Re: [IC] Census of the Kirin Tor
Hmm.. I'll do what Delidah said- give it a go and see if it's worth it. I did a bit last night and got some compliments for it's uniqueness.
Also, Skarain that's a neat idea

Mechagnome... It's iffy, but mostly because 90% of people who RP a non-playable race do it god-awfully. If you can pull it off well, I'd be fully behind it.

The Mecha-Gnomes are programmed entirely (with the exception of Mimiron, post-raid) to mechanize the Gnomish races, it would be in their programming to work against flesh-based organizations. With the exception of the toy-shop assisstant, I cannot see one integrating well into the Kirin'tor.
Sorry, that's just my opinion on the matter. >:

There is allready a way to turn gnomes back, so the question would arise allmost right away why he hasn't just done that.Skarain wrote:Or have it a long personal research how you (presumely) try to turn back into gnome when in truth you research how to turn all gnomes to mechagnomes.

Re: [IC] Census of the Kirin Tor
After a non-stop flight over the great sea and lands frozen, madam Dreadnettle finally reaches city of magi. She lands her animated death-beast under the watchful and most distrustful eye of the local dragon-bird handlers. With great strain and effort she manages to get the crates with samples down from the deathly griffon, and onto an unwieldy rack that goes on her back. She sends the dreadsteed away, back to it's unholy roost under the Acherus, the Ebon Hold.
Finding no help and little trust, the little madam makes her way to the Legerdemain Inn. Even there glaring looks and distrustful eyes watch her every move, her tabard... Some evert there eyes, not having the stomach to watch a creature such as Dreadnettle.
But... Even in Dalaran, gold makes many men a friendly man, and before long the Madam is settled in one of the rooms, the rack of samples safely in secured cold storage. There madam Dreadnettle takes quill and ink and writes letters to many a recipient, announcing and explaining her relocation to the flying capital of magic on Azeroth. When they are neatly posted, the Madam retreats to her room and sits herself behind the way-too-large desk. She folds her hands and... She waits.

Fuck you. That's all I can say. Fuck you.
I wanted to cut down an alts. And this just makes me want to roll an undead gnome Alchemist!

lol, relax, all I took away from that is that I appreciate your enthusiasm. You could roll an undead alchemist, but my "act" would be much better served at the moment by people simply roleplaying in Dalaran; anyone.Photowedge wrote:

Re: [IC] Census of the Kirin Tor
Madam Dreadnettle sits on the same, slightly too big stool that she has the largest part of the night, and day. She reads the books conveniently on a shelf in her room, one by one, as she waits for any of her correspondents to contact her.
The bed lies unused. The dead do not sleep. The madam groans a little as she eyes the thing, it's neat sheets taunting her. She entertained the thought of going to lie in it; just for form. But what's the point, really. She could be working right now.
She looks up from her book, towards the clock. exactly five minutes have past, same as last time she looked up from her book. She casts a look at the open doorway. She grunts again. Thoughts of incompetence dance on the edges of her mind, but she dismisses them quickly. The living lead busy lives, someone will show up. The dead can wait.
Solemnly she turns the page and continues her read.

(( I wanted for a long time yesterday, but no body seemed to be playing in Dalaran, so I went on Delidah. If people are too busy to actually play with me in Dalaran, we can always play it out in this forum thread or create a new one for it, but this seems as good a place as any. ))

