The "other game thread"
As the title implies, post your random brainfarts about games other than WoW here! I figured we might as well make a complete thread for all other games here to prevent having to post a new thread for every single new game that's coming out there.
Anyway, I'll kick off with a newly released showcase of Shogun 2. I love the way Creative Assembly always manages to make these great demonstrations, and Shogun has definitely been one my most-beloved RTS' out there.

Oh my god. I cannot WAIT for Shogun 2 total war. That looks AWESOME.
I didn't like the napoleon thing, but damn, that not only LOOKS great, the setting is great and the time is interested and awesome. Wow. Remind me to download that one!

Messing around on Dead Rising 2: Case Zero. Very, very, good for a £3 purchase and should hold my over until Dead Rising 2 on the 25th.

They'll probably do something different between Shogun 2 and the next "2" (likely Rome, yes) kind of like Empire, I think?

Re: The "other game thread"
A thread to boast about my favourite game? Excellent. The official trailer (taken on a very poor video recorder, it seems ):
A good gameplay video:
(ignore everything after 9 minutes have elapsed. )
The above trailer shows alot, but still not everything that can be achieved in the game. Another trailer, showing the building of Traps, is below:
...And, finally, something missed out in both gameplay videos - a battle of the minds - a Debate:
It's a Turn-Based Strategy game based on the Three Kingdoms Period of Ancient China (which, admittedly, I have a huge obsession in ). Nowadays, despite being out for 2 years already, it's still bought between £10-30, depending on the seller.

Hmm, I think you should take this to Game Related and "Cataclysm Alpha / SPOILERS BE AND GOES HERE!" topic
PS.
Stormwind is NOT lovely, as Obi Wan Kenobi would say if here were living on Azeroth, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy."

A bit of Scott Pilgrim Vs The World on XBLA is going down a treat.
I'm a sucker for 16bit side scrolling beat-em-up action.
Also looking forward to Deadrising2 and Halo Reach. Something about 4player co-op spartan action just has me tingling.

DLC Galore;
Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadowbreaker.
While I'd expected the Shadowbreaker to make his grand appearance in ME3, I guess a (hopefully) proper DLC will do as well - Bioware's proven they can do it with Kasumi and Overlord. And hey, who doesn't like some extra blue side-boob (with a new face, no less!).
And when we're talking about sideboob, this one's hard to miss. Kind of glad they're finally resolving the 'Mirror' plothole from the Dalish origin, but besides that, I don't really know what to expect. I pray Flemeth shows up tho. Because, y'know, she awesome.
And well, now we're on the subject of DA;
Everything known so far (spoilers).
I'm liking the new art direction they're taking, but I guess its going to stir some qq here and there.

Bill Marston, what a guy!
I've had it for a while but just find myself wandering through the wilderness instead of actually doing the missions XD Awesome scenery, awesome setting. Badass character.

Re: The "other game thread"
I've known some people who think the ending is great, but I have to admit I thought it was a bit... sudden. Then again, there was a long build-up for it, but still:
Also, anyone else who prefers the ME-like approach they'll be taking in DA2 with the dialogue system? Even though you risk having your character sound like an ass, I personally prefer it a lot more as a cinematic experience over the age-old "character stares blankly whilst you select a witty response"-dialogue.
- Spoiler:
- I hated having to complete all the other challenges and side-quests with his whiny, un-cool son.

The fact that the characters didn't have voices actually turned me off Dragon Age (tried out my friend's copy) and was what made me eventually skip it in favour of just getting ME2. I dunno, I guess after playing ME it felt kind of lame to play a mute in such a story-heavy game.

- Spoiler:
- I wanted to do all the sidequests and stuff after I'd done the last mission, only to find out you could only do it as his whiny ass brat of a son. So now I restarted the game >_>

Scott Pilgrim.
Don't know about the game (never played it), but the soundtrack seems like a killer.

Been messing about on this since yesterday. I loved Crackdown 2 by itself anyway, but the DLC really ramps up the replayability.

Re: The "other game thread"
Oh em geeAfter more than a decade of waiting, rumors and false starts, the most famous vaporware in gaming history is finally coming out.
Yesterday's rumor that Duke Nukem Forever - possible the most delayed game of all time - was actually finished has been confirmed today at PAX Prime in Seattle. Gearbox Software, maker of Borderlands, apparently took over the development in 2009 following the demise of 3D Realms, and is said to be in the process of polishing the game.
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that 3D Realms had actually created a lot of content for the game - although obviously, it never finished it - and that Gearbox was able to bring it all together and make it "the game it was meant to be." Duke Nukem Forever's story will be familiar to those who have played previous Duke Nukem games, as Duke is forced to fight off alien invaders in order to save the Earth.
The game is expected to ship in 2011, although Pitchford is reluctant to be more specific. "This is a game where we cannot make a promise we cannot fulfill," he said. "We need to get past the shock and awe and then we can go to all the retailers and first parties and work out a launch plan." Gearbox is just a touch more consistent about releasing games than 3D Realms, so unless the game is actually cursed or something equally silly, Duke Nukem Forever will actually be hitting shelves some time on the near future.

Baldur's Gate II man. Playing it right now.
Also transformice.
Civ V is out soon, I've got high hopes for that. And, call me crazy, but I'm looking forward to the eventual release of Guild Wars 2, as well.
Oh, oh, and Pokemon Black/White.
Also, Kingdom Under Fire 2. I'm *really* looking forward to that.
