Not everyone were a part of the raid, you know.

Re: [A-H] [RP-PvP] The Anniversary War 2010
I want to thank everyone who decided to join my spontaneously made raid and listening to the orders. Was surprised to see people do so xD
As for the OOC raid, it was decided after a ready check with 37 yes's to 3 no'es for an Orgrimmar assault. I believe not many of us saw the entire battle today ICly, although some did RP it out but I did say in my raid at the very start:"So. This is as in character as you want it to be, but if you choose not to RP, then at least don't OOC in /say /yell. And have fun!". I do remember past anniversary wars being IC for those who chose them to be, but generally the battles are seen OOCly. I was not told about them being exclusively IC, neither this year nor in any past years. Announcing the event on the realm forum came to reinforce that impression of mine too.
I was also told that the horde got CC'ed and made sure it was no one from my raid and also informed the other raids in /general to draw back and let the hordies regroup. I suppose such incidents will always happen in such massive events no matter what though.
Overall it was a damn awesome event. Thanks to the hordies and alliance for taking part in it! ^^

So that's why I say so many OOCers there? That explains. Thanks.Tashun/Galavan wrote:The Orgrimmar raid was as OOC as Ashenvale, there was no RP justification to be there or to speak OOC in /s and /y
On the Horde, we kicked any from the raid who OOCed in /yell or /say. I saw plenty of OOC yells and actions and even guilds in Orgrimmar. Surely some that followed from Ashenvale, but that still doesn't justify a lot of the stuff that was reported.
Anyway, if it's all considered to be an OOC game anyway, the next event might as well be scratched. AWs have always been IC and OOCers have always been shunned. At least on the Horde side of things.

Yes, go ahead and quote the text where you can strike. That is indeed very cunning.
I was a part of your Horde raid last year, and it was no different from Mandui leading this one. People were told not to OOC, and if it is abused, they obviously gets kicked ~ but guess what, despite the kicks, they'll still be around, still be OOC'ing, still take a part of the battle, just without a raid. You can't really avoid that, it's the same on both sides.
Now, you can stay annoyed of how badly it went for the Horde and draw the "you weren't IC'ly" card.
Fact is, those who wanted to Roleplay, did it.
Those who simply followed the server rules, did so.
Those who OOC'ed, weren't a part of the event.
End of story.
PS: Orgrimmar had nothing to do with the event itself. Shame on the OOC yells though.

You're generalising here considering it's showing just Tashun being a moron.

Re: [A-H] [RP-PvP] The Anniversary War 2010
To be honest; as there was barely -any- planning of this MASSIVE battle ICly before hand, I can't really see any reason for it to be taken too strictly IC. My character was there ICly, but I RPd some unknown, expendable character as my main had no reason to be there IC.
See, if this was a real IC battle, having consequences etc after the fighting (i.e which side gets the territory etc), it should've been planned ICly months and months in advance, as well as loads and loads of pre-events with troop movements, logistics, training events and so on. This was not the case, however, so I don't see how it could pass as a strict IC event.

It was all IC for me, anyway. Dunno about you guys, but I'd assume that's your choice to make for yourselves. <3

Great event, I hope both sides had alot of fun. But seeing as there is tension around these parts now, I need to quote this:
And also say that if this raid was supposed to be a strict In Charecter one with RP flowing through the fights, the idea to post it on the realm forums was bad from the start as it attracted OOCers. And in case people havent enjoyed the event, and are thinking of stuff to flame about:
Fact is, those who wanted to Roleplay, did it.

Those who OOC'ed, weren't a part of the event.

Well, I did check my chat log now, since I was barely focusing on that during the chaos. I have those who OOC'ed on the log and they will not be getting an invite tomorrow, but like Vera said, they will still be able to follow the bunch.
And Tashun...seriously wtf.

I was just rping some random soldier since Veialynn would probaly faint of shock. But yes there will always be a few who spoil it but pointing fingers and blameing people isnt going to get anywhere. I admit I didnt really see much ooc because I went into foccus heal mode.
@Tashun that is very idiotic of you. If your not going to be IC at least dont be an ass and ooc you probaly got many reports for that stunt.
For once can we just avoid the drama and just say we had fun?
-Veia.

While I missed tonights events, thus can't comment with first hand experience, I'm drawn to agree with the above. 'The Alliance' as a faction cannot control the actions of the individuals which make up the faction, in a similar way that the Horde as a collective can't be held responsible for the behaviour of the Goons. It pays to use multiple brushes if you are applying a lot of tar.

Re: [A-H] [RP-PvP] The Anniversary War 2010
It wasn't just Tashun that was clearly seen OOCing. There's hardly any case of generalizing here, as I have seen plenty of OOCers hanging around the main raid. As I have already mentioned, they surely followed you all too easily from Ashenvale, but that doesn't take away the fact that it sure as hell is something that's monitored on the Horde side.
Do you honestly expect me to take all the amounts of crap I'm getting for what I bothered to organize here? There used to be a time that you didn't need to have tons of consequences in order for something to be IC. There used to be times that you could do something IC and simply accept that fact that the world wasn't going to change because Blizzard won't do anything with it. AWs were like that just as much. You don't need a complicated, long-lasting plot in order to get something rolling. Not having IC consequences doesn't have to equal being borderline OOC at a whim.
Honestly, if you're going to have a stab at me for simply stating something that was actually true, without even having mentioned anything of a generalization, whilst trying to blame the likes of me who tried to get a friendly, old-fashioned AW up and getting for it in return, I'm definitely not motivated to do this kind of a thing again. Not even tomorrow.

I quoted the exact point of his post. He admitted there were OOCers there, which is hard to deny. As I said, I don't organize these kind of things in order to have OOCers run around at random and corpsecamp (as a result having the majority of us be unable to mount a proper defense) and spit on people and yell in OOC.That's not me generalizing, that's me stating a fact. Take it or leave it as you please, but don't go flaming -me- for it.Veratic wrote:Yes, go ahead and quote the text where you can strike. That is indeed very cunning.

I blame you for organising an awesome event ~ and for drawing the usual "Alliance weren't IC'ly" card.
And as stated above.

So we have an issue with Tashun because he OOCly raided Org after a RP event? or did he act OOCly in said RP event?

Re: [A-H] [RP-PvP] The Anniversary War 2010
There will always be OOCers on big events like this, especially if they are advertised on the realm forums. And that include both factions (or do we need to remind people about the fight at Thoradin's wall not long ago?) so, just drop it and talk about what you enjoyed and what you can improve etc instead? A few OOCers does not represent the whole of the Alliance, or Horde.

I introduced my mace to Gogol, this once I'm calling it Susan, Susan was very happy with the color Gogol made.
Susan was not happy that Krist was made to run around like a crazy gnome, she didn't get to say hello to more people.

Fine, it was morally wrong for me to do that, it was just a bit of fun while I bubble hearthed (which got mass dispelled anyway), and while this wouldn't justify it, the simple fact is the Orgrimmar raid was as OOC as a Goon naked in Stormwind Cathedral