(( Seems like a waste to open a whole new thread for these little tit-bits, so I'll just... keep posting them here. I have been away at an art festival in Germany all weekend, this is the only bit of RP I'll do. Dreadnettle's adventures in Dalaran part 3, I guess. ))
###
The slow, monotonous trickle of water drops gathering on the ceiling and falling down into the waters below, causing little rings to expand is a constant presence down here. The Sewers of Dalaran. Barely monitored by the Kirin Tor above, it is a paradise for magical deviants and crooks that otherwise just... Don't fit anywhere else. Madam Dreadnettle had been standing there for quite some time now, in front of the make-shift alchemy lab in the black market. Must be hours, perhaps even a day. Two days? When you are dead and loose the need to sleep, your perception of time starts to blur. She'd been watching the samples distill for so long she could hear a pattern in the drops coming down from the ceiling, repeating in the same way, time and time again. First one, then two in rapid succession... Then nothing for a while. Then three more! Then there came two again, slightly bigger pause... And the cycle would repeat.
Suddenly, a change in the cycle. The water surface was breached. After a long time of no movement, Madam Dreadnettle tilted her head to inspect the source of this grave disturbance. There a leech reared it's ugly eyeless head, clumsily slithering out of the water onto the wooden boards that made up the many walkways crossing the sewers. It's glistening body was fat and gorged, it had found a meal alright, a good one. Perhaps a priest who fell asleep, perhaps a bruiser that dozed off... Perhaps it was one of the frostgears, it matters little. The leeches are silent and their sting is hardly felt, never enough to wake the sleeping. The madam curled the corner of her broad, deformed lips into an empty smile as she reached down to allow the leech to slither up her arm. There, for one moment, she might have felt an honest affection for the creature, a hint of a warm emotion breaking the eternal, monotone cold of undeath. "Had your fill?" She whispered. "Come to me then, my pet, my monster..."
The madam took a quick look around. Nobody payed attention. Why would they? She had been standing in the same place for an eternity, to most down here it would be like she wasn't even there anymore, blended with the humid walls, green of algae and life. With a motion surprisingly swift, she brought her arm up and opened her gargantuan maw, flashing the many rows of teeth that line her broad jaws, an opening so huge, she could eat her own head. Knowing what to do by instinct, the Leech slid off the Madams arm and into her throat, down it went into her undead body where it nests among what once where intestines. This is how it went. Madam Dreadnettle provides opportunity for the Leeches to feast on an abundance of high-class blood, and in return, when they are safe back inside of her, the secrete minute amounts of what they had consumed to, in tern, feed Dreadnettle's necrotic metabolism.
Once safe inside, Dreadnettle rested her eyes back on the boiling and slightly trembling chemistry setup. "Oh yes", she thought, as the creature folded her hands behind her back, staring to the laboratory. "Oh yes almost finished, indeed..."

Hey Deli, sorry for not being around lately for the alchemy stuff, like I said in the AFK thread, RL has really been kicking me in the butt lately, I've been out of the house for most of the last 3 days. I should be on tomorrow though.

There is a the library on the forum which is bascially made to have short stories of peoples characters.erwtenpeller wrote:Seems like a waste to open a whole new thread for these little tit-bits, so I'll just... keep posting them here.
You can even request your own little sub-forum ish thing there.

I think it's way more relevant posted here, as it's directly related to my characters in-game activities in Dalaran.

Re: [IC] Census of the Kirin Tor
Why does that need to be in a thread that is basically meant to be a list of the characters involved in the kirin tor project?erwtenpeller wrote:I think it's way more relevant posted here, as it's directly related to my characters in-game activities in Dalaran.
It relates primarily to your characters progression so i really don't see how it relates at all to the kirin tor census other than the fact that she is in dalaran.
It really seems to me it would fit in better in the story section or in the Kirin Tor part of the magic sub-forum.

Re: [IC] Census of the Kirin Tor
Because it's an in-character thread about Dalaran? There isn't anything else close to that, and those little tit-bits are hardly worth a thread of their own. Placing them here makes them relevant.
And it certainly is relevant to the intent of the thread, as it's a fancy way of saying "One of my characters is residing in dalaran at the moment and is ready for interaction with Kirin-Tor players, yo".
Don't be a party pooper :/

Re: [IC] Census of the Kirin Tor
as someone who did this before.. I have always seen the library and story section as exactly that.. stories and history..
anythign that is current or ic does not belong in there until that particular plot is over as every little detail has relevance to others ic.. for example dreadnettles worm ate something or someone.. that could easily be arenfel's leg it has eaten.. you just don't know.. ic topics stay in the in character section till that story is over.. then it can go into the library section..
its like the ic open correspondence.. those are technically stories.. yet they dont go into the story/library do they?
its the same thing here
and that XD *points to deli's post*
