[A-H] The Jewel of Dalaran (Thursdays @ 20:00)

The following message, inscribed on fine parchment scented with lavender, appears at the residences of several of Stormwind's and Dalaran's prominent (or at least well-moneyed) citizens. A few of the notices seem also to have gone astray, however, and ended up at the dwellings of more dubious folk - either that or perhaps the Lady Vale's list of clientele is not quite as spotless as she claims:

The Jewel of Dalaran, a new RP project, is open on Thursdays! A weekly RP tavern / lounge / gentleman's club inspired by Sophyra's famous Red Eclipse (but incorporating the decor of Dalaran as well as Tanarisi-style entertainment), this is something that Geldar and I have been working on for awhile and are very excited about.

Since the Red Eclipse sadly had to close its doors a while ago, and with the newfound availability of Dalaran for RP, Valerias is opening a new establishment of luxury, relaxation, and socialisation. It will be a weekly 'tavern' evening, as the Eclipse was, and the focus will remain on conversation, exotic pleasures, and beautiful women. However, as the location is Dalaran, there will be a definite upper class atmosphere (at least on the surface – shady characters and underhanded dealings may, in fact, abound beneath the veneer of respectability). It's definitely not the Blade, and I'm not wishing for soldiers in armour or thugs in ragged leather getting their muddy boots all over my expensive Tanarisi carpets!

In creating such a weekly 'event,' Geldar and I intend to provide a place for casual RP to have a chance to grow and thrive, as RP taverns have always done. However, the focus will be on a slow pace – on conversation, creativity, and an atmosphere in which people can use their imaginations. I don't use GHI, and prefer to provide a spontaneous menu, taking time to write descriptive emotes to set the mood. Also, it's Dalaran - the flavour will be very much related to the elegance of that city.



Imagine Greek hetairae or Japanese courtesans (or, if you enjoy Firefly, imagine Inara Serra and the elaborate world of the Companions). This establishment will be dripping with costly decorations, imported delicacies, and a perpetual haze of smoke and incense. There will be music and conversation and company. It's the type of place that a Dalaran mage might visit to unwind after a day of incantations, that a Stormwind noble might peruse in search of some new luxury, that a city criminal with the means to do so might escape to in order to enjoy his ill gotten gains, or that a dealer in 'rare substances' might visit in hopes of picking up a contact or two.

We would love to bring more RPers into the Jewel's staff, even if on alts who are rarely played. Vale will be running the Jewel, but we would also very much like more ladies to fill out the atmosphere. If anyone has a female character who tends toward the sultry, the refined, and talented in music, art, conversation – let's talk. A few other ladies of quality would make the project that much better. (A suave 'gentleman' or two to keep an eye on things, bouncer-style, would not go amiss either – let me know if you have one of those.)

Also, we're working on some 'themed' nights to occasionally spice up the RP by providing specific events, which may include various forms of performance, gambling and gaming, unusual consumables from distant lands, and other offerings.

If you have thoughts / questions / suggestions, please let me know, as the idea is certainly to provide some interesting RP for the community. Cheers, folks.

We open at 20:00 server time on Thursdays in the Legerdemain Lounge. Horde are welcome (we do have a blood elf waitress joining us humans - the coordination may take a little work but we'll do our best). Do keep in mind, whether Horde or Alliance, that is a classy establishment -- we don't want your rotting corpses, bloody axes, or plate armour

The Blade'll be back! (I, um, assume that was Blade.) Soon, I hope, since Stormwind RP and interest therein seems to be improving a teeny bit. But we won't be able to keep the Blade open every night o' the week anyway, so, shouldn't be a problem.

Awesome, should add to the Dalaran atmosphere. And if you have time, do come by. We should be there 2-3 hours depending on interest.

I had a great time last night (despite the murder and mayhem!!). Thanks to all of you who came to see the opening and partook of our refreshments ('specially all you Hordies, gave it a nice Dalaran touch)!

We'll be there every Thursday, and I'll be making a calendar event, so if you want to be added just give me a nudge. Will try to provide more atmosphere next week, too - last night was just busy!

Had great fun. It didn't seem very lively for the human patrons (the apparent murder victim particularly so) though, unfortunately.

It was due to some other events/establishments opening at the same night/time. -nod- Still good though, pity Garthen did not get to discart the body the grain bag way.

Hey was just gonna put this up on the website, but I saw you wanted me to not mention what date and time it takes place. But in the IC poster thingy it says Thursdays at eight bell.

Also, since Vale is of the dirty warlock class, I can give Alliance folk a quick ooc summoning. (As long as I can find a couple of other scrubs to rope into helping me, of course.) So feel free to whisper Valerias if you want to get to Dalaran - just realise if it's after the event is started and it's busy, I may not able to drop things to summon
