Campaign Conclusion:
The conflict below the Northern Pines ended on the seventh day since the start of the conflict. Early in the evening, both Horde and Alliance forces assembled and launch raids to Fort Wildevar and Camp Oneqwah. Afterwards the Horde assembled into a large strike force and laid siege on Westguard Keep. Making use of the stolen Zeppelin and the bulk of their ground forces The Horde breached through Alliance defenses at Westguard Keep and set the Keep aflame. Several other buildings were also damaged, the fort walls have seen better days and the airdocks were damaged badly by the Horde Zeppelin.
Meanwhile, with the Horde distracted by their assault to Westguard Keep a small group of Alliance led by Captain Ralegh of Stormwind Regiment was determined to bring souvenirs back from the North. The Horde forces left at Conquest Hold were unprepared for the sudden assault and were pushed back for long enough for the Alliance to manage steal the huge throne from the Hold with them. The loot-hungry Worgen captain was not yet satisfied and launched a raid on Camp Oneqwah. Already weakened by the earlier Alliance raid, the group managed to take a Totem pole with them, which they dragged a long way to Fort Wildevar.
The Horde now controls most of the Howling Fjord and Grizzly Hills. With both Venture Bay and Tol Barad in their grasp, the naval strength of the Horde is growing dangerously high. A small spark of hope yet remains. Thanks for the brave actions of Captain Ralegh, the Horde is now Throne-less and Totem-less - A grim reminder for the Horde not to leave their bases undefended.

- Campaign Information:
- For a long time have the ancient pines of the north sway quietly, undisturbed by other than the wind. The Vrykul, by the death of their king and god have withdrawn to their villages and a tense peace remain between the natives and the outsider invaders. Restless spirits of Vrykul ancestors have resumed their rest and the Iron Dwarves have withdrawn to their strongholds. Howling wind blows. Yet, peace is so fragile. In the archeological digs in the area, squabbles have broken between explorers of the two faction. Humans, Taunaka, Vrykul and Wolvar sabotage eachothers traps when the shared hunting grounds no longer provides enough. Soon, patrols of the Horde is found dead and barrels of plague being smuggled into Alliance keeps are found. What was once a spark now burn bright in the flames of hatred. The drums of war thunder once again.
Northern Pines Campaign is one week long RP-PvP Campaign, located in Howling Fjord and Grizzly Hills. The Campaign will start by the Alliance initiative, announced in the Stormwind Council and leading into a War Meeting between participating orders. The Horde will have a call-to-arms of their own and will arrive to defend their territories.
The Campaign is led purely based on In-Character decisions. There is no pre-set "plan" how things will turn out. Cunning strategies developed by the leaders and individual alike (see points below) will decide the outcome of the Campaign.
Battles
There will be no pre-determined dates set for the Campaign beforehand. Battles between the two factions can happen anywhere, anytime. Players are encouraged to gather their own groups and go out into the wilds in search of enemies or attack enemy camps.
Larger battles with a date may be arranged during the Campaign, but they won't be the bread-and-butter of this Campaign.
Roleplayed Actions
During the Campaign player creativity is strongly encouraged as it may affect the outcome. Characters got the permission to use ships to travel along the coast, bury a town with an avalanche, blow up bridges, sabotage lifts, enslave/ally/negotiate with the natives, steal proto-drakes and harpoon guns from the Vrykul, build barricades, conquer towns, perform magical rituals of Doom, launch a gyrocopter raids or anything they may come up with. One requirement however apply.
Any larger roleplayed action must be communicated with the event organizers. Why? Our main objective is to prevent out-of-character drama and make sure the experience is enjoyable for everyone. We will want to limit actions that are considered power-emotes (actions that cannot be be countered or evaded, like Theramore Mana-Bomb v2.)
On top of that, we must keep the map updated, and for that we need to be informed.
*Roleplayed actions during PvP Combat are discouraged, because these two use completely different mechanics that doesn't really work together. Some actions may be done beforehand, between rounds or after, but not during.
Note about Forsaken Chemical Weapons: (checked with the Forsaken leader)
The Forsaken Blight (The Wrathgate stuff) is strictly forbidden In Character and is highly unlikely to be encounter. Other Forsaken chemical mixtures and gasses used to cripple for a certain amount of time or poison the food may be encountered. However, none of such will be lethal.
The Map
The map is used to mark faction control zones and changes in the environment. We are limited by the game mechanics, and can not physically alter the game-world, but we can mark "additions" to the map and treat them IC. Battle sites, blown up bridges, Lumber Mills, Mines, Barricades, results of battles and outcome of Roleplayed actions can all be marked on the map.
Native Presence
The warzone make home for a number of NPC factions of their own, including Vrykul, Worgen, Wolvar, Tuskarr, Trolls, Storm & Earth Giants, Pirates, Furbolg, The Venture Co., Murlocks, and Iron Dwarves. All these factions can be interact with (in a way or another). Characters are able to try diplomacy, trade, ally with, slaughter or enslave the natives as they see fit. Do take the factions hostility and other racial factors into account when interacting with.
Rules
- PvP is considered In Character.
- Be prepared to defend yourself anywhere, anytime.
- You can attack and raze enemy camps. Just check with the enemy if there is any RP elements/players stationed at.
- No flying mounts during battles
- No ressing during battles (neither by spell or corpse-running)
- No Corpse-camping. Give your opponents time to ress after battle.
- Numbers of people during battles will be balanced to ensure both sides are having fun. You may be asked to wait for your turn.
- PvP Gear is strongly recommended. PvE gear is allowed* (*PvE gear is allowed in lack of other. However, if you appear with 900k Hp and Legendary Cloak animation expect to be treated like a Raid Boss: No mercy, facing superior numbers and CC-chained to hell)
*Please remember that the intention is to have fun and small breaches and mistakes are best to left alone. If larger, take it to the organizers.

