered that they have the urge to cheat to accomplish this.

Agreed, the numbers could of been split a bit our side. But as for flying dragons? No idea what your talking about there, we only had wildhammers on gryphons. and that was -before- the fight

im gona jump in here I first off had no idea how small the horde army was.. we were also told not to use the walls so why some went up I dont know.. I admit i expected a far larger force horde side as normaly there is one.. im not sure what happend but sounds like you got unlucky remember we aliancies were vastly outnumberd in the pandarian pvp fights 2 and 3 so the cycle goes round unless both sides agree on a max pop count then this will happen

Heyo!
Thanks for the RP-PvP event today, I can understand that Horde might be angry because of getting constantly rofl-stomped, so some number balancing would have been benefit able for the Horde side.
Also a Dwarven fellow, Nazthar posted a picture of Stromgrade being covered in green gas;

That's a pretty good use of Green Smoke Flare, if that's what it is!

remember we aliancies were vastly outnumberd in the pandarian pvp fights 2 and 3 so the cycle
On the final night us Hordies accepted a request to split into teams of equal numbers to the Alliance.
We then agreed to fight the Alliance whilst outnumbered.

In my humble opinion, the extremely clever smoke screen at the front gate, combined with the lofty positions of ranged classess would of meant if that the alliance had of just charged the gate...
...it would of ended very, very badly for them. However, the alliance knew from past experience.
Regardless, all the tactical choices were sound.

I highly doubt it to be honest... You guys had far far more people, no way our healers would have been able to keep up. And some ranged could have sniped us down when done with the masses downstairs. Yes, I could not have been charged by three people, cooldowns popped, but we would have lost, it just would have taken a little bit longer and thus would have been more fun.
And an entire army sneaking in without us noticing anything....? That did not really add to the realism...
