And oh god...there is already tention between Inquisition and Priesthood in the chapter. Who knows, may be the hat-wearers will make their bid for power while Osmand is busy rotting in some jail!? Or is High Inquisitor also under suspicion!?...

I don't think anyone outside the Chapter makes any difference between Witchhunters and clergy.
Chapter is Chapter.
Chapter is Chapter.

The next big content patch, 4.3. It hasn't gone into beta yet and no release date has been announced. So, I think its pretty safe to say it'll arrive somewhere late in autmn, I'm thinking November or early December.
In other words: we simply do not know yet when this will happen. But when we do, I'm sure you will too.

Re: The Jig is Up, Cathedral, 20:00 Sunday the 4th of December.
there is one downside to the whole plan....
If we recognize that Benedictus is exposed and dead, then we admit that a 'group of adventurers' has just managed to steal Dragon Soul from the past and bring it to Wyrmcrest..and is currently being attacked by Deathwing.
So there is a bit of double news: "Omg...Archbishop is a traitor...AND fate of Azeroth is being decided at Wyrmcrest"
Then we also accept that in less than a day after Archbishop's death, Deathwing will be defeated by Thrall and a raid of adventurers. Which again rather overshadows everything. May be people will be more busy celebrating than rioting, and we will have Benedictus-fanatics saying that he didn't REALLY join the Hammer, he faked it and sabotaged Deathwing's armies allowing for victory at Wyrmcrest.

Re: The Jig is Up, Cathedral, 20:00 Sunday the 4th of December.
There's a very simple solution to that problem, I think:
...So what?
Being selective in what lore we priortize and select as a foundation for potential plotlines while roleplaying is what everyone does on a daily basis. When you let yourself think like you did in that post, Exaythe, I think you'll find that any and all events in the lore will disrupt your roleplay and prevent you from playing the way you want. For example, did any of us really extensively acknowledge the excistance of those troll emmisaries in Stormwind? Did we really roleplay that out? Sure, there may have been a few, but most alliance roleplayers just ignored it. Why did they ignore it? Because there wasn't a good story to tell in it; at least, we didn't see one. It was a useless chunk of information, easily discarded and pushed to the side while we focussed on the storylines we do value.
I see the current issue in the same light. There is evidently a nice story to tell in the fall of the Archbishop, that much is obvious from this thread. However, no one at all cared to mention all the other events of the patch. In the same line of thought, we can conclude that there is less desire to roleplay using that particular piece of the lorepie as a firestarter.
Basicly, when you roleplay, you automaticly acknowledge any and all lore developments that are considered canonical by blizzard. If you do not, you would be "lorebreaking", or however you want to call it. However, that does not mean you have to actively RP based on this plotline, if it does not interest you. Do not let Blizzard completely dictate your roleplay. Use it as inspiration. You are telling your story in their universe, yes, but that does not mean that they get to tell your story for you.
In that double news you suggested we choose to select this particular part we find most interesting, and leave the other for what it is. That is the freedom we have as roleplayers. If you deny yourself that, then I think you will find yourself loosing too much control over your characters and the story you want to tell.

Regarding your trolls. I think it's fair to say respecting our -server-lore-, and as far as I know, the -Second- Gurubashi Empire, which has complete control of Zul'Gurub and STV had no affairs at the likes of the blizzard plot spun up.
So by respecting that, the trolls in SW most likely was fairly ignored.
But that's just my impression.

Exactly. If lore developments interfere with our personal plotlines, we have the ability and right to ignore them, or in the very least decide not to use them in any of our stories.

I do think Deathwing's defeat shouldn't be ignored. But does it have to happen on the same date?
While the betrayal of Bennedictus might happen "now" (being the day of the patch) and this news is very near.... The defeat of Deathwing might take some time to reach our city.
Either way... Why would the defeat of Deathwing shake the plan of throwing a mean eye on all our Light-clerics?
AFAIK... Pursecution of collaborators and traitors didn't stop after WW2 ended.

No way to tell for sure. We'd have to either make a leap to the PvE game and announce the "serverfirst" date for Deathwing's death as the day he got defeated IC, making an PvE event a RP event,or we would have to pick a date on our own. The latter option cannot be properly coordinated, as there is no sort of objective authority that could justify any one specific date as the date Deathwing died, while the first is always a touchy subject, as we do not like PvE happenings influencing our RP very much.

