Put a resistance how? I don't think the disease cares much for barricades.

Fantastic idea! Im looking forward for this
Just on idea though, wouldnt it be great if this event occurs on Valentines day, since you get nice "infected" looking effect from the Cologne and Perfume resistance potions?

Denied.
Also it makes me think of Left 4 Dead zombies... not you Dawn of the dead zombies.

Regarding Draenei and Night Elves being immune to it or not... I don't think they are "immune to all disease", but they -can- be immune to that specific virus in that specific form... until it mutates, that is, and adapts to infecting them - (if it does). But I'd guess as a default, it wouldn't infect them until it mutates and becomes able to do so.
Either way, sounds like a really interesting situation you got going there, good luck!

Death Knights would likely be infected, but not 'affected' by it per say given that they are already likely channeling and filled with all sort of nasty such things. More over, I expect they'd likely be walking carriers for it thus meaning any form of government with common sense would leave them in the city to their fates and keep them out.

That's actually an interesting view. The bad DKs left behind could rally up some infected and try and stop parties from gathering samples. Watcho guys think?

So they would be essentially the alpha males of the infected? Also they could send their new minions on skirmishes against other DKs over territory

DKs could turn into big fat exploding zombies or fast roof jumpers instead, while 4 paladins take shotguns and have to escape the city via evocuation boat.

When: TBA
Where: Stormwind City, Elwynn Forest; Fray Island, Barrens
How: Mages and those less itching to brave an infested city can go to Stranglethorn and obtain information about the sources of the disease. It will be required that they talk to goblins, witch doctors and even bring back a sample of a Stranglethorn gorilla. It is less exciting than going into Stormwind, but much safer. Once the cure is found, it will be spread throughout Stomrwind and the last part of the event will be spent force feeding the antidote on remaining infected. Life will return to normal as soon as repairs and cleansing are done.
What?! You've forgot about a certain group based in the Stranglethorn Vale, wich is pretty aggressive to any intruders?

Patch 1.0 Notes:
- Brainrot is no longer airborne. It will transmitted through contaminated food, drink and bodily fluids from infected people. I feel that it will be much more plausible that sent people to Stormwind come back clean this way. That is, if you're not bitten.
- Rogues can now dual wield two-handed swords starting on level 20.
- Resilience reduces an additional 90% of the damage over time spells.

I can concur their internal structure is indeed quite different from a humans! *Moan* So-.. tight..- aahh..
Anyway, sounds like a cool idea. Will there be some sort of cure in the end, or do all characters who are infect essentially 'die' IC?

Re: [A] Stormwind in crisis
They said they'll take alchemists / Harry Potters to Fray Island and make some pot to burn it out of everyone in town.
So yeah; Whenever the cure works or not, though, is up to the infected person, I guess? (OOC wise)
- Spoiler:
- First post:Alchemists and mages start studying the disease right away, hoping to find a cure, and the healthy military forces are led by paladins to take samples from various locations, objects and even infected people in Stormwind City. The days go by in Fray Island and news of more cases of brainrot come from the coastal Alliance towns: Westfall, Southshore, Menethil Harbour. The pressure is immense, but after much effort - often thwarted by cultists - the physicians discover a cure. It is promptly produced and distributed to the infected and the pandemic comes to an end. Stormwind suffers some mild damage from the confusion, but life returns to normal after it is repaired.

Re: [A] Stormwind in crisis
I support that you want to create a big event and it is a nice idea over all. Although personally I ahve no interest in taking any part of it.
I do not think Stormwind is a good place to do this in. Remember that most RP'ers (for example lowbie beginner RP players) are not registered on these forums or visiting the realm forums and will therefor not know what you guys are up to. If a level 7 character who is obviously new to RP tries to RP with an involved infected person, what will happen?
I believe that you guys will be frustarated as hell after just a few days because only 1/4 of all the stormwinders "respect" what you're doing.
If I were you I'd organise this in another, less frequently visited, town - like Menethil Harbor. There you could work almost entirely un-disturbed.
I understand that it will be a bit of a hazzle to make up IC reasons for everyone to be there but it will not be worse than a couple of you happening to be around there when the ship comes in, get diseased and go meet the rest who wish to be diseased, then decide to move all affected once to Menethil.
Way easier than having to explain to everyone in stormwind why they're OOC just for being there.
Sorry about my crappy english, I'm a swede. ^^
