All the people they've bigged up in that fashion are either "The olympic champion" which by default makes them the greatest of the moment. OR, they are the most decorated in their field in history/our history.

It is perfectly fine to "big up" achievements of that scale.

My countrymen are doing surprisingly well for Norwegians in the summer olympics. Thought we'd only ever get medals where skis were involved.

Did anyone else set out with a high level of cynicism in "The Games"? I did. But it's been broken down. To be fair it took a large knock when I watched the opening ceremony (on catch-up and very, very drunk) and got all emotional at the grandeur and spectacle.

But I'm a softie. And can cry at almost anything... *sniffle*

Male gymnasts have fucking killer bodies.

Sadly 95% of the female gymnasts look like 15 year old girls (because they are). The remaning 5% however are generally SMOKING.

That, and the ballance they have is fucking impressive. You do a flip while standing and landing on a 5cm thick surface.

Don't get me wrong, I can admire the skill involved. The physical impressiveness. Same with dressage, really. I do undrestand.

I just don't wanna watch it really.

Its horsemanship basically. Going through a set routine which shows the horses training and the riders control of their horse. Looks a lot harder than it actually is but its impressive.Team GB horses are beautiful.

Ireland never really wins much, or when we do we are underdogs etc, so it is a shock to see Katie Taylor dominate Women's boxing. I believe her first fight was recorded as the loudest event in the olympics so far, ahead of bolt's 100m, phelps etc...so....GO KATIE/IRELAND!

Also the Daily Telegraph tried to claim her for the British shame on that rag!
