Re: Pandaren (And other stuff about the upcoming expansion)
There.. are actually Ninja Pandaren. There's an entire dungeon centered around kicking Sha out of their fortress monastery.

Who really gives a shit? :l
I mean, were just gonna be roleplaying them. it's not like were gonna need to double-check in case our imagined actions are historically inaccurate!

there's this ninja place/fortress/school/monastery (very unninja) that's infested with Sha,
We are expected to roundhouse kick them out.

To be frank, were getting Pandarian rogues. Surely that's enough ninja? Most people roleplay rogues as ninjas.. for example. They're is very little difference.

The Shado-pan Monastery was the second announced 5-man dungeon of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Located in Kun-Lai Summit, this mountain retreat serves as the home and training grounds of the mysterious Shado-pan Clan, a ninja-like pandaren faction dedicated to protecting Pandaria. Again, the Sha have been set free and threaten the Shado-pan's base of operations, and you’re tasked with dispatching them.
Interpret as you wish.

Tao Monastery/Shaolin Monastery?
Pandaren really have that Tao vibe.

Are they Ninja monestaries? I though they weren't, but Im not an expert.. I just know they have their own martial arts, ninjitsu..
I think they didn't actually have monestaries.. Since ninjadom is not based in any sort of religious context

Re: Pandaren (And other stuff about the upcoming expansion)
Tao and Shaolin monasteries both have martial arts. The difference being that Shaolin has buddhist roots and tao, well, have taoism. As I understand it buddhist seeks the end of all suffering in becoming nothing, where taoism is about becoming one with everything (and taoism let's you become immortal, sustaining yourself on water vapor only).
Tao monasteries also come with alchemy, some parts buddhism, feng shui, cooking, spiritual alchemy, medicine, astrology and qigong (practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation).
And i'm not quite sure on that, but japanese shinto has some chinese roots, mostly in naming. And buddhism move there after it got to china.

Indeed, it does get sillier every day;

They should just do away with the language barrier already.

Re: Pandaren (And other stuff about the upcoming expansion)
To be honest, I would rather the language barrier existed, even if it didn't make much plausible sense. Mainly because I feel like the random 90 Human paladin ganking my leveling orc monk, shouldn't have the chance to explain in detail: Over my corpse, why my mother has her legs open like a donation jar...

Msn is only an alt-tab away for roleplayers.

You/your family has lived with other pandaren for thousands of years, but after x days you can't understand half of the other pandaren?
Edit:
*eyes* There are a few monk npc's, them being 2 types of scarlets and one argent.

What happened to Arthas's body? What happened to Illidan's body? What about Kael'thas?
It is likely we will bring Illidan back, not so much for Kael'thas, he already had his come back. Arthas's body is somewhere but we don't really know where.
Atleast they are bringing Illidan back!

They should really remove the language barrier but give an option for it to " turned on " if you so wish it.

Re: Pandaren (And other stuff about the upcoming expansion)
Dude whatever it's a game-mechanical limitation, deal with it :/
Gameplay will and should always come before flavour.
EDIT: I would like to see the barrier go though. In fact, I would like there to be in-game methods of learning languages. But if blizzard feels that is not the right place to take their game, they won't. You have to remember, us roleplayers are only a teensie tiny bit of the wow audience. Majority comes first.

Re: Pandaren (And other stuff about the upcoming expansion)
I promised myself I wouldn't get into expansion hype, for a number of reasons.
Currently I am writing up a back story for my female orc monk and considering reactivating my account, just so I can play her " training " until the expansion launches. Oh dear, why Vec. WHY!?

Of all the monk npc's, the auchenai monk looks the most like the MoP monk.
However the Argent Monk has Divine Shield

Re: Pandaren (And other stuff about the upcoming expansion)
There's MMOs without languange barriers and FFA pvp. You even share public channels with the dudes that tries to gank you, and flaming (which is what Blizzard seems to be so scared of) is a non-issue in those.
It's just completely non-sensical when every NPC from both factions seems to cross-communicate just fine in their mid-western US accents.

You get shit talk and harassment from your own faction, too. And there's always /ignore. The cross-faction communication barrier is retarded and pointless.
