PvE vs PvP is gone according to Blizzcon 2k17
Hello,
SPOILER ALERT!!!!
If you don't want to know anything about Blizzcon for whatever reason you have, don't open the spoiler!!!
Will the RPPVP community rise again from ash?
I say from ash because from what I see and experienced of RP was very scarce imo.
Anyway, discuss.

- Spoiler:
- So basically from what I understood every realm will be the same kind of realm when it comes to the PvE and PvP categories and it will be our choices to leave or not leave PvP enabled and we will win rewards for leaving PvP enabled while we're out there questing.
This could mean RP wussies that hate world PvP wouldn't have a problem in coming to Defias and the other RPPVP realms!

The change sounds a lot more exiting then it will actually be.
If you think about it what they have said is "We will change the rulesets so you can just go anywhere without being attacked on any server, but you will have the option to activate PvP-combat". That's nothing new, it's called a PvE-realm.
So in essence they are removing PvP-servers and make some minor tweaks to PvE-realm rulesets for those who choose to "opt in" PvP.
Yes, playing with PvP-flagged will have some "reward" for the risk of the playstyle, but most likely it will be just a slight experience boost to offset for the time you spend corpserunning or some very slightly better drops/quest rewards. Things that won't matter anymore once we reach 120 and keep running heroics and mythics to gear up.
To answer your question if the RPPVP community will rise again... doubtfully. To RPPVP you will need to have PvP-flagged, so this will not change anything. The scared players will remain in their blueshielded world not participating in non-instanced PvP.

Good point.
I did find it a bit odd as he started his presentation on this topic about how some players like to go out in the world and gank newbies.
The rewards have to be huge to "force" players of any level to flag themselves. However, with this, it will make the RPPVP community "safer" in a way. One big example of why someone in AD wouldn't just move to DB is because of PvP. I know lots of PvErs who hate PvPers because of ganking.
And since our realms aren't overrun with elitists claiming to own 10 thousand square meters of land in the middle of Stormwind, it could be something to attract the veterans and newcomers to RP imo.
