Mass Effect 3
I just bought the game, and intend to start playing it tomorrow.
I'd say my characters current position would be a wounder full opportunity to take a short break.

Some people got theirs today I should have ordered it yesterday morning and not night! Argh!
There is only one bad thing about the Mass Effect series; people who play female shephard first time round. I think if you choose female shephard to play first, your console should shut down and detonate.

I'm not yet sure if I should buy it or not...
I havent played ME 1/2 and I know very little about the lore and just a little of the gameplay.
I'm also unsure if the game offers enough choices & similar to allow several playthroughs without getting boring/uninteresting.
Tldr: Is it worth 60$ even if you havent played the other games?

No, do not play it unless you've completed the other two. Atleast do the second one.
The game is entirely based off of story, the gameplay is fun but average, but the story is incredibly good. It leaves off where the second one ended and characters, events and the whole situation won't feel as personal and epic if you've not played the previous games.
EDIT: You could probably play through a couple of times, there won't be huge amounts of change but it isn't a short game.

Dont listen to these Biodrones Nifty. The story really aint as good as people would like you to belive(ME1 was alright I guess) and this third one is even worse apparently
Also they pay reviewers and viral market the shit out of it
If you wanna play it PIRATE IT the game wont fail anyway because of millions of biodrones all of the world getting their CE's and shit with day 1 DLC. Oh yeah did I mention how disgusting day 1 DLC is?

Nope. I just really liked mass effect.
Also, those things in that comparison thing are flaws you find bacause you look for them. If you see that pictue of tali in game for example, it's not going to bother you it's an edit from a stock photo. Take it from someone who has worked in the art department of a big game company... Every opportunity that can save you the slightest bit of time, you take.

Quin, the story is immersive. Ok, fair enough, art design they've stolen things. Big fucking deal!
DA2 was shockingly bad, but DA1 was brilliant.
The reason I find Mass Effect one of my favorite RPGs is because the world it created was great. Gritty, racist, each race defined perfectly, the Citadel, the politics - everything set a great tone. This is a world that has been developed and has depth to it.
The characters are great as well. Each one has their own goals, their own perspectives and avoids facing blatent sci-fi clichés.
My biggest problem with ME2 was that they didn't give you as much room to breathe as the first one. E.G, the citadel was a pathetic version compared to numero uno.
Commander Shephard is an awesome protagonist, along with the quirky crew such as Garrus and Joker - and the potential of characters dying in sequences depending on your choices, it all fits in perfectly to make a unique and fun game.
I'm no biodrone, I have a lot of complaints about some Bioware games, but their storytelling is second to none. They truly have some great writers on their team.

I've been looking forward to this for a while; admittedly I was worried at first because Dragon Age 2 was so bleeding terrible but I enjoyed the demo, (alright, the single player aspect was underwhelming, but I thoroughly enjoyed the multiplayer) so I'm looking forward to having my copy arrive tomorrow!

Played Mass Effect one a year ago. It was fucking amazing. Im not usually into singleplayer RPG's, but Mass Effect is one of those games I really enjoy.
Art design stolen? Who gives a fuck, complain to Bioware incase you have a problem with it. I play it for the story, not to look for tiny details that might have been copied from elsewhere.
Havn't played ME2 though. I probably should do that before buying ME3..

Yes. I enjoyed ME2 a loooooot more then ME1. The game as a whole is better streamlined, and the storyline wraps up in a truly epic conclusion that has left me speechless at times.
There are also a couple of choices between "good" and "bad" that are done by real-time popups that where exceptionally well played out. I'm talking about the interrogation scene here.

I love Mass Effect. I started playing ME2, I got ME as a present short after. It is just strange to see a man in every trailer though...

I played a girl in both. I like to play girls in games. I feel oddly comfortable with it.

I never play a male in a any game, unless there isn't a choice. Still, in terms of games I own that only leaves Half Life, and Freeman is so goddamn quiet you don't even notice

Because how can a female save the galaxy?! That is Miranda's job!
EDIT: I am joking btw, it is because it is the canon to play male! Like with the KOTOR games; Male Revan, female exile.

Don't care about canon. I'm not looking to play that story. I'm looking to play my story. The reason western RPGs are vastly superior to JRPGs is the fact that you have a choice.

That is true, but at the same time Shephard is a gruff character. It feels wrong playing a female.

I find fem shep to be far supperior to the male version if you want to play Renegade.
Male shep just sounds far to... Much proffessional soldier to do any renegade stuff.