I believe Arthas death was never given a date of occurance, but I'm fairly sure the majority without decision lived by that it didn't happen -straight- away. But some time after the first world kill.

I agree that Deathwing's death will not stop the witch-hunt, but it should be recognized because it is very closely tied to Benedictus' exposure. But it is conceivable that there will be some time before news reach the city.
As for timing, I think we wait for more Patch-info. Cinematics and leaks will give us more lore to go by.

Personally I think the day we acknowledge Deathwing is dead IC is when the next expansion is nearing or another patch Blizzard may spring on us. Keep in mind Deathwing's "Fly by flaming" in zones is to end at the end of the next patch as they are still stating its official lore until the end of the patch to come out.

I don't see why the discovery of Benedictus' treason has to coincide with Deathwing's defeat. There is a large number of conceivable reasons for why he might be found out earlier, but not in time for anyone to reach him before he pops up at Wyrmrest.
Alternatively, Benedictus might not have been found out yet, but evidence of infiltration into the higher ranks of the church has been acquired.

We didn't acknowledge the IC defeat of the Lich King for weeks after ICC patch was released.
So, just do it again. Most of the RP'ers in this community use this forum, it really can't be that hard to just say "We'll give it a few weeks to let other things play out, then we can all sing and dance about Deathwing's defeat!"

Didn't we acknowledge it on server first kill? or Heroic kill?

Re: The Jig is Up, Cathedral, 20:00 Sunday the 4th of December.
Ok, so to keep the ball rolling.
I think it would best if we put this into stages, as to thoroughly breakdown what is going to happen, and what will happen within the stages.
Stage 1; The Intelligence Stage
This can happen prior to the patch going live, so when we know a date we can start this off. This is the part that will set the stage for the future, so heres some things ive been thinking of;
Rumours - this is important, as we need to create a buzz as things kick off, this will be totally unrelated to the Archbishop as such, and will likely involve SI:7 and a few good old rumour mongers.
What i would love to see in this stage:
SI;7 picking up threads and tidbits of information and beginning to put parts of the puzzle together.
Increased guard activity, perhaps random searches and the like infront of the Cathedral, at council and such?
Would be good if perhaps both could be linked together i dont actually know how close the guards and SI:7 work.
At this point no arrests are made, unless ofcourse some level 1 random alts want to take some flak.
Thoughts? If you want a specific role in stage one let me know, im going to start making lists as to who is doing what so we know the general structure.
Stage 2: This will occur as the patch hits, and this is where it gets going.
If you want to volunteer you character as a possible suspect in this stage, message me privately so not all is revealed
What i need is some highly respected in the front volunteers to have their characters be made suspicious and interrogated by the guards and SI:7 or both. Obviously i volunteer my character for this, but i want other people to volunteer aswell.
I also need some volunteers to make alts who will act as Twilights Hammer operatives and plant evidence, cause a ruckus and such. Specifically i want some volunteers who can guide the arrests and suspicions on both an IC and OOC level, in order to keep the guards, the players, and the public guessing. I dont want everyone to know -who- is going to get pointed at and at what time, so volunteer please! I may need to clarify this bit, and it might be a heavy job, but should also be a fun one.
I am also thinking we structure a protest or event with alts and the such at the Cathedral, or infact anywhere else in the city, perhaps at council too. So ill also need people to volunteer for: Panicky Citizens, People who have lost faith in (church, council, nobles, guards) Violent protesters, and anything else you lot can think of.
Stage 3 - Chaos, and its end.
For the most part, if your character is made suspicious in stage 2, it will be up to you on how long you remain as such. This will be the part that we wig, depending on how well we feel things are going.
Ill likely add to this as things go along, but thats the general overview of how i could see things going.
You may disagree, you may have things to add.
Please do so
Also, Deathwing at this time is irrelevent, this event is going to happen for a week tops after patch, i dont think he will be ICly dead by that point. Although we do not know when this entire event will happen, i want to begin getting thoughts and feelings early, so please, anything to add let me know.

Gahalla is sort of working as one of Fort's assistants. She's very involved with the church. She's been known to socialise with various people of ill repute (been spending time with Ireth, has been on record of calling Andrek "A friend... of sorts" and many more) and if there's one group knowing she's actually a warlock it should be the SI7 (unless her friends in high places have been protecting her).
Basically... I'm game if you want to take her in.
As for panicky citzens. I'm interested in an angry citzen that would rile up people for what's "right". Such as trying to stop these vile attacks on our church (Just an example).
