Stormwind Culture School!

30 december is maybe not the best date possible to start such a nice initiative like that.
I, for example, will probably not be playing wow for sometimes arround Christmas and New Eve and this will be the case of many players. Maybe better to start one week later ? (just a suggestion ofc )

Yeah you got a point. I'll see what happens. If a lot of people mention they are coming I'll leave it. Otherwise I'll simply hold it the week after.

If people can't show on said date the course goes over and over again when all cultures has been gone though. So that new people can join =) And anyone can jump into the course when they want. I'll be keeping track of who's done what parts of the course.

Good idea. A suggestion: such lessons could be a good way to solve IC issues or spread 'knowledge' IC. For example, what about a debate between the Chapterians and the Disciples about the Holy Light? Or a lesson held by Warlocks about how their magic could help the Kingdom of Stormwind, and why shouldn't it be feared? And something about Death Knights, Worgens, the Scarlet Crusade or every other topic that has divided the people IC. This could prevent a lot of problems in the future.

And Zinkle, many thanks for the ideas. I'll look into them and see what I can come up with. My original idea was mainly to just follow the culture document I've written. But the ideas you had really makes me want to do something more ^^

I petition the event to be moved one week! I don't want to miss it, and many people are away/busy/drunk on the 30th

I might do it, I have nothing to lose but my chains. Uncle Karl would be glad to know that class struggle is the core of WoW's history as well.

I'll announce a new date in the next Lion issue, as well as the first subject of the course. I'll be following my human cultures document still, but will add in some extras using Zinkles suggestions as inspiration. I think we'll have a fun time! I'll be trying to use these classes to create awareness and solve tensions between different cultures, in hopes that it will overall improve the way we interact with each others as a community.

This sparks my intrest - I have been thinking along the same lines to hols seminars about other cultures, preferably hostile ones as member of the explorer's league.

Have somebody come in from the Westfall peasantry and give you a glance at how bad the situation is there. Also try Old Timer's from Lordaeron, If only my death knight wasn't evil I'd bring him seeing as he's from before the second War.

Human cultures, Theramore, Stormwind, Lordaeron, Alterac etc.

What would be great is if you could host a trip to Kalimdor and have an Orc speak to you!

If you read here, you can see this is exactly what has been done / is what will happen (http://www.defiasrp.com/t1447-human-nations-and-cultures). It's ofcourse not done, I lack for example Kul'Tiras and Gilneas. But I still have a few weeks to sort that so.

As for Westfall, I kinda consider them belonging to Stormwinders. Will see if there is time to bring one ICly to one of the second classes.

There might be trips, I'm not 100% sure about that just yet. I want to start simple to not overdo everything and with that jeopardize it all. But we won't be speaking with hordes, no. That's against law as far as I'm aware, and especially doing it as a Stormwind Councilor well.. yeah I predict drama heading my way if I did that.

We will simply begin with human cultures. If the school goes really well I might consider taking other race's cultures. But at the same time, I think I should leave them out and give those races the option to hold a school themselves. Would generate more RP anyway, and I'm not really that good with other races cultures so.