Vrykul Artefacts are four powerful, cursed relics of the Vrykul rumored to be connected to the reappearance of the Kvaldri. They were returned back to the earth by adventurers long ago and have been undisturbed ever since. While their power could be made use, who will dare to face the curse?
Traps are a result of "Hunter's War", a series of ongoing hostilities between in between Taunaka of Camp Frosthoof, Humans of Fort Wildevar, Vrykul of Skörn and Wolvar of Cauldron Isle. The Human settlers are over-hunting which in turn have upset the balance in the area. While the game runs thin the Hunters now hunt eachother, prey the roads and fill the woods with traps.
Archaelogical Dig's are battlefields between The Explorer's Leaque of the Alliance and The Reliquary of the Horde. While no military might of their own, the two constantly steal from each other and require external assistance to drive the competition away.
- 11/3 - 16/3:
- 11/3 - Tuesday:
Alliance heard firsthand about the increase of hostilities up in the North during Stormwind Council, when a former military commander, "Inran" and Spymaster Helmut Spoon presented evidence and scouting reports. It was decided to act upon it before the Horde would and a War Council was called to gather on Thursday at 21.00 in Stormwind Keep.
12/3 - Wednesday:
The Horde gathered by the town of Brill to discuss matters of War.- Image:

13/3 - Thursday:
The Alliance gathered for their War Council. Various topics ranging from tactics to logistics were discussed and Spymaster Helmut Spoon was elected as the leader of the Campaign forces. Secondary leaders and advisors selected were Director Shadowsong, Lieutenant Silversong, Director Shadow and High Chaplain Indarys.

