I liked the ceremony personally, it had a fair amount of slow, boring parts (especially the beginning, eugh!) but over-all I enjoyed it. Betting now that Rio's will be amazing.

I really love how it's Corleth saying all this after he's told me off several times for being anti-british.
I didn't mind it personally, it was fun. Ofc One Direction and the Spice Girls suck, and some of it was just absurd but what else did you expect?

Though, admittedly, that ceremony could have been better. The Brazilians did introduce themselves very well though. Looking forward to their opening ceremony (loads of scantily clad women dancing. (Please god let it be so).

Tell that to our third place overall in gold medals!

All of the houses demolished by the Olympics being built were bought beforehand. The ceremony last night was a celebration of why the British have made and introduced some of the best music over the last sixty years. Anyone born in the 90s has to appreciate the Spice Girls, it was pure nostalgia. All the others I mentioned previously were only minor references to the amount of people mentioned and paid tribute to.

... Still no Lord of the Rings tribute though... Sad
