[A] Murders Most Foul, and the Stormwind Epidemic!
- OOC:
- Posting this as a tie in to a personal story arc that may be interesting to others
On the 3rd of October, in the early hours of the morning, the Authorities in the city of Stormwind were notified of a gruesome slaughter on the roads of Elwynn forest. The mangled limbs of two unidentifiable bodies, seeped in blood, was found between Goldshire and the Westbrook garrison. What remained of the bodies gave little evidence (beyond numerous, precise cuts and tears) of what brought about their terrible demise, however the area was soon discovered to have traces of distorted Fel energy, which ripple through what remains of the victims.
- OOC:
- Due to the murderer being currently indiscriminate concerning who is killed, if anyone who wishes to investigate this wants to name the victims (after further investigation) in an official report they are welcome to do so.
This will hopefully be the first of many of these murders, and while little evidence will be provided at first, a pattern will emerge as things go on. Eventually the murderer will begin to target players (with their permission) who will likely be the first survivors of an attack. Who knows what clues they may provide!
This topic will also be used to keep track of murders and investigations, so feel free to contribute! If you wish to learn more feel free to contact me in game on Anthaniel-DefiasBrotherhood.

Another attack, this time on a patrol near the Eastvale Logging Camp. Six guards were found dead on the road from the camp to Goldshire. Nearby was found the body of a civilian, a magic user of some kind (type yet to be be determined).
The guards bodies have fallen as if they were all in formation when they were killed. Their faces are frozen with expressions of horror, their throats all neatly slit. Where the formation stood, strange evidence was to be found. A faint purple sigil is emblazoned beneath their feet, as if burnt into the road, and traces of Fel fire can be noticed mere steps ahead of the formation. The civilian was found on the side of the road, behind a copse of trees. Skid marks, and the state of his clothes, suggest he was dragged off the road, where he would have been in sight of the guards if he was there at the time of their deaths. The magic user also bore a strange expression on his face, a dazed look of immense happiness. His throat also slit, it appears his belongings have been gone through, with the contents of a bag thrown out beside him.
The incident was reported to the authorities around sunrise by the residents of the logging camp. Again, no one has claimed to have witnessed the attack.

Hrmh, now this sounds like it's getting quite interesting.
Would it be possible to join in with this in some fashion?

Most definitely! In the near future players will become targets, and certain groups of individuals will be singled out over others as targets. This will be after some build up, but for now people can open investigations, talk about it, even spread rumors both false and correct. If people want to be involved in the first player attack scenario I could see to creating an event in the future for it.

Well I can say for sure that Hutchins would be quite interested in investigating this, especially due to the nature of the crimes!

A poster was found, pinned up to the front of Stormwinds Cathedral for all to see. Soon after it was found it was taken down by officials. Witnesses say the parchment was leathery, but it was unlike the animal leather people are accustomed too. Some say it was the skin of a citizen, but the authorities are quick to deny such claims. Written in dark, scarlet lettering that shimmered in the sun, was a message to the people of Stormwind:

- Just want to say thanks to everyone who took part in the investigation last night. It gives a lot of hope to the future of this project. Who knows? We may be starting something grand!
Two more cases, this time on the same night. Onlookers were shocked as the Deeprun Tram pulled into Stormwind from Ironforge in the early hours of the morning. 5 corpses arrived at the station, in plain view of a janitor and a couple of late night passengers. 4 of the bodies were horribly mutilated, and appeared to have been bludgeoned to death, some with their own limbs. These four included three humans and a dwarf. The fifth body appeared basically human. It lay in the center of the tram car. The body was largely swollen, and it's skin was a sickly, pale green. It's cause of death seems to be internal rupturing, with it's veins bulging and bursting through its skin. It's eyes seem to have melted; the eye sockets are blackened and burned, with a mixture of eye and blood forming a putrid lake in the crater like eye holes. This disfigured ones hands are seeped in blood, with rough, long nails.
Further investigation along the tunnel between the cities found more blood and limbs, and more bodies. In total, 11 corpses (not counting the deceased supposed attacker) were found along the line, in various states of disfigurement. All in all 6 humans, 4 dwarves, a gnome, and the large, disfigured human. The bodies were taken for examination and autopsy.
Seemingly unrelated, 3 fishermen were found drowned beneath the drawbridge leading to the cities keep. The guards say they did not see or hear any disturbances until the bodies were found. Slight bruising and scratches can be found on the corpses of the fishermen.

Re: [A] Murders Most Foul, and the Stormwind Epidemic!
Two men, both Dwarves, walked straight out of the Mystic Ward in Ironforge in the early hours of the morning, and leaped into the molten mixture that flows beneath the forge itself. Guards on night duty witnessed the occurrence, and have stated it happened quickly and unexpectedly.
The men, despite no bodies being retrievable, were recognized by the witnesses. The one worked as a guard and was set for an early morning shift in the Mystic Ward, guarding the Hall of Mysteries. The other, a priest, works in the Hall, and was staying late to do some caretaking.
A few hours into the investigation, in the morning ours, it was discovered that the Hall of Mysteries, as well as a few buildings in the Forlorn Caverns, had been scoured by an unknown individual, with numerous items strewn across the floors of the locations. A number of books have been reported missing from the Hall, while owners and proprietors in the Caverns have preferred not to provide details.
It happened teh quickly teh stop 'em. Ye wouldn' 'ave expected it. They came oot, smiling widely. 'Och, I would say they seemed euphoric even. I waved teh the one, I knew 'im from the barracks. He waved back, and they just leaped, silently. Tha' is...until the screaming started..

Re: [A] Murders Most Foul, and the Stormwind Epidemic!
The Stormwind Council, Attacked!
At the ninth bell on Tuesday the 18th, just like every Tuesday, the Council of Stormwind convened to allow matters to be discussed and announcements to be made. It started as it always does, but ended in chaos. Torrents of Demons and Fel creatures cascaded upon the council chambers, culminating in the arrival of a fearsome Dreadlord of the Legion. Many were killed, and many more injured while driving back the onslaught.
Some say it was an attempt on the councilors lives, to destabilize Stormwind from the top down. Others say it was to be the start of an invasion in the Eastern Kingdoms by the Legion itself. What nobody doubts however, is that it was orchestrated from within the cities walls...
Here is a summary of the events for those who were there, and for those who may have looked into it otherwise:
- A group of four children entered the council chambers at the opening of the event, standing in the corner alongside a number of attendees.
- As speakers started to be called up, the kids spread out to each corner of the room.
- As council announcements began, the children approached the table, chanting what is now believed to be a sacrificial spell. They killed themselves upon a sigil initially hidden by magic in the center of the room, their deaths ripping open a portal above the table.
- A first wave of demons poured into the room, and battle was joined. One Azapha Hutchins stepped forward, ignoring the waves of enemies, focused on the portal. Some say she her behavior was indicative of a casting.
- As the last demons fell, Azapha was said to have stepped through the portal. Mere moments later a Dreadlord by the name of Guzz Jarzik stepped forth, who seemingly recognised some around the room (especially Azaphas husband).
- Battle was joined, with both the Dreadlord and most of the attendees trapped in the chamber behind a Fel Ward. Both sides fought with great ferocity! The ward was cast down for a moment, allowing brave souls to join the fight others to flee! More demons were summoned by the Demon.
- Many died, many were injured, but as the Demon tried to escape he was cast down, leaving an ominous threat as his body dissipated.
- The injured were attended too, and the dead were taken away. The woman who entered the portal had not returned.
- Rumors say the Illidari, due to this attack and recent events, wish to have a presence on the Stormwind Council.
Among the dead:
- Numerous Stormwind Guards, and nobles who attended
- Irisse Petalweaver
- Gwyn
- Bavragor Stormbrew
The event was a big part of my current story line, and hopefully many people will find reasons to join in now! It is open for everyone and if it becomes a wider community arc I would be very happy!
Also, to make it a bit more intense...don't read if you don't like any OOC spoilers!

- OOC Stuff:
- Hey all. If I am inactive over the next week or so, dont think I have abandoned this story or anything! I just got all four of my heavily compacted wisdom teeth taken out about 4 hours ago, and the pain is pretty bad so I will only be playing when I feel I can stand it.
Good news is that I have the week off work, so it may counterbalance the time I take away due to the pain.
See you all soon

- OOC:
- So an actual player character was killed tonight!
Vanthir Moonguard, notable for being one of the few male commanders in the Night Elf armed forces, did not return to his post after he and his regiment arrived in Stormwind in the early evening on Wednesday. He was last seen heading to the Blue Recluse, where he was apparently told to meet a guard captain of Stormwinds own guards. He has not been seen since, and no one within the ranks of the city guards were aware he was even in the city, let alone arranged to meet with any of them.

Re: [A] Murders Most Foul, and the Stormwind Epidemic!
Westfall Bridge, Monday the 13th of November, Early Morning
Two bodies were found tangled beneath the bridge between Westfall and Elwynn Forest after a couple of morning fishermen noticed strange silhouettes among the reeds. Soon after their discovery they were raised from their watery grave; two Kaldorei Demon Hunters.
It is clear the pair, both male, did not drown. They had sustained various injuries before their lives ended, including many clean and smooth cuts, a cracked skull + snapped horns, and a few broken ribs. It wasn't long before the Illidari arrived to claim the bodies. After taking the corpses back to their redoubt in the city, they made it public they had found evidence of a Soul Drain being used at some point on the victims.
Searches along the river provided further evidence. There are signs of struggle north of the bridge from Duskwood to Westfall, and four warglaives were found in the river bed, one shattered from what is presumed to be sheer force of an impact. The scene of the struggle suggests that there was three people present, all humanoid, and that (given the evidence alluding to the close proximity of the three before the event) the pair had little warning prior.
Now having had multiple attacks on their own people, the Illidari have declared intentions to extend the reach of their patrols to the outlying regions of the Kingdom of Stormwind, as well as increasing their monitoring of the activities of Fel Users. Official authorities have asked that all remain calm, but exercise caution when going about their daily lives.

Re: [A] Murders Most Foul, and the Stormwind Epidemic!
The Week of the 28th of November to the 4th of December
Increasing amounts of Stormwinds citizens appear to be falling ill, with what appears to be a sickness fairly similar to an advanced stomach bug. Symptoms include intense pain within the stomach and chest, vomiting, and diarrhea. These fairly standard symptoms are, however, strangely joined by more unusual ones, including aggression, increased strength (despite the pain), and hyperactivity. As of yet it has not been connected to any known food or waterborne illnesses.
- SPOILER: OOC Info:
- The murderer has continued the poisoning of Stormwinds water supplies, referring to wells, rivers, and the canals. The sickness is due to Fel contamination, but this will not be made public unless a Player Character investigates the matter and is able to identify the cause. Those who are affected are currently random, so anyone is welcome to RP the sickness to any degree they wish (or RP not having the disease, as it is luck of the draw who gets it). Eventually, and this is another SPOILER, the contamination will lead to violent outbursts from infected NPCs and/or willing players, and eventually deaths. Get in contact for more information about this if you want to get involved!
