Horde: More than orcs

Writing this because of a recent topic that has appeared within my own guild, namely the one concerning a lack for a base for those individuals, especially of troll and tauren nature, that is Horde aligned. We have Second Gurubashi Empire, Blackblood Clan, Cult of Shadow and other excellent guilds that undoubtedly provide a home for many, but perhaps not for those that apply themselves to the current Horde and its ideals. I'm not forgetting the Banner of the Bloodhoof, however, and hopefully this topic will interest them as well.

With ambition to strengthen the basis for Horde RP and gain more interaction with other races, it was currently on the agenda to open up for a discussion in regards to the possibility of making Orcs of the Red blade a multiracial guild (For troll and tauren as well), or possibly opening up for a sister guild which will follow our chieftain, but gain their personal ranks. Both ideas clearly have their flaws, and their positive sides as well.

The question directed here is simply, is there a need to create a venue like this - as in, are people who RP Horde trolls and tauren interested in joining us and our events or are there any other suggestions at hand? There are no plans set in motion, this is simply an attempt to manage a discussion which'll hopefully come to some kind of fruition and fun in future RP.

But, Horde could need this, many races could.

...and then someone else would have to make a new horde aligned orc-only guild to cater those orcs who do not want to mingle with other races under the same banner

I do agree that we need more horde aligned guilds around, especially tauren ones since they seem to die as soon as they are born

Are the trolls of Darkspear tribe(?) still around by the way?

While I admit that opening up OotRB is an option that's open for discussion, I have a feeling not too many of the members would see a lot in the idea. Admittedly, the main reason behind it is to get some more Kalimdor RP going, as there are barely any active tauren and troll guilds out there.

Most of the guilds we're allied with are no longer around, and most other RP guilds on Horde that are still active are either elves or dark Horde-aligned/independent. We figured some means to welcome tauren/troll RPers to the RP environment again would be good, but without a reliable haven for them, it's hard to keep them coming.

I don't think we'll be gunning for multi-racial now, but it was brought up as a suggestion to be food for thought for our members. In regards to the Darkspear trolls I don't think they can be counted as active at all, but perhaps they have a few members left hiding around.

More RP between guilds has always been something to strive for on Horde, but it's .. hard when agendas are so vastly different and each race tend to their own needs, not to mention that several guilds have a "We're not Horde"-standing.

I suppose that a creation of a sister guild to Orcs of the Red blade, in which other races could fit as well, is a suggestion, even if it makes Koz appear even more power hungry than he actually is. I merely wonder if people would join up for a level 1 guild that appears, at least initially, to be a bit of an experiment or side-project.

Lastly I reckon that the facts might have to be faced that there's no need for guild like that, or integration, because there simply aren't enough people on the Horde that are "looking for a home" that they can't find in any of the previously mentioned guilds. I suppose we just really missed interacting with Horde-allied trolls and tauren and pondered if there was a way we could help in kind of bringing that aspect to life.

The current "plan" is to host more open events, and invite more people to them. And no, not necessarily markets.

Like babysitting, and merchant work. As well as honorable defence for horde settlements for the fighters in them.

Personally, I think making the Orcs of the Red Blade, the Red Blade Tribe with allowance for more Shamanistic Horde Races is a brilliant idea.

OotRB has always stood strong through the tests of time, limiting themselves to only Orcs, imagine the possibilities if they expanded?

It has turned into bit of a Harem... hasnt it... this explains much.

A harem of one Warlock, a Death Knight, and ... a very angry orc that is MIA.

The tribe indeed died a while back. I've been able to nab leadership a few days ago, and I'm interested in reviving it. It's still just an idea though, it'll need a bit of work.

The suggestion of a sister guild to ORB seems like a good one to me, since as you pointed out, there might not be a lot of people looking for a home on the Kalimdor Horde side at the moment, so recruiting them into one guild might be an efficient way to get numbers up quickly. Looking forward to see what this will turn into!

Don't think opening up for more races in a onerace guild is a good option. Considering how well it went (not) with gnomes and dwarves in old DRS, I'm not certain that it is the best way to go.

You're free to try ofcourse, but I just thought I'd give a heads up.

A nice idea will support orb in this.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if more Horde races came to Silvermoon and claimed that the Warchief demanded assistance from the Belfies for certain things.

I'd like to think the Belfies try and shy away from as much work as they can, until they're called upon. Silvermoon being their primary agenda, and the Horde second.

Scumbag Blood Elves, take Silvermoon politics with them on campaign.

Sounds like a good idea to have some races who's guilds have trouble lifting off glide along on the OotRB's succes

But I'd suggest making a sister guild, "Orcs, Trolls and Tauren of the Red Blade" is much too long a guild name D:
