[A RP-PvP] Northern Vigil

IC (the following letter is nailed to the wall of taverns through Stormwind):

Fires lit the skies, lighting the way for the murderers. Screams echoed on the streets, signaling where the survivors were. Blood stained the streets, tainting the areas already searched.

The Culling of Stratholme. First pillar on the path for the fall of Lordaeron. Brothers, do not forget this sign of treachery: the day when the Traitor Prince slaughtered his own people, aiding the work of the Scourge. Because of the massacre in Stratholme, many men, women and children were lost. Men that could have defended their homes, women who could have supplied the valiant defenders, children who carried our hopes for a better future. All lost over such a short span of time, reduced to ashes and bloodied pavement stones.

The Traitor Prince is dead. The Scourge is in chaos.
But a new Scourge is on the rise, with a new leader. The elf, Sylvanas Windrunner has proclaimed herself the Queen of Lordaeron. She leads our former countrymen, who have been denied their rest, who are forced to do her bidding. Every day, they become more and more like the Scourge: every day, they grow stronger. They already employ many weapons the Scourge did: Val'kyrs, the Plague.

For how long will we let this stand? For how long will we stand idle as our homeland is raped by the new wave of undead? The answer is in your heart. But every moment we hesitate, means one more lost life, and one more gained victory for the Forsaken. Every moment we waste contributes to the downfall of the mankind.

But in these times of peril, many have raised their banners. The Scarlet Crusade, a noble and righteous organisation in the beginning, has fallen to corruption and zealotry, the two enemies of Lordaeron. The Argent Dawn vow to fight all evil, yet they close their eyes from the Forsakens injustice. It is clear the vails of the tortured doesn't carry from the Capital City to Hearthglen. The Lordaeron Alliance, offspring of the Crimson Flame, attempting to redeem their name, redeem it so desperately that they forget their true cause. Brothers and sisters: Lordaeron cannot be liberated from Stormwind. Her enemies cannot be defeated from armchairs.

The time to face the reality has come: we are fighting for survival. The time to sound the trumpets, to raise the black banners, to dig up arms from our cupboards has come. All must take action. United, we stand triumphant. Divided, we fall in defeat.

What and who are we?: We are a newly formed RP-PvP guild on Defias Brotherhood, formed by experienced players who have spent years on the server, though the exact amount of time spent, and experience of each member varies.

What is the core idea of the guild?: IC, the battle for Lordaeron, without high morals and religious ideals on the way. War isn't nice, it's a bloody business. OOCly, we seek to promote RP in Lordaeron and the north in general, and offer a high quality RP alternative to the existing guilds. We also seek to introduce the more "realistic" and grim type of characters and RP to the server

Guild organization: No ranks. We are not a regiment of any kind, you do not join us to climb in our rank structure to have your voice stand over the rest. Your voice will be heard through your veterany and service to those that are fighting by your side. You want to be someone important to us? Get your shield and sword and start working for it.

Therefor, I present the different sections a character can fall upon once joining. The one you join, is determined by your character skills and preferences (not by your class):

-Shade: Your skills go unseen most of the time. Subtely is your main ally. You're always ready to strike from the shadows, or make a quick move to slice your objectives throat while he thinks he's having a cheerful conversation with you, or while you approach him from the back.

-Vanguard: You stand strong and frience. The front line is your home. Seeing the enemy face close to your own, and walking away successfully afterwards is what you do best. You're usually clad in steel and iron to take the hits others would drop to their knee to.

-Watcher: Our eyes, our rangers. When to it, you can see the enemy approaching before they are aware of your presence. You equip yourself with gear that allows you to blend with the environment. Your observation skills and the use of ranged weapons are hardly matched.

-Arbiter: There can be a time where a sword and buckler does not fill the needs appropiately, and more elaborate methods are needed. Dedicated to the studies and books almost your entire life, you now use the arts you've mastered to either bring hell to our enemies, or relieve and protect your friends in the midst of battle.

Upon joining, a character remains as -Unproven- until they've gained the trust of the members, and are given the chance to be fully part of the brotherhood.

For OOC reasons, there is a group called -Senior Vigilant- who act as officers of the guild, that coordinates and makes the guild advance in the right direction.

Alignment
Neutral Good: Neutral Good is known as the "Benefactor" alignment. A Neutral Good character is guided by his conscience and typically acts altruistically, without regard for or against Lawful precepts such as rules or tradition. A Neutral Good character has no problems with co-operating with lawful officials, but does not feel beholden to them. In the event that doing the right thing requires the bending or breaking of rules, they do not suffer the same inner conflict that a Lawful Good character would
When we set our goals towards something, methods can vary, making what ever might seem necessary to successfully achieve it.

Must say it sound shiny. And it'd be a guild I'd consider joining if Bloodwind died at some random point, which it never will!

The first time I viewed this thread looked too long and boring for me to read, I read it and... It. Was. Amazing!
Really like the idea, looking forward to see you guys grow; still thinking about rolling a human myself.
