[H] Orcs of the Red Blade (updated)

“By the will of the Chieftain, the Blood and the Wolf, we stand now before the judgement of Spirits. War is born from the fury of mortals, more insatiate than the hunger of wild beasts, given breath by necessity. It is at this hour that we ask you guide our fangs. Let our blades be tempered and sanguine. Let our dance march to your rhythm. Let our vigour annihilate our foes and may only the flames of the Firelands stop us from this path. Do this, and we will pay tribute in blood and glory, by the Wolfking be sworn.”

The invocation came to an end, and the shaman turned back to her Chieftain. Ranks of orcs filled the fields behind him, knelt in prayer. Some of them raised their heads, gazing around, waiting for a sign. Others simply kept their heads lowered, trusting instead in the revered Thur’ruk and her ritual to deliver them from what evil that awaited them.

The arid, red plains that surrounded them offered little consolation in that regard. Its flora and fauna consisted not of flowing rivers or lush forests, but of unnatural red rocks and grim, forgotten boneyards, earth salted with the dead and tears. Yet in the midst of this forgotten place, an invigorating breeze abruptly swept over the ranks of orcs. The Chieftain’s arm was raised, hand clenching firmly his mighty sword.

”Blessed are we, by earth and ancestor! By fire and spirit! By water and unity! But the winds must sweep further, our message be spread!”

The others too rose, holding aloft their weapons and shields and baring their fangs to scarlet skies. Like the baying of hounds they cried out, their echoes to resound across plains, hills, mountains and oceans, calling out for any orc that might boast sufficient honour and valour to answer the call to arms: To stand side by side with brother and sister to face the world of enemies that awaited them.

“Raise the banners high! Nag’Ogar! Rrosh-tul! Ready your arms and look to your companions! Gosh’kar! Thur’ruk! Call upon the elements and guide our aim true! Gul’thauk! Varog’Gor! Don your skin and mark your prey!”

“Blood! Blood!”

The horde of orcs cried out, as if the very skin on their bones had caught fire. Their enemies did not yet know, but the orcs certainly did: A new day had dawned. A day of the orc.

OOC – Since almost the beginning of the Defias Brotherhood server, the Orcs of the Red Blade have been a prominent member of the roleplaying society. Featuring a multitude of events a week and an almost steady stream of story-driven campaigns, we pride ourselves in having offered a roleplaying experience for any who seek to have a taste of an orc’s life in the World of Warcraft since as early as 2005.

Do not let those tall words intimidate you, however. Whether you are still new to roleplaying or already know the ins and outs of the roleplaying experience, we offer a place for anyone. So long as you are an orc and are willing to roleplay as a member of our society, you are more than welcome in our tribe (we say ‘tribe’ rather than ‘clan’ because our orcs have gathered from several clans to form the Red Blade, allowing them to retain former allegiances if they so wish).
Alts, too, are welcome to join, as the tribe consists of both hardcore as well as casual players.

In order to maintain our unique culture and aesthetics, there are a few special rules which help maintain our style of RP. For example, orcs are encouraged to get their hands on some type of 'wolf mask'. In fact, the wolf is the emblem of the tribe and we encourage our members to ride only wolves during guild events. Riding a wolf at all times is equally encouraged, though never mandatory. We value the importance of fun and freedom for our members, so we will never attempt to force you to do anything that you might rather not. Do keep in mind that our /G channel is strictly in character, but we also run an OOC channel for any other bantering purposes.

Thanks for the input! The voice was indeed a little tricky due to (obviously) not having any high quality recording devices or such. Who could have known trying to remove noise and clicks from a headset microphone could be so tricky? D;

You did well enough! Great recruitment video. Has tempted me to change the gobbo shaman into an orc, admittedly.

I'm very curious who I'd contact about being able to apply, I've seen a few people running about with the name but never got round to whispering them.

Also I remember seeing some of the OORB in redridge a few months ago, when I was new to the server, watched for quite a while before I was ganked by a troll from SGE. XD

And saw some more of the Orcs in nagrand while farming only a few weeks ago.
