Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
Zangarmarsh is named after the sea itself, "Zangar Sea". Because of this, I'm hoping that "Zangarra" is actually a Sporeling town!

The geographical area that would be Zangarmarsh is covered entirely by sea, pretty much.

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
I know this is a bit of a taboo question to bring up, given the heated debate it can cause between us roleplayers.
But how are you personally going to approach Draenor IC? are you just going to be another Alliance/Horde force going through the portal? seems like it's the only real approach, I mean, is your entire guild planning to be stranded and try to get the full experience from the expansion?

At the moment, the plan is to do exactly this with the Band of the Brave, but it depends on how the leveling experience and the story are structured. We'll be going through that portal almost immediately as Adventurers, and will puzzle together our own narrative with the Lore as our guide, and fellow role-players and other guilds as pieces to bring our own story together.
I'd also like to see the Garrison in Shadowmoon Valley an alliance-wide location, where the army (Like Wild Tempest.) is stationed, and use it as one of the main hubbs from casual (wpvp-free) role-play.
It would also be really sweet to see a community of Draenei from Draenor appear that we can interact with. I'm very keen on playing one of those.
But plans change. We can't really say what we'll do exactly until we're actually there.

Will jump though OOC and check every quest text I can find related to that stuff and level up first. After that, it'd depend on the character I want to get there. A few of my characters could easily do as you describe, and have it make sense. Others? Berahnek, for example, I can imagine accidentally falling though a portal/touching the teleport device/etc while drunk.

Okay so the Rogue armour linked earlier, is apparently the Mythic armour set.
The middle and bottom are the regular sets, I'm thinking LFR and Normal... or whatever the names are now, I've forgotten at this moment in time.

Normal and heroic. LFR isn't going to drop tier sets anymore, instead drops it's own unique loot for cloth, leather, mail and plate.Zouyo wrote:The middle and bottom are the regular sets, I'm thinking LFR and Normal...

The set at the top by far the coolest.

I agree to that, though I don't like the boots model too much. Just hope the shoulders aren't as bad as with the lower one.

By your definition of "bad", they will be worse then the lower ones. The idea of the Mythic sets seems to be to "one-up" the Normal and Heroic sets. Expect more of the same, but with a (poisonous) cherry on top.

That set is pretty ugly. Too much going on at once. Color scheme only working properly for the lowest one. Bondage/luchador-mask doesn't suit the spikes. If that dripping stuff is for real, it'll be pretty annoying too.
Blizzard's gotten extremely good at many things over the years, but when it comes to armor designs, they've lost it.

I just wish Blizz would make more cool and superdetailed gear without going "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH PARTICLE EFFECTS!" (with a russian accent).
The gear can still be over the top and highly unrealistic. Just not glow in the dark and ready to enter the rave.

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
None of it feels like it belongs on a past-time savage draenor.. They kept saying how savage and bla bla the expansion will be, but gears are a big part of that feeling and making all raiding and pvp gear feel out of place will ruin it, atleast to me.
Not saying they're ugly mind, just out of place from what I expected out of their promises.

Eh, its the 'industrial revolution' aspect I think they are trying to capture more than anything. Steampunk over Barbaric and savage.
Which is, sadly, a shame.

Got a big nice large campfire slot in the middle though by the looks of it at least Should keep us all nice and toasty.
Loving the look of it all the same. And yeah, we're in the snow... but at least we don't have perpetual night like the Alliance do

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
I think i'd prefer the Horde garrison over Alliance, if i had a choice (i don't really have, since my toons are Alliance). I just think it captures the "fortress in an untamed land" better than the Alliance one, being built on cold rock on a snow covered hill.

Us Alliance folk prefer the "Cozy home away from home" atmosphere.

..I wish we could get an expansion where all the buildings aren't based off blue team humans and red team orcs.. C'mon Blizzard, you've got DIFFERENT RACES!

Red is the colour of the Horde as a whole, aka all the collective races, same goes for Alliance.

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
I don't like the homogenisation of the horde and alliance races, Night Elves in human plate give me the shivers.
We've got all these races with varying cultures, architecture, fashion and themes and yet we see it rarely in Horde or Alliance content, Cataclysm was pretty good for defining the races out, but in Pandaria we saw it creeping back.

That you feel that way means that blizzard did a good job of presenting the story they wanted to tell; That if a unified alliance.
