[A Event] Castaway (05-02-2010)

"The storm blew in all directions. It whirled around us, and it whirled us around. Ferocious gusts heeled us over as if we were sailing in a high wind, even though we did not have any sail deployed. It was an amazing sight to see the waves change direction so rapidly that we might have been in a huge mixing bowl. At one point, we realized that we were being dragged close to the reef in the cove, so our captain drove into the wind to avoid collision, but it was too late, our vessel smashed upon the rocks and all aboard were plunged into the inky waters..."

The next day we awoke upon the uncharted shores of an island, we had become..castaways.

Information:
For far too long we have been sailing in transport ships across the oceans, and all we got was a lousy loading screen. It is time to change that! Your character was sailing on board of a transport ship when it shipwrecked. Now facing the challenge of survival on a uninhabited isle far away from rules and civilization.

When will this event take place?
On Friday, 5 February. Starting at 18.30

Where will the event take place?
We meet up in Ratchet before we leave to the island, if you decide to come later you can whisp me for an invite. Alternatively, you can ask me for a calendar invite before the event starts.

Are there any special rules for this event?
Yes, mainly that your character has lost all his gear in the shipwreck, you are only allowed to keep *two* items, be it a weapon, tool or food..etc; Also, all your teleport devices, portal runes and hearthstones are lost at sea as well. You can keep your regular armor on, but it would be nice if you "dressed for the occasion"

I made it at the event, what should I do now?
You roleplay your character of course, while I have some things planned, this is not a scripted event where players are reduced to spectators. You now have the opportunity to RP your character in a different situation then usual, namely that of a castaway. The fun comes with interacting with your fellow survivors.

How long will the event last? Am I supposed to remain present for the whole duration?
The duration of the event will depend on the ammount of people, the idea is to keep it going as long as possible, but I do hope to finnish before 21.00. If you have to leave earlier, you are of course free to do so, just be sure to give an IC excuse.


I am Horde, can I attend as well?
You are out of luck, it was an "Alliance" ship. but you are of course free to set up your own castaway event.

I'llt try be there, can't promise much for friday though.

My items will be a keg of beer (which I used for floating and surviving the shipwreck) and a wooden board with a nail on it.

And no clothes, well maybe pants for everyone's enjoyment.

Damn it, that event added another drop to the bowl. :< I so wanna transfer to alliance side.

The avatar suggested your toon was human to me but then again i've seen you go around Stormwind [And i've let you live for some reason]. o_O

I'd consider rolling a dwarf just for that, it sounds really fun, and Fridays are normally free days for me.. but I already have arpee plans for that Friday :/

Let me live? I'm impressed by your attention. :3 Actually I just love Stormwind as a city, and spend my time there while queue'd for dungeons \ BGs \ arenas now.
