Ahh, I have too high an esteem of you to fear you would abuse such a system, my good man! No worries there.
Braiden wrote:The intent is to offer the option for those that wants it, if they dont the guardsmen will just administer the punishment and be done with it. The essence of the system still remains the 5 step system described in the OP, however you do have a point when it comes to added complexity. The main point in added complexity is the cross examination part, I'll look into making a simpler alternative for the criminals that may hesitate to do the whole big thing.
Hmm.. yes.. complexity "on demand" might be a good approach. I'm not sure if there is need for a much simpler system actually. If you accept to "bypass" the complexity and necessity of this system on request, then the experience gained through this system might prove enough as inspiration and frame of reference for fellow roleplayers.

Yes, very much so, learning a lot and learning it fast. Which is awesome.
Anyway, Braiden, if you have a need for any RL regulations regarding judges just gimme a nudge. I'm willing to search through my books for them, though I don't guarantee an answer. My 'law books' should cover most, if not all, regulations regarding the judiciary, though I can't assure you of me being able to find a corresponding article for your question.

On the subject of magisters, I think we should follow loosely on the British recruitment process. AKA'
No officer of the law or former officer of the law because of prejudice and such.
To become a magistrate, you must be between 18 and 70, have lived in your community for at least 12 months and be without a serious criminal record.
