I think it's hard to have a non-tragic background in wow because how would you get a shiny happy one with all those wars in the lore? Plus, finding people who can play a shiny happy family is also quite impossible. Especially when you just started on the server.

Indeed, considering the state of the world, there probably aren't such a thing as a normal, happy person. If you're a human, then either you're from the northlands, in which case you have been screwed by two major wars, undead plague, general decline, genocide and other happy things. It's almost impossible not to have had your life uprooted at one time and another, not to mention that at least a few of your loved ones are likely dead.

If you're from Stormwind, then you have had to endure the city being razed once and sacked once, probably losing you more than a few relatives and friends in the process. Not to mention the recent Deathwing Attacks etc.

If you're a human, then your probably best off being a refugee in Theramore, in which case you've had to flee your home and unspeakable horrors of the scourge, settle down in a hostile land, cut of from the rest of human civilization, where everything is trying to kill you, and that's probably the best scenario .

Yeah... Azeroth is a pretty crappy place to live in.

Here we go again. There are two reasons for the sudden change of scenery. First, I was getting mighty tired of that gray room, and second, I wanted a scene with the Baron and Arathoran being bros. So they simply went to get a drink outside. Yeah... And I don't think the joke needs any explanation. Went with the cheapest one to date - hope you're all happy .
