Re: Operation Moonhammer
*With thier objectives complete and after taking a few losses the offshore schooner turned to set sail back south avoiding the Silvermoon Navy under the cover of night. The nameless dead were honoured yet the soldiers of 'Dagger Team 1st SCYTHE Regiment' remained steadfast knowing it wasn't all in vain. Just another day in 'paradise'*

Yes it was great, our small unit wasn't present at the last batte unfortunatley due to needing to do other things back in the kings lands.
We were mainly playing disposable units from the 303rd to see how we could integrate ourselves into a larger campaign and to -cut our teeth- as it were. Big thanks to Gogol and the dwarves being our main contact's and support within alliance side and to the Cult (Rasonal and Co) that were there during the Harbour Operation.
We really enjoyed ourselves and found that once we had a basic objective, Rping out tactical plans and engagement was a damn load of fun. We've got alot of guys that know how to use thier imagination and you make me proud!
I look forward to moar!

To me that just kind of reads "people who pvp actively should be excluded from rp-pvp events". I'm sorry if I'm being too blunt but it just seems a bit weak really. Besides, what's the fun of an event where either side has literally no chance because of numbers?
You clearly misunderstood my post. My point remains: It shouldn't be about winning or balancing the odds.
I don't mind that Bloodwind joins in at all, PROVIDED they join in with In Character justification. Do you know the expression "You reap what you sow"? Well, it seemed to me like you just reaped something other people had sown, to put it bluntly. Namingly, people had a lot of role-play involved rallying all these orcs and forsaken and elves to take a stand together. Then there's you guys -- again this is how I perceived it -- who join in, because else there would have been a balance issue. I'd rather have it another way; namingly that you have an In Character reason to be there to begin with. And if Dorik says that this was concluded by both parties, I accept that, but I still think it could have been more of an effort.
And about "growing up" -- if I express genuine concern, and this is the only way you can respond, it's you who still needs some growing up to do.

What Koz said.
Also, one last thing to Gnash. Keep in mind that at least 7 people from Bloodwind are actively involved int he IC affairs of Stormwind and the Alliance in general. The IC invitation to this event had arrived some time back already, so it was far from a "Oh, we're too few, let's call BW to the rescue!" reaction. Only 7 Bloodwind members joined last night, although we had 17 members online. Seeing how the horde still had 10 more people than the alliance, I could have let some more guildies to join, but those wouldn't have had any IC justification to be there, that would have been OOC, so I decided not to.
The guild might not exist ICly but there are active RPers in it, related to each other through various plots, and those who attend such event always have an IC reason to be there, that I can assure you of.

Typical Horde tactic, sending the wolves in first..
Followed by the real cavallry. Yes, our guys where told that all deserters would be shoot.
Well at least we had a few non-deserters left. This is Ironforge.

Thanks Mandui,
It's just frustrating that people get offended over this, while the only thing I really wanted was an explanation from your end. Like I said, that's just how I perceived it during the battle because these facts weren't exactly on the table.

I am sorry that we have not provided a well writen story/explenation regarding the Stormwind/Human participation in the event, but that is because of reasons outside of our hands. (Missing officers of several guilds due to exams which we couldnt get in contact with.) There is however a IC and OOC explenation regarding the participation, how it was done, through what IC means, how, when and why. So if you wish for it to be given, it will be given. (Not to mention the fact that the final date was given to us two days before the actual event and we did not have a long term awareness of that fact which resulted for only 7 people to be present.)

Not trying to bait or anything here, so bare with me. Merely trying to understand. Your post did come off as a little bit of a whine to me and let's be frank. Bloodwind being whined at is nothing new. Text is hard to interpret over the Internet as we all know so I apologise if you weren't whining, it's just the form of text gave me that impression about your "Genuine concern".
Stating again, not trying to rifle a riot here, but merely understanding.

I myself found the fights even and good, rare are those times one can take part in such big events that are not total faceroll for one side.

Ehr, a bit late maybe, but still. I think the fight was quite fun, if I may say so. I was quite happy with how it ended up, where we both lost and won a couple of times. Good participation on both sides, not alot of whining, and just good spirit restored some of my faith in the whole WPvP-scene. I was not surprised with BW particiating, since it was all agreed upon, and quite fine. Alot of fun, simply put.
