Re: Racism conversation
And as I said, earlier too, "It's the internet, get over it" is nothing I support I'd tell you the same things in person as I've said anywhere over the internet.
grammar
1. Etular: No people takes offense in being called white?
If I am to nitpick here..
When non Norwegians use Potato as a curse word, racists remark against us white Norwegians I laugh - shake my head or if I am in a bad mood respond to them in their native language call them shit bags and tell them to go and do certain things with their mothers, still in their own native tongue..
Now I am bi sexual.. I have hmmm coloured friends, african friends who yells yo nigger or yo yellow ass to other friends of mine.. now..
I call them niggers and yellow too as they do call me whity or gay..
We live in a world where everyone should yes, in this case grow a back bone. If you get offended by the use of the word gay - in this case.. I do not see the problem with the use of the word gay.. How ever had someone called anyone pin pointed a person and said: You gay faggot.. It would be directly offensive and I would be sending in a mod report.. if someone calls someone a w****, or anything of the like then yes, be offended.
But even gay people, black people, yellow people, white people, red people, grey people, satanic people, wiccan people and what ever you want to point out as a group and add a word too... if they get offended by minor not individually said words, if its not directly said:
"I hate black people. Black people are cheap nasty and so on... Incert rude words.." = WRONG AND yes OFFENCIVE: Why??
History teaches us apparently what we should or can see as offencive..
I wouldnt offend a gay jew by calling him gay, or her gey but I would offend a jew if.. I started acting nazi..
Same thing with black people if I started treating them as slaves..
Now.. I dont know when in the history that gay people have been directly hunted down more than any witches, african people, gipsies, jews.. So yes I do know gay people have been discriminated etc.. Hey I am one. Look at Geroge Bush, Gay marriages should be illegal..
Well... None denied anyone to be gay in this thread or pointed at said person saying something offencive so I am sorry people but this is wayyyy over the top of what I can possibly grasp..
If someone gets discriminated for being gay though give me a call!
I think this whole thread is -really gay - ^_^
Signed: Bisexual - multi religious - freak, macho, female, feminie, WHITE yet possibly offended by the use of the discriminating tone added to the word white by a non white person. Good hunting

But I do not accept the " It's the internet, get over it. " excuse, However I welcome healthly debate on the topic and once again apologise if my attitutude might've suggested otherwise.
I didn't say get over it, I said human decency goes out the window, proof?
Does that offend you, that people make jokes about a mans death?

I am offended because someone keeps posting in this thread which I in my personal opinion feels is just based on a missunderstanding to begin with and thus entirely a huge long waste of peoples time, who like I can only blame myself for actually reading it. Read it out of curioucity and realized soon after how silly it can be.
And no I am not "dissing" peoples opinions in this case. I simply feel this thread is way out of line considering what actually was said. We all take things differently, see things in our own unique way but this is making a feather into a godzillion chickens.
Close thread please?^^

Re: Racism conversation
The whole issue I have with " Grow a backbone " is the fact it's not possible for some people, and nots your place to tell people what to do . Hence the whole reasoning, of " Were multi-cultural, and sexuality, creed. But if you get offended, GROW UP! " not working with me. Manners please. kkthnxbai. Not forcing my opinion, just demonstrating.

Re: Racism conversation
Vect if someone had actually been rude to someone instead of saying: that is gay... its not like someone did dance down the street a man with make up being called gay just cause he is "emo" - "gothic" - "freak" - " a metal head" and someone assumed he was gay.. its like saying something sucks.. Which doesnt mean that we dont respect your views or Etulars views or the views of anyone else here. What we try to say is: There was no intension of offending anyone in this thread. No one got pin pointed, it was another way of saying: that sucks.. As women tend to generally do that sucking part more than men doesnt mean I get offended by people using the word suck, and by saying more women does it should then offend all male gay people? this is the point here. It wasnt meant to be offensive it generally isnt offencive and sorry if that hurts but there must be some minimal limits to what people can not say. If not it goes to far.

Yes, but! As I touched upon, some words transcends context or intent and for some, the word gay does just that.
I don't want to drag this further on, but the burden that some homosexuals feels their preferences brings about is the last thing they want to be reminded about when they just want to play a game or read some topic.

Why do you people keep saying "this sucks" as negative? Don't you see it might be offensive to women (or men) who like to perform oral sex?

Re: Racism conversation
Then surely those people could PM a moderator telling they were OFFENDED! Not having the whole world speak in their stead, when they might not actually give a damn.
Or? :S Just wondering.
