Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
I was of the impression that the Burning Blade was formed on Azeroth? Interesting. Or I'm just very off.

Ah! Thanks, seems I was right. ^^
The Burning Blade also refers to a group of demon-focused orcs. They can range from demon-crazed warriors to plotting cultists. This cult however has little to do with the actual clan.

There's been another dump of screenshots, this time of Gorgrond!
Here are my favorites:
Here are my favorites:

- More jungle! Now with vicious red spikes to fuck you up:

- I don't know what this is, but I love the Lighting it's got going on!:

- So far the ogres are the most stylish beings in WoD. Just look at those colors, the stones, the buildings! It's pretty amazing looking:
- Love the blue and orange rocks.

- These hot springs are also a thing that look nice:

Umh.. Why is there a Ramkahen in this picture, they are supose to be the guardians of titan constructions in Kalimdor. Have they finally decided to move out from their town, but if so, why is the NPC called Guardian of the lake?
This doesn't make any sense to me, unless it is only a place holder for the real NPC.

Other screens seem to feature an unearthed Titan complex, I suppose it is safe to assume the Sphinx blueprint was used on other words as well.

Oh fuck me not again.
Why can't we just be done with the fucking Titans already? They've only ever served to de-mystify the setting by using modern-day computer terminology to describe things that really oughta stay magical...

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
Thing is: The titans are the final bosses. The last wave of bad guys.
They want to make us orderly and neat, but thanks to the good old gods, who happen to be the core of Azeroth, incidentally, we live, think and riot against their opression. When the final chamber of plot twists is opened, this will be very clear, and the hour will be late. Velen's already victorious Army of the Light(previous xpac/raid tier) transforms into one massive, unstoppable Army of Life, and we wipe out the machines once and for all.
I honestly wish I could say I'm not halfway expecting something like this, but the Titans being equally bad as the others is so blatantly obvious.

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
I played around with the theory that the Old Gods are actually good guys a few years ago, since Old Gods and Elemental forces are intertwined, and the Naaru are essentially "Light Elementals". It also explained why Draenei look so different to all the Titan-made races (having tentacles, tails and hooves which are features found in more "primordial" races like the Faceless and the Tauren), because they're actually a "natural" race, born of the chaos of life (IE Old Gods) rather than manufactured by the Titans.

I am just hoping that the Titan stuff is placeholder stuff for something else, as is the Tol'vir models... I really am hoping cus I would like Draenor to be spared the Titan bullcrap... This expansion is supposed to be about the Iron Horde, about stopping them and their Warlords coming to our Azeroth and taking them down, whilst in the process re-discovering the world before it was fucked over by demons...
There was no Titan crap in Outland, so there should be no Titan crap here in Draenor...

I wonder how that'll all work out for Gladiator Stance. No spell reflect, safeguard, rallying cry, so on?

Yeah, that does seem like an oversight. But perhaps something that'll be adjusted?

Hmm, interesting...
Not sure 'why' they took these steps backward though
Perhaps most likely so that warriors make full use of stances, will have to see!

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
Defensive Stance being -just- a passive shield wall was boring design, quite frankly. One series of changes I'm curious about is:
I'm very much not sure that I like this. I hope they end up in a state where rage starving isn't actually an opportunity, since we no longer have any cheap abilities (overpower removed from the game, MS costs rage, Csmash costs rage, execute replaces slam and costs up to 60 rage)
- Colossus Smash now costs 30 Rage, deals 225% increased damage, and no longer increases the damage of Slam.
- Mortal Strike now costs 30 Rage (instead of generating 10 Rage).
- Slam has been removed.
- Execute for Arms Warriors now costs 20 Rage, and consumes up to 40 additional Rage to deal additional damage.
- Battle Stance for Arms Warriors now generates increased 100% Rage from auto-attacks and Critical Strikes now generate double Rage.

Re: Warlords of Draenor - General Discussion
I wouldn't call this a fucking. If anything I think this is a good way to raise the skill cap/requirement on warriors, so we see less of this horseshit of horrendously bad warriors being carried hard because no matter how bad they are, a decent-ish healer turns them into a god.Terenus wrote:I'd have liked to have been wined and dined before my class got fucked.
As for this shit, it seems Execute is replacing Slam as the big Rage dump. So long as you aren't spamming Execute, you should have plenty of rage to Mortal Strike and Colossus Smash on CD with all dat rage gen.Colossus Smash now costs 30 Rage, deals 225% increased damage, and no longer increases the damage of Slam.

We no longer have overpower, a staple ability of arms since vanilla, and we are reduced to 2 or 3 abilities that aren't cd's. On top of this, we no longer have a stun on charge - which exists so that lag means charge isn't useless, we have to stance dance like crazy, which, any warrior can tell you was frustrating as fuck because if you have the slightest bit of lag your whole timing is fucked, having to go defensive stance to spell reflect say, a chaos bolt, would mean you stance dance, there's a moment of lag - you get hit for the equivalent of 60k-100k+ chaos bolt because that lag meant you weren't able to spell reflect in time.
We no longer have bleeds, either, unless you're prot. So, killing a rogue will be much, much harder now unless you are prot. And -if- you are prot, you're not going to be dealing as much damage anyway. Overpower gone too, so if a rogue is in evasion, we basically have nothing to use against them.
I'm not sure if you were around in WOTLK, but it's highly simillar to that. Spam auto attack, once you have enough rage, press one of the two/three dps buttons. Pop cooldowns for burst every three minutes.
The worst change to this isn't just that warriors are weaker and will no longer be picked for RBGs, but they are far more boring now to play and that Blizzard has disregarded the last six odd years of developing the class.
Frankly, I'm not sure about you, but I don't enjoy pressing the same 2/3 buttons for a rotation.

Until you've actually played with it, these are all assumptions.
Just chill and wait for WoD, or a beta invite... And then whine about your class getting changed.

- Overpower has been removed because of the lack of Dodge and Parry
- There is no way in hell you'll keep a readily available non-DR stun while every CC in the game is being nerfed. This only makes sense
- The game won't be balanced around lag
- Stances aren't on the GCD, and Chaos Bolt has a 12 year long cast time. If you miss that, you're either bad or you need a new internet connection
- Rogues are getting nerfed too
- These kinds of strange changes are happening across the board to all classes, including my beloved Hunter. Making such negative presumptions at such an early point (alpha, hellooooo) isn't smart because 100% of it is all subject to change still anyway
And yes, I was around in Wrath. In fact I've been playing since Vanilla. And I've recently swapped from maining Hunter to Warrior, and heck, I welcome these changes and the change of pace they'll bring.