15/3 & 16/3 - Saturday & Sunday:
Several Horde organisations have arrive to Howling Fjord and meetings between leaders of those orders have already happen.
Task Force "Wild Tempest" was sighted as the only stationed force in Valgarde. Majority of the Alliance are yet packing their ships in Menethil Harbor for the long travel to Northrend, expecting to arrive during afternoon of the next day.
Expect for several Alliance agency reports, the day passed on uneventfully.Kyph wrote:- Guards at Venture Bay notified of the presence of a giant bat flying over the base currently contested, and after confirmation of being a Horde scout -a troll druid- an agent was sent immediately. The spy was located observing from the top of the mast of a ship, so the rogue climbed from behind and dealt with him before he could get support from other Horde units in the area. Inspection of the corpse showed insignias from the Blood Wolf Clan.
- Contact with another agent sent to monitor the activities at Vengeance Landing was lost. Last information received indicated the disembarkment of troops from the Horde faction known as Thirst, but no further details have been received, so everything indicates the agent has been compromised and is now dead or worse.
- High activity has been observed at Conquest Hold. A large detachment from the Shaterskull Marauders was seen, although it was not possible to obtain details about the reason for the presence of this task force. However a small delegation was followed by one of our assassins leaving the fortress towards Camp Winterhoof, intercepting them shortly before reaching their destination. One of the ambassadors was killed and the assassin left the scene with only minor wounds, however unable to retrieve any documents. Further monitoring of the activity at the Tauren outpost from the hills revealed the nature of the travel: the Blood Knight Order is already operating in the Fjord, as four of their paladins had a meeting with the delegation for several hours.

