ERP means Durp?

I will give my very honest statement with my experience on the subject... I am not opposed to ERP, and I have done so myself in the past. I will also add that the timeframe in which I myself participated in ERP was a few months between boyfriends, so I think I would be lying if I said it was solely for 'character development'.

Nevertheless, these events did shape my character and that there was a lot of fun RP involved before, during and after the erotic side of things.

Nowadays, I do not really feel the need to type out erotic messages as such, ofcourse, my character probably indulges in sexytime offscreen, and sometimes we head to a private place where it would most likely happen, but in those cases it is usually followed up by: "Wanna slaughter some stuff in a BG?" "Yeah!"

If it's something your character would do and it suits the RP moment then why not? I've only come across it once or twice where sex has been openly emoted.I just walk out of "earshot". Got to be said though Im sure the sexual emotes are a lot better to see than some power emoting bad-ass who smacks everyone with a single /

I play dead people so I can avoid cheesy story lines made for people to open their legs to each other for OOC reasons. In fact, I generally avoid all romantic / relationship RP because it is a general waste of time in comparison to the content and quality of the RP you could potentially be having, instead of wasting your time replicating one of the most complained about things in the history of man.

Dead things are capable of having platonic relationships, everybody (except me) who engages in DK ERP is bad rp.

I like to get my cheese on every now and then. I can't help it, it's fun!

Undead cant erp as they have no genitals btw.. They dont have the blood to get an erection.. Romatic rp is as far as they -can- go. I dont know about hormones though

Say the same on that, I don't care what reasons they have IC, no.. Just spare me for it, DK ERP is a no no even coming from me!

Then again, this is a world of magic and wonder...

My own Death Knight has no sexual desires whatsoever anymore. She has somewhat of a relationship out of habit with the (now also undead) man she used to be with before they died, but their time together consists of playing chess, swordfighting, etc. He will kiss her hand when she enters the room, but again, it is out of habit and perhaps the fact they can stand being with each other.

No one has once called them a bad RPer, they are paranoid and claiming so.
The issue here isn't even ERP itself.
The issue is/was/still is, that the person in question put on the OOC info of pretty much all their characters something along the lines of:
"I am an open person and down for ERP. Whisper me if you want to "

Now what is happening is that people don't want to accept said person into guilds.
NO it's not because they claim they are a bad RPer because of this ERP tag, no.
As it has been explained time and time again, over and over until many people have slammed their heads into the desk so much they look like prunes...
They don't want their guilds openly associated with ERP.

I have nothing against ERP but don't do it myself and don't plan to either.
But I in all honesty think it's a fair statement of the guild masters to say that.
Everyone has told this person via whisper and via LFRP simply to "take the tag off your TRP2."
Do they listen...no. We just get this constant bitching, moaning and passive aggression.
People have tried and given up.
Yesterday the person joined the LFRP channel just to say "You know what I miss...WHEN PEOPLE USE TO CARE!" then they left.
Constant attention seeking like this is really starting to grind the gears of the majority of people.
Half of players thinking it's a troll since they aren't listening to the blatant advice people have given them.

tldr: Martha, this player is attention seeking. Good advice has been given, they refuse to listen. *Shrugs*
It's nice that you care for the underdog but in this case, the underdog is trying to make themselves that way.

Why? Why dont they want to be openly associated with ERP? Its simple really, ERP -DOES-, yes it does give a bad name as I have stated before it is still frowned upon and therefore the guild automatically becomes terrible because that reputation. (Even if members and the guild itself is utterly awesome) The consequences will be new people hear of the guild "[INSERT GUILD NAME] is really bad.. all their members are sluts and their GM is like a fucking pimp" and they trust their friends word in this.. Ultimately ending with that guild eventually dying, unless they can redeem themselves.

Honestly if people still didnt be silly and hate RP I wouldnt care. Because its just another theme. I realize this said person didnt take advices which hen should, probably. Well, I just think that mayhaps we should be more tolerant. Just a thought!

I think you misinterpreted what I meant. Yes, I still agree on that part that it shouldnt be advertised publicly. Allowing that would indeed be more tolerant.. But not quite what I meant, I simply think that we shouldnt "hate" and "flame it. That said, being 12 years old doesnt mean you dont know what sex is. Quite the contrary, heh.

On a slightly other point.
I don't hate this player, nor would choose not to RP with them.
Why? Simple: Don't bring OOC into IC.
I just think they need to stop with the pointless attention seeking on LFRP.
