Ihad hoped to attend this today, as I'm now able to be at a computer again after the car-accident I was in. But, alas, my grandmother had an accident earlier today, and my shift at the hostpital as bed-side companion starts at 20.00.

Controversial topics are welcomed, they were so very controversial however that the woman that wished to talk about disappearances in Silvermoon disappeared herself (le gasp) and the one that wished to talk about Blood Knight violence... Not sure where he went, perhaps got scared from the legion of (violent?) Blood Knights breathing down his neck. Very Happy

Still turned into a very lengthy meeting.

Something came up last night, while it isn't completely unexpected, it requires quite some thinking and some discussing.

It was requested that the council do something about how Sin Belore punishes their members (in public).

Untill now (only been a few meetings but still!) the council hasn't dabbled in such things nor assumed the authority to tell organisations (in Silvermoon) what they can and can't do.

If the council can tell Sin Belore what to do and what don't, then it will likely extend towards other organisations, such as the Blood Knights, Magisters, Farstriders and others that I don't know/remember but are surely very belfy.

Also what if an organisation ignores a decree/order, should they be punished? How should they be punished? Other councils (like the SW one and the Senate in IF) has a bit more history behind them and as I understand can do that, the SMC council is new. So I'd like to her ideas, thoughts and complains about that.

A thread in the Blood Elf section will also be added.

Telling people what to do directly is a slippery slope of doom, take that from an ex-SWC member.

It's best to stick to advising in matters such as this, or simply state that it isn't your job to dictate how Sin Belore conducts themselves.

S'my advice at least.

Also, there's the question of the grounds / motivations behind these accusations and calls for reaction. Afaik, Sin Belore has an internal investigation unit which can take care of that. If it doesn't and the nasty behaviour continues - then other measures have to be taken.

Also, if someone is driven by a personal motivation or tries to settle personal conflicts by calling for an intervention - this is a waste of the councillor's time. (not to mention all those waiting for the topics on the agenda to be addressed...)

Advising and making rational suggestions would work, I agree with Mr. Caan.

Firstly thank you for organising this meeting - judging by the up to 34 attendees throught its length it was popular and seen as important. I did not mind that it was long as it was interesting tosee the interelations and tensions bewteen individuals and groups.

Will there be any record of decisions or minutes available from the meeting?

The clerk seemed to be furiously writing notes throughout so it would be nice to see how the council remembered and recorded what came to pass and what action points arose.

A post here would be great.

Our local parish council posts up minutes of the local council meeting on a noticeboard in town (No45 have applied to have an extension built over their garage btw) so it would be -really- nice if we had something similar, even just bullet points. I know it's asking a lot but perhaps could be shared out amongst the attendee's or council, people taking turns? A chat-log addon would save scribbling whilst attending.