While the Horde and Alliance were having tactical meetings of their own, the Horde was scouting the surroundings of Camp Winterhoof and Venture Bay. Soon after the Alliance was finished with their meeting, the Horde attacked Westguard Keep. The battle raged for several hours with neither side having an edge, but towards the end the Horde proved more tenacious and pushed through the Alliance lines and managed to pillage within the interior of the keep before being pushed out.
Westguard Keep walls are left darkened and the fields before the gates are soaked in blood. The Alliance may have lost this day but the War have merely started.
- Assassin's Report:
- As it is well known, waiting at airports for several hours causes brain damage. Here's the result of my last seizure in front of my laptop (hopefully I won't bore you to death; if TL/DR there's always the screenshots!)
The old man sat back and sighed in satisfaction as he added his last notes to the manuscript. "This time you've outdone yourself, Ortell", he said to himself. It was seven months ago when he first saw what turned out to be a travel log, brought by an adventurer seeking answers about the Twilight cult. Most of the pages were damaged, when not stained with drops of blood and mud, but from the calligraphic code his trained eyes only needed a glance to know it was no Twilight document. Nonetheless –or precisely because of this- he was intrigued and managed to convince the visitor to lend him the notebook for a week first, then a month, and again and again until he gave up and never came back.
But Ortell had not forgotten, oh no. He would spend most of his spare time working on these pages, fascinated and more decided than ever to try to find answers - even if he wasn't sure what the questions were in the first place. And after all that time he had finally made it. Sure, most of the text was missing, and without a proper corpus some passages were -he decided- truly indecipherable, but nobody would've been able to go as far as he had. As the daylight was dying he lit a candle and started reading, once more, the transcription he had gotten so familiar with.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
We're getting closer to the coast. Except for the cold heavy rain in shaky waters, poor food and even worse company, it hasn't been such a bad trip. It still beats those two days hiding between gear wheels inside a Zeppelin for that job in Grom'gol. Hell, my back still hurts just by thinking about it. As we approach the harbor I begin to see Alliance war banners of the many factions gathering at Valgarde. The outer walls are severely damaged from what I assume has been a recent assault attempt, as the stench of funeral pyres fills the air. A small detachment guards the East while most of the Alliance army starts marching towards Westguard Keep. Mere rumours of Horde activity in the continent have quickly become large scale operations all over Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord. War in the snow, once again.
I've decided to inspect the terrain myself. It's been long since the last time I worked in Northrend and although I've been studying reports of the activities of the locals since my brief stop in Menethil, these now seem outdated by the recent events.
My first stop is New Agamand. As expected a large Horde army is stationed there.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
As I try to estimate their numbers a thin column of smoke gets my attention. I leave my horse and follow the perimeter on foot across the woods. To my surprise, outside the Forsaken garrison I locate a group sitting around a campfire. Detailed inspection through my binoculars identifies two different factions; diverse mounted troops from Dominion seem to have just approached the encampment where a few Tauren and Pandaren initially immersed in some kind of ritual have stopped to receive them. It looks like they are trying to have them join their military forces without success so I wait until the cavalry leaves to get closer.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
As I start walking towards the camp they notice my presence and quickly take defensive positions, so I raise my hands not without discretely attaching one of my daggers up my sleeve first. I allow myself to be seen clearly but stop walking when some of the Tauren start growling menacingly at me; I'm now close enough to notice the unequivocal tribal garments of Path of Dawnchaser, a peaceful faction however reputed for also having formidable warriors, so I decide I have all the information I need and start retreating. As I begin to walk away they seem relieved, although I still get some suspicious looks while I disappear into the foliage.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Back on my horse I start riding North, towards Camp Winterhoof, as recent reports had showed troop movements in the area. I find trails on the path but they seem cold leads and the harsh weather of Northrend has wiped most of them by now. I then travel West to make a brief stop at Westguard Keep to feed my mount and inspect the state of the frontline, only to find I have to avoid Horde units as the fortress is already under siege. I take a minute to leave my horse at the stables and then run towards the northern walls where most of the combat is taking place. I'm told several guards have been killed by horde infiltrators crossing the bridge, so I offer my help with the counterespionage to the local batallion, which in the midst of the chaos they accept without asking too many questions. We are successful in neutralizing several enemy agents but not without losing more valuable men to ambushes near the cliffs.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I reluctantly introduce myself to the battalion general at the command center, a gnome called Helmut who happens to be the military leader of the Task Force "Wild Tempest", core of the defense. Although I'm well aware of their reputation, and I've become personally familiar with their campaigns in Silithus, I receive his presence with skepticism; as much as I appreciate the strategic value of gnomish inventions I've always had trouble respecting them in the field, and this gnome in particular seems no exception, especially after quickly dismissing my complaints about the urgent need to deploy gunmen to cover the hole the North bridge was. I try to keep my temper and smooth things out with what probably was just an unfortunate rough start by agreeing to join one of their scout parties, and then leave when officers from other units start gathering around us.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
As I hear news of a large Horde regiment marching from the South, I get back on my horse to try to gather some first hand information. I travel South myself and then use the Ancient Lift to reach the Tuskarr village of Kamagua, where the locals seem unaware of the most recent military events happening in the continent. While casually talking to one of the inhabitants of the isle using my love of fishing as an excuse to gather potential intel, I notice I’m slowly being surrounded by the group from Path of Dawnchaser I had met earlier this afternoon. They’re less hostile this time as they see I’m welcome among the Tuskarr, although some of them still look distrustful. I wave at them in what I hope looks like a peaceful gesture, feeling like at any time someone’s gonna start dancing with worgs, and once I’m confident they no longer perceive me as a threat I ride away, back to the keep.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Westguard is under attack again. Wave after wave the Horde is repelled, but each time they get dangerously closer to the gates, to the point that I have my doubts about our chances; if Westguard falls, the access to Grizzly Hills will be seriously compromised. In order to assess the situation a scouting party is finally assembled, and which I join. My first impression is ambivalent, seeing a heterogeneous group of both inexperienced and seasoned rogues and druids. Just as we are about to leave the fortress Horde forces push the front gate again, but the defensive line holds long enough for us to get through.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
We ride South to study the defenses of the two main Forsaken bases in the Fjord; New Agamand and Vengeance Landing. We hide our mounts in the woods near New Agamand and infiltrate into their base, now only lightly guarded, which confirms the Horde has mobilized most of their contingent in East Northrend to lay siege to Westguard. While leaving New Agamand I get the feeling we are being followed, but cannot confirm it visually and the rest of the company doesn’t seem to share my concerns. At Vengeance Landing we have to deal with some guards after one of the rookies makes them aware of our presence. I’m unsure whether the noise has alerted anybody else. We then take the lift where ((the rest of the passage is too damaged to be read))
By the time we get back to Westguard, following the road from Camp Winterhoof, the situation is desperate. After an intense battle the defensive line is finally broken and Horde units run rampant into the buildings closer to the South gate. They are eventually dispersed but the devastation is evident; besides the alarming body count among the Alliance forces, most of the defensive structures have been partially or totally destroyed, and even the inn, where most of the wounded had been allocated when the infirmary was overrun, has suffered heavy damage.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
As I sit by the wreckage of one of the inner barricades, wondering about the future of this harsh land, I recognize the man walking towards me. My second in command is finally here, and with him more of my men with news of the military campaign taking place all over the region. We slowly walk away from the rest and look for a discrete place where to discuss what the next move of the Assassins will be…

