The Alterac Initiative

Event Schedule:

*random events will occur, but these given dates should guarantee activity.

Are you an inhabitan of the Eastern Kingdoms, or our great nation of Khaz Modan? Are you tired of the dull and peaceful life so many brave souls have laid down their lives to preserve and protect? You should! Because nothing good ever came if not from toil and hard work.. And war. Lots of war! It's time for YOU to leave peace and adventure aside, and do your part in the war effort on horde savagery!

Act under the most esteemed and skilled military officers in the valley!

Have yourself the best meal any hardworking soldier could ask for! The famous and most delicious mix of mild spieces, oatmeal and sheepinwards, also known as haggis. Yum, yum! Along with that, proper accommodation in the form of tents, and blankets will be provided. Essentials will also be handed out to those not bearing proper equipment, and an additional kit for surviving the harsh climates of the Alterac mountains.

To get you able and ready we'll provide you, and an additional comrade, with a thoroughgoing education in use of mines and mortar weapons. And we're happy to announce that a majority make it out of our mortar program... ALIVE!

And if that wasn't enough, we will also teach you in the skill of ram riding! Where you, yes YOU, will be riding the most well-bred battlechargers of the valley! Feel the breeze of the Alterac cold as you attempt to galopp through knee-deep snow. You'll have your buttocks frozen to the saddle in no-time!

In general there will be sparring, battle and weapon training, as well as a guide to tactical approaches on the field. All of this just to have you ready to blow orcs and horde to pieces, and plant your weapons in their savage and sinful heads!

The clans will settle in the Alterac Mountains and have plans to further the war effort against the horde, and Frostwolf clan present there. We plan to make camp and bolster our ranks. This is an attempt to further our involvement with the rest of the community, and to include the community in events that will take place there. Any alliance character may find reason to come and attend at any of the dated events, even if you plan only to attend once. Everyone may feel free to linger with us during our entire stay there.

Why might my character have reason to attend?
You could come as a possible dwarf recruit and join with us permanently, or be someone of whatever background who simply wants to do their part. The training will be set to prepare those already familiar with or working in the military, to those who have little or no military experience. It will be an intensive bootcamp of sorts.

I reserve myself for what will happen on the dated events, but I will strive to keep you all posted in this thread. This might prove to be a continuous thing, or develop into something bigger in the weeks to come. Officers of the many alliance guilds may poke me for event invites.

Sir Kilgan,

I would like to subject my braves to an evening of military cold weather training to prepare them for an extended expedition to Northrend. I believe the Clans to be the perfect tutors - None know the hazards of snowy mountaintops better then the dwarves. We will arrive at the Aerie Peak on the evening of Januari the 21st, and have a feast to celebrate the one-month anniversary of my organisation. May they be hung over the following day, during your training, well...

Willingness to TRY and stop a grandscale war nothing to do with smaller type battles and whatnot.

Plus last time i checked someone skirmished TB and killed a ton of people, skirmished in Arathi (The basin is still a BG non the less as well!).

Being ready is wrong now? I don't see anyone disbanding the military and starting to give out hugs.

I bid you welcome on the 22nd to our military encampment in the outskirts of Alterac. This formidable drilling facility is where most of our training takes place, and is where you shall meet and greet with us. As per request, an introduction to surviving harsh winter climates will be held. I will act as your tutor, and will surely be accompanied by kin and clan. The evening will be spent going through the preconditions to and provisions necessary to survive in cold climates, and we might just make time for a short practical venture into the nearby mountains.

I write in advance that some of our memebers would surely be overjoyed to have some training in the military as well as some added skills as minor tactics and survival. As it is explorers these days need to be tough and even if military may seem like a far stretch discipline never hurt anyone, nor did knowledge. Ours will sure to attend your training.

So to answer in order...

1 - Its Horde territory

2 - This will be the second time the alliance has violated the truce by marching around horde occupied zones.

3 - the previous campaign was all about kicking you truce breaking alliance fiends out.

4 - We had a whole campaign in TB/Arathi correcting the alliances disregard for the truce.

So to summarize, your violating the truce, again.

I thought the campaign started when Horde sneak-attacked Tol Barad?

Nevertheless, this seems to be war training. Which would happen regardless, I imagine.

To be completely honest it wasn't the dwarves who broke the truce but us forsaken (late October), we just made you guys believe we were the victims so you'd help us in our campaign. We're forsaken, what did you expect Laughing

In any case the Alterac Valley is still a contested zone according to the battleground, so I guess the dwarves could go there for military training anytime they want.

To clarify, there is no violation of the truce, and there is nothing suggesting such a scenario in my event post. We are merely using the nearby Stormpike encampments for military training(which were placed there during the events of the Cataclysm). That is all. If this question had been asked to me directly, then perhaps we could have avoided this unneccessary discussion.

If you want to "uphold" a truce then you should maybe engage in more corrospondance and diplomatic meetings, Krogon. Try to keep tvingas civil.
