I have to second Scribblenauts being awesome. It is fantastic and for a puzzel game gives you amazing amounts of freedom.

Still remaing TR on Miller. It's kinda bad lag wise but expect it to blow over in a day or two.
Anyway today I learned you can kill people in Deploy mode. I decided to deploy onto one of our domes and thought i'd land myself on the helipad. I ended up landing on one of the enemy guys and killing him due to my deploy. Proceeded to gun down a few more before going down myself. I was one among many enemies on a helipad, so take 'em down with me!
Also I was flying a mosquito and hovering when about 20 galaxy's grouped together flew past me with liberators and other mosquito's. Our team but woah, what a sight that was.

So I saw new content for the Sims 3 came out and I thought, "Those prices seem a little odd for an old game." then I had a little look into the steam prices...
So with the Sims 3 being almost two years old now, with 16 DLCs that add in stuff like a few new bits of furniture, some new town spots to visit, some new clothes and a seasonal change, you're thinking: Well, the game itself should be about 10 - 15 pounds, then each DLC maybe a fiver at best? Considering it is EA. So all in all, you may think - well it'll probably cost like £80 (99 euros) for the entire pack. Rip off!
Nope. To buy all of the Sims 3 games, it will cost you a staggering £355 (439 euros). They get away with selling some new clothes and furniture in a DLC pack for 30 quid!
EA!!!!!
You're a life saver. Not ten minutes after I read this post I learned my other half wanted to get the sims 3 and buy it in a shop here. Norway being Norway, thats just expensive. Then I told her about the sale.
This just reminded me, Kitt and I spend around 2 days, yes 2, recreating the Eastvale manor house with a few twists to make it livable within the parameters of the game. Here are some screenshots, spoilered due to the volume of pics.

The gameplay is slick as always, running on 60fps, but the thing that truly sells it is the story and how much freedom you have to change it. Four different endings, for the best ending you literally have to do things you wouldn't expect on the usual FPS railway format.
The levels were so different and memorable, the villain was like a joker/Silver from Skyfall mix. Fucking pleased!

Re: The "other game thread"
One of the reasons I do love CoD is because of the community. I've never played any of them to the extent that most people do, I didn't buy MW2, WaW or Black Ops. But I've played a bit more of Black Ops 2 and the guy I play with, one of best mates, is insanely good. Something like a 3 K/D at least with some crazy games like 70 for 10 etc. The reason this is amazing? Because people get so wound up about it and message him (and me for having the sam clan tag thingy) calling us every name under the sun. Since he has got this diamond camo shotgun, it has just been getting better and better. I could make a successful youtube page from uploading the 15 second voice clips some of these people send.Quin wrote:Vaell wrote:No matter what you think of Black Ops 2 or any CoD game, I suggest everyone pirates Black Ops 2 at the very least, just for the campaign. Re: The "other game thread"
Got the possibility to grab the first three episodes of the walking dead for money I've already spent. Do you reckon it's worth the imaginary money that I could spend on something like a single dlc or something for another game instead?
(My previous experiences with telltale being good, I thought I'd ask)

I -really- liked the walking dead game(s?) but I can imagine some people not digging it at all. Its a bit interactive movie/flashy game feely at times.
I'd recommend it but perhaps first check youtube if its your kind of thing. Careful with the spoilers though

Tried a free demo, I liked it, but it's gonna have to be on the computer, the UI didn't feel right on console.

I've decided, there's no true way to go in Planetside 2 than to be a Medic. The possibilities with one is endless.

Re: The "other game thread"
I was playing with a friend the other day for a few hours and our experience was as follows...
Spawn at red base as two infiltrators, grab a galaxy, make squad called Serenity, people join, we drop near combat, people run in, we stay on ridges and snipe, call for them to come back, they rush to the ship and we're off again.
This part was great fun until we lost our girl to a tank squad that happened to drive into the canyon we left it in! We were up on the hill running down in despair. We then got on quad bikes, 8 of us. That was pretty fun. Then mosquitos. Then a tank division that lead to the best war I've had on the game so far - I died and flew back in a mosquito and it reminded me of that scene in 'War of the Worlds' where all the troops are running up the hill that is on fire!

Getting your xp from repairing and setting down ammo packs around the sunderer then?

You get exp from people spawning in your sunderer as well.Eira wrote:Tjib/Oragg wrote:Engineer and sunderer all the way for me.... the thing spoon-feeds me xp when placed in a active combat zone.Eira wrote:I've decided, there's no true way to go in Planetside 2 than to be a Medic. That was pretty insane.
XP for people spawning in your sunderer also? Thats uh...Insane if the number is in double digits per spawn.

5xp per spawn, I think it was. Don't quote me on that since I don't usually drive a sunderer.Eira wrote:Nifty wrote:I saw a MAX with something looking like testicles stuck to his boots... Most interesting.

Usually it's infiltrator or mosquito for me, although the cert costs for mosquito weapons are frustratingly high.
Also...hacking a vehicle console in an enemy base and then spawning a sunderer is a neat little infiltrator trick, I've found out.

Re: The "other game thread"
Btw, I may have asked before, but I'll do so again:
Does anybody here play Mass Effect 3 online?
And if so, do you want to keep a casual silver/gold-difficulty player company every now and then?
Would be fun to play with more reliable randoms than the usual crew, so PM me for gamertag if you should wish

Re: The "other game thread"
Recently did the THQ humble bundle thing but I have these games already:
Darksiders, Red Faction: Armageddon, Metro 2033, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts, and Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor.
Anyone want the whole package there? Requirements are you must not be a dick and I have to like you.