-The Alliance have begun construction of fortifications to fill the holes in Westguard Keep walls. It will take time to be finished.
-Mages of the Alliance have prepared a magical barrier that, upon empowerment, would protect Westguard Keep from the Horde. It is composed of five runes around the Keep connected to a central one, used to empower the barrier.
-A group of Horde soldiers and a few goblins stole the Zeppelin patrolling over the sea west of Westguard Keep, steering it to Conquest Hold and anchoring it to the main building. A brave Dwarf Gyrocopter pilot followed but was eventually driven back, unable to bring the zeppelin down by himself.
-This act of thievery sparked anger among the Alliance, who soon departed on a [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. As a result, Apothecary Camp was razed by the Alliance. Equipment were broken down, barricades burned and banner peed on. The Horde responded to this act by razing Amberpine Lodge in turn. Battered, bruised but yet standing - the Lodge was not burned down for some strange reason.
-The Zeppelin stolen by the Horde is being fortified with Flak cannons and armor plates.
(Horde won 5-3 of RP-PvP battles)
19/3 - Wednesday:
The Alliance and the Horde clashed in a series of bloody battles on the outskirts of Westguard Keep and elsewhere in the wilds. Hostages were both taken and rescued between the battling armies. While the skirmishes lasted for many hours, no ground was won by either side.
Meanwhile, those of Horde stationed on Camp Winterhoof are concerned about further attacks on their camp, after the attempted raid last night. Time will show if they will make out of it with a relieved sigh or a burning camp.
20/3 - Thursday:
Earlier day, the Horde had managed to shoot a Druid down from the sky and were keeping him prisoner. The Alliance mounted a rescue operation and fortunately managed to capture an enemy scout on their way to Conquest Hold. While Negotiations about trading prisoners took place, another group tried to infiltrate the Horde base to free the prisoner. In the end, the stealth group was unsuccessful and prisoners were traded in good order.
- Assassin's Report:
- 'Are you going to let me finish the story or what?', Kyph said, irritated.
The young apprentice petrified. An annoyed eye was glaring at his. Instinctively he looked at where her other eye should be only to meet a leather patch, so he quickly stared at the bottom of his mug.
'Y-yes, s-sorry', he muttered.
'Good'. She repressed a smirk.
'So there I was, following my routine patrol, when I arrived at Conquest Hold to come across the largest blood elf regiment I had seen in weeks, stationed in the base; I thought the whole damn Sunreavers had moved to Grizzly Hills until I started spotting detachments from other Horde factions as well.'
'I managed to avoid the outer guards to cross the exterior walls and saw many of those elves guarding the entrance of the main building alongside regular Warsong troops.'[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
'Using the tumult of the wolf cavalry as they were passing by I got one the guards from behind, hid the corpse, and used that thin gap in their defenses to go inside. I was not prepared for what I saw: they had three prisoners, two night elves -one seriously wounded- and a human upstairs.'[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
'I tried to get out the way I got in but there were now too many guards blocking the accesses to the stairs, so instead I climbed down the balcony. I rode east looking for the closest Alliance encampment when I located an Allied army crossing the bridge just south of Amberpine Lodge. I immediately talked to the officers who received my intel with interest as their mission was precisely to free those prisoners. I decided to join the task force, since those hostages could have vital information to decide the outcome of the campaign in Northrend.'[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
'Initially they tried the diplomatic approach. One thing was being at war and the other causing a bloodbath just to recover three people.'[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
'Needless to say, that didn't work out very well, and it quickly escalated to a tense standoff at the gates of the fortress.'[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
'What the Horde didn't know was that, meanwhile, a small stealth group was using the clash as a diversion to get inside. With most troops concentrated around the south gate, crossing the north wall and avoiding the few guards in the fortress was trivial. The hard part, however, would be getting the prisoners out.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
'Just as we were deciding how to proceed, the battle cries start-'
'Excuse me. Madam? We're closing.' It was Joachim Brenlow, the bartender.
Kyph hesitated, then silently nodded. As the young rogue gasped in disappointment, Kyph stood up, quickly drained her drink, grabbed several silver coins from her pockets and left them on the table.
'Sorry, kid. Maybe some other time.' And she walked away.
- Kyph
21/3 - Friday:
The Battle for the dominance of Venture Bay took place. The Alliance battle luck seemed only to be going down with new reinforcements from Conquest Hold. By the end of the day, Horde flag was raised up above Venture Bay. The Alliance attempted to turn the disadvantage to advantage by laying siege on the Blue Sky Logging Camp. They were successful in slaughtering peons and guards until reinforcements from Conquest Hold arrive, but were drive away quickly after. Days are starting to look grim for the Alliance.
- Assassin's Report:
- Report on the Battle for Venture Bay
A large regiment was tracked going south from Conquest Hold to reinforce Venture Bay, currently under Horde control, likely because of leaked information about the Alliance army already marching to assault this position. Two assassins were dispatched in the field to disrupt their operations eliminating key personnel and gathering critical intel.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The Horde quickly adopted defensive positions in preparation for the Allied offensive.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
The Alliance charged, but quickly lost momentum as Horde frost mages caused havoc among their forces.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
In the confusion, the assassins struck, taking out strategic targets.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Despite the valiant efforts of the attacking army, the allied troops were repelled.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
They gathered for further counter-offensives to retake the harbour but all attempts were unsuccessful.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Finally, the Horde moved to secure the lighthouse which gave the Alliance a respite to regroup. They marched once more to battle, but the Horde was victorious and the base remained under their control.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

