A call to Alterac

Having travelled and on a road filled with dangers, the tired courier looks up with a faint smile as he finally rides through the gates of Stormwind. As willing hands takes the reins of his horse he shrouds himself in his cloak to better ward of the cold winter air. Even at this late hour the city is full of life, and he has to use his elbows more than once to make his way to the town square. Once there he unfolds the scroll he have kept safe during his journey.

"Citizens" he cries, and the crowd falls silent. He does not yet speak for he awaits the people that slowly makes their way towards the square.

A minute passes.

"Citizens, I bring news from the north" he continues, in a loud voice so that all may hear him.

"Citizens, as you all know a coalition of brave soldiers marching under the banner of the Alliance reached their intended goal - the ruins of Alterac City - not more than a week ago." He makes a pause for effect. Just long enough to make people truly wonder if the mission succeeded or not.

"After three decisive battles our brave warriors managed to rout the ferocious ogre horde, and claim the city in the name of the Alliance. From the battered keep a banner displaying the coat of arms of our grand coalition now hangs!" He attempts to continue, but the crowd utters roaring victory cheers from which no single voice can be heard. For three minutes their proud cries can be heard. A smile spreads across his tired face as he himself briefly joins in on their celebration.

"Realising of course the potential as a strategic staging area in their eventual reclamation of Lordaeron, Highlord Gabriel Lightsoul of the Lordearon Alliance has ordered that the city is to be restored - garrisoned and fortified. He has placed the Alteracian nobleman - Baron Steven Silferdrake, in a ruling position of the city. But the victory was not without a cost, as many a brave man now lies dead in the snow, which is why the good Baron calls for anyone willing to aid their cause to make their ways to Alterac. Not only soldiers, but settlers, craftsmen, merchants - all those willing to start a new life - are called upon. Those who heed the call be rewarded with land once their service has been lended. The inevitable march to Lordaeron is now closer at hand then ever. But for it to be a reality we must all one last time gather our forces. For now, more than ever, can you make a difference!"

He falls silent. Nods to himself. "Not a bad job" he mutters as me makes his way towards the nearby tavern, eager to spend the silver he was paid to relate this message"


As you probably understand this is a continuation of the recent Army of the North. Alterac City has now been claimed, but much work will be needed if the city is to be restored. Everyone is welcome to join in for some RP - settlers style. Soldiers need to be recruited and trained. The countryside needs to be kept safe. Resources needs to be found, gathered and taken care of. Labour needs to be preformed and such. Every kind of character could join in on this. And are more than welcome to the snowy highlands of Alterac.

Our hope is to make at least a temporary RP hub of it. Does this sound interesting to anyone?

Noble cause i say but it is in vane. For the Scarlet Crusade has eyes in your Army. In time the Traitors from the Lordaeron Alliance will all be brought to justice and with them the Dead things of the Shroud aswell!

I got an excellent solution for the both of you. Why do you not decide over who gets the privilege to crush us in a long, bloody and preferably extremely self destructive war with each other? The winner can then march towards us?

Pretty sure all of that business was resolved the last time Alterac City was taken. You're a little behind there.

Nice to see the possibility of turning the area into a hub for a while, the RP we had up there last time this sort've thing occured was fun.

I feel Lex is going to not fully understand why Arathorians are marching on Alterac.... Best kill them all and steal there souls!

As you may have read on some of the other threads I'm involved with, my subscription has just ended, and since I'll be changing to The Old Republic when it comes out (and considering I'm quite busy with other stuff as well) I thought it silly to renew my account for a few days of gameplay.

So this is goodbye, at least for a few months (fans of my comic need not worry, as I intend on updating that as long as there is demand for it).

Retaking Alterac and laying the first bricks of it's new foundation is quite a splendid end for my character, and I thank you all who have participated in this event. I hope that you'll continue to RP there for a long time!

(ICly, I suppose Silferdrake is still there, watching over things, chillin' out. Holding a meeting or two and ordering the best of wine).

Actually, as things are just now, if Steven were to be forced away from the "throne" he'd probably leave Lexgrad to handle things, as they more or less shared the same agenda in the end.
