In Belgium you have a right to lie (by law) on questions that are personal when applying for a job/university. Because not answering them is mostly the same as answering them.

Because if they ask for your sexuality and you say: 'I decline to answer.' They'll know what's what as few people will hide that they're hetero in this world. So you're allowed to lie on that question as it doesn't have anything to do with how well you're preform in your uni/job.

A big example in job industry is employers asking a female applicant if they have plans for kids in a few years. You're allowed to lie on it.

ps: if it's for a simple stat gathering company though, it doesn't matter squat, you can probably fill in you're an alien

They're not a "company". They're part of the Gov't. But fuck them, seriously. I work with them daily.

As for the "do you plan to have kids" question. It's a big no-no here. You're "allowed" to ask it, I guess. But if you did, and it was looked at as a reason to hire (or not) an employee then you'd be in shit deep enough to drown.