22/3 - Saturday:
The Alliance pushed a small team into New Agamand, where they caused truble until the arrival of the main Horde force, while shortly holding the initial force back they were overwhelmed and forced to push back and decided on a hit and run strategy.
While a small number of scouts kept harrassing new Agamand just to keep the Horde in place the rest of the group headed off into the direction of Vengance landing and Winterhoof. The plan was for the forces to confuse the possition of the Alliance with spliting up and harras the local Horde towns. While not any noticable victory and being pushed back by the Horde even later at Vengance landing the Alliance seemed to be pleased by even attacking a Taunka caravan along their way, regrouping up in the Hills after, battered, bruised and satisfied the Alliance continued with mainly scouting and tossing a few torches about yet nothing major.

Those following the Path of Dawnchaser will send a scouting party to ensure the safety of the Taunka villages after the rumours of increased Alliance activity.

Thorvald, I've already responded in this thread regarding CoKM. If you had checked the calendar beforehand, you'd notice that I have set up an event on Sunday regarding this matter.

Re: Northern Pines - RP-PvP Campaign, 17-23 March
Your question comes rather early Siegmund since neither Alliance or Horde have even reach the zone yet. Shatterskull Marauders and Wild Tempest are likely to enter Howling Fjord tonight. There is no pre-planned clash between them either, but things may lead into PvP. Who knows.
The very nature of this Campaign is "short-notice RP-WPvP encounters". We try to encourage people to take groups of their own to harass the enemy or work towards objectives, not to stick to the camp twirling their thumbs and waiting for the battle date. If you want PvP, by all means, go get some.

Re: Northern Pines - RP-PvP Campaign, 17-23 March
From my side, for PvP expect ambushes at any time, not necessarily hit&run depending on the groups involved (I know I'll show up and will bring company whenever possible). There will also be more or less obvious scouting, intended to cause paranoia both IC and OoC (you'll never know until you feel the cold steel up your spine). Besides everything else, I'd suggest doing quests in Grizzly Hills and in particular Venture Bay. Obviously it's not the same at 90 but it gives some free context to the action and serves as a rendezvous point for both factions.
Oh, and if anyone needs to add anything roguish (either faction) let me know and I'll try to arrange it.
