Yeah it'll sell loads. Those without a sufficient internet connection are in the minority here, and the majority that'll come to buy the xbox one don't really care about them.

Well, no. I do think Microsoft has done a terrible pitch and created a product which is just bronze in comparison to PS4s gold but I still hope they sell well enough to change their concept later down the line. After all, they're not forcing anyone to buy it and if it doesn't do well, people lose jobs!

Hey Jens, it turns out the DLC also goes early to Xbone players.

EA is trying to punish Sony for not enforcing DRM. Apparently EA only scrapped online passes because they expected both consoles to block used game sales, and now Sony hasn't but they can't reintroduce the online passes without looking like (even bigger) assholes. So they're being all butthurt passive-aggressive about it.

God damn, the games industry is such a convoluted hive of evil conspiracies.

The only thing that Xbone has over PS4 is a few more exclusives at launch. But with devs like naughty dog on Sony's side that shouldn't be something that should sell too many consoles.
The only console I'll ever buy for exclusives is Nintendo. Only exclusive I've been intrested in this past console cykle has been The Last of Us.
Yes, some will buy for them and early access. But on a personal note I'll think they are idiots. It's entertainment, not life. You don't need them.
Thankfully most (all?) games I've seen so far and been intrested in are either indie titles or multiplatform (many even being on PC, yay!)

Personally I'd be EXTREMLY surprised about anyone from a "Normal middleclass" income home getting something as expensive as the PS4 for christmas, let alone the Xbone.

as in: for 400 bucks you get a PS4 game X and a controller
vs: for 500 bucks you get an xbone game Y and a controller

Since as it stands now, I think Xbox is kinda obligated to throw in a second controller, just to make it seem that they're not "more expensive"

There will be some "exclusive" bundles I am sure.  And announced prices now do not mean the thing won't see a drop of £50 or so before Christmas.  As a "non-sale".

It was interesting, but I disagree with what it says about CoD. That just shows if you can build a fanboy cult you can throw out the same sstuff every year and it'll sell. No need for story, innovation, graphics or sound, just a hyped following.

Apparently they spent $25mil on marketing Witcher 2, though. That seems way worse than development costs.

Well, sure. CoD does sell because people know what to expect. It's a solid game. That isn't to say they don't have a good story; I fucking love the CoD campaigns. Black Ops 2 was outstanding.

Beyond Two Souls,
Kingdom Hearts 3,
Final Fantasy 15,
Watch Dogs.
(I would say Halo 5...but there is no way I am getting the Xbox Done).

I can straight up say I do not enjoy CoD. Even if I have quite a few friends who find the MW campagins to be very entertaining.

But you missed the point. CoD is proof that "You don't need to spend the biggest buck for the best bang". MW3 was, for how much money they made, extremly cheap. Since I'd guess that over half the game is the same assets as the first MW. Just polished up a bit more than it was in MW2.

No one can say that Battlefield 3 wasn't a more polished game than MW2 or MW3. But it didn't sell nearly as well. This is Sterlings point in the article, and the reason he used CoD.
You can't sell games -like- CoD but prettier to people who play CoD. Since they have CoD.
There's also the fact that as a shooter Modern Warfare was both quite innovative and extremly solid. Which is what modern day CoD is built on.
Yet almost all big publishers are trying to make a New CoD. But only by being prettier, spending more.

They think "BUT I SPENT THE MOST THUS I MUST BE BEST!" And it's just plain wrong.

As for games:
The Division
Beyond Two Souls
The new Metal Gear Solid looks good.

As for actual games...The Division, InFamous - Second Son, Dying Light, Watchdogs and Beyond at least. PS4 for me definetly, as I had planned even before all this announcement shizzle.

Sure they can afford since the game is cheap so they spend the same netwise but just pump more into awareness and brand and its paying off.
