Blizzcon 2011 (October 21-22nd)

But I also have to say, once again, that the more I watch how the new zones look, the more I like them. Still...I shouldn't really excite myself just over that. Back when I first saw the trailer for WoTLK, I remember thinking "Oh wow...those places are looking pretty damned impressive for WoW engine and just in general. Will be awesome to RP in Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord..." and then I ended up RPing...maybe 2-4 times in the whole Northrend, if excluding Dalaran. Not that I mind questing in fancy looking locations, 'course.

Yes! I've played since 2006 and I've met only one person, who didn't give much crap about PvP and even less so about PvE. Never made it to 60, I believe, and had played since 2005/2006 as well. Not that I'd loathe that type of playing, I rather admire someone being that much into RP. But for me at least, questing in new locations isn't just "xp grinding".

I forsee Krogon starting some sort of Monk RP project...

Obviously they have never messed with you characters when they launched an expansion. I still remember the WTF feeling when I flew into Stormpeaks and met the Frostfeather Harpies. When you meet Bennedict the Brewmaster you will care...

Would I be bored enough, I would actually make a thread and poll about this! If excluding goblins, quest grinding has been the number one thing for me with all three expansions. Though instead of grinding, I'd rather go for "doing possibly fun and enjoyable quests (even more so if you're doing them together with a friend/friends) while strolling through pretty new zones."

Quests are the simples way to get pointed towards the worthwhile places of a zone.

Anything about new character slots? With 11th class being added into the game and whatnot...

Because I finally have ten characters representing each class on DB and I'm not giving up on any of them! Making a character for another realm with me is almost like not making a character at all...and screw buying WoW and copies of all the expansions for another account.

Haven't heard anything about this, and it's something I've been wondering about as well. Don't much fancy deleting anyone.

Regarding hunters; you are eliminating the use for melee weapons, are we still going to be able to equip it? Can we also get some mace love?
There are not any plans for that now, we are probably not going to let you equip melee. If it makes you feel better, the rogues wont be able to equip the orange legendary bow either. We do want to change hunters so you can see quivers and or ammo pouches, potentially customize them, etc.

Oh well, too bad.

In the Q&A someone asked about the skin models of the old races, the answer was they definately want to update them.

That's the same answer they always give. They just usually add that they currently dont have the resources to do it.

Chris Metzen asked the crowd on Q and A of Lore "How many people here are roleplayers?" majority of the crowd cheered and Chris was like "Wow! Goodness gracious!" just wanted to share that with you. For the roleplayers!

Some of the answers in the Lore and Q&A panels are really pissing me off. For example Chris talking about Pandaren Warlocks, Tauren Paladins or the Q&A re skinning answer.

By now they still can't be using "Some people might prefer the old race models" I don't know anyone who still classes the old race models as looking good and up to date. At least do the original races... *sigh*

5:03PM A: I don't know exactly when it's going to drop, trying for 5.0, I think Varian has potential to be a very bad ass character. Epic Quest line, "Trials of the high king." Based off the trails of Heracules. You'll be his squire, you'll help him become the most awesome warrior. There will be no question from the Alliance races, they'll all follow Varian. "The Alliance is going to need a king with his shit together."

Worst lore answer ever.

Yeah, thanks, apparently we get to help the Mary Sue main characters be the heroes while we just stick to the sidelines. We don't care about Varian, Thrall, etc. We are the ones that want to be involved, not just backup for your shitty main characters.

Agreed. why i wished for more people to able to ask more questions is because when they ask the devs of the game lore in a public way they kind of have to do something about them, right? Since they are somewhat more pressured to do so. Also when they are asked questions like that, hip shot so to say, but then again they cant always answer right away, i mean come on, they are human beings and propably have a thousand things on their mind anyway, none can remember everything.

Shattered planets in the sky and etherals running around.. but as we talked to the community people wanted to kill kobolds and stuff thats what fantasy means to them...

So much for another space expansion in the foreseeable future, eh? I suppose the Draenei community has to get more vocal. Or something.
