Groups

I am currently making different groups for the forum. Post here if you have a request for a certain group and wish a hidden forum-topic for the group. Note that not all will be put up or used, but all will be taken into consideration.

As for now, I want to take up Guard-Guilds, Alliance/Horde, and Cultist-Guilds, Alliance/Horde. I need moderators for each of these. Alliance one is already finished.

Also note these will not necessarily be the General Forum moderators. Only these specific forums. Then again, nor does it stop these people to suggest themselves as General Forum moderators.

Was thinking to add Groups and hidden forums for the Stormwind Council, and Senate, and other groups alike that. Any comments?

The only thing that jumps to mind for me is the Alliance/Horde idea. Suppose it could come in useful with matters such as the Holy Wars as well, for example. I suppose race-specific groups might be a tad far-fetched, as I might be able to put up orc-only events, but they won't be a big secret anyway.

Perhaps one for the underground/shady types? For areas like the Drag, Murder Row, Old Town (or whatever the Alliance may have), where all the shady deals and talks are made?

Aye, something alike that. Was the thought by cultist, but indeed there are non cultist shady types. Should just call it Shady Alliance/Horde or so.

Horde/Alliance should do fine, rest is overdoing it imo.

Well it was in consideration to that some people nudged me, wanting a specific forum for certain groups, so that they can spread information, yet try to keep it somewhat secretive to avoid meta-gaming (even though most people wouldn't do so intentionally, it can still happen by accident).

Isn't that easier to solve on individual guild forums and the like though?

Well, its more like, for example wanted lists between all the guarding guilds, information they need to share between one another and most likely something similar then between shady-folks.

Talking about horde/alliance. Does that include Rp-pvp?

I would assume so. As I said, I reckon it could come in useful for matters like the Holy War as well as other, upcoming projects as well.

Something to take into consideration would be that, now with the open cross-faction character creating, some might be equally eligible for more than one usergroups, so it might be handy to have a more "neutral" usergroup perhaps? Nothing specific in mind, just voicing thoughts

Aye indeed, I have been pondering over such a thing. Still trying to work out a proper working system.

Well, with the current sort of group-creating, I can think of [Horde Cultists], [Horde Outlaws], [Troll Tribes], [Horde Military], [Sin'dorei Houses]. (although there -could- be a clash between the last two, as it feels a lot of Sin'dorei work on Military based guilds).

Don't split it too much though. That would destroy the entire purpose.

I like those the best, and think at least some of them could come to use. If there any of said suggestion that is up for being a moderator for a group like this? It would mean you are in charge of accepting or declining entrance to said group, and in this case keep up to date who is an alt of who really, if people only have one name as the forum-name.

As for the [Horde Military], I'm already sorting out the Horde version of the Warcouncil (forgot the name of it! Gah me and names!). I think that being in the military its nicer to join that group then, so more people join for wpvp events and such alike.

Agreed, I'm not sure whether it would be a good idea to make -too- many groups - at least not until we're certain there will be plenty of members for. It would look a bit bad to be crammed with forums that are half-empty (the Horde one doesn't yet have any topics yet to begin with - something I hope to change myself as well).

As for the Horde version of the war council, it's called... well... the War Council. It's been considered a part of the Covenant ever since I remember it existing though.

Ah Covenant was the word I was thinking of, but that is not the same as the War Council then?

The War Council used to be a large branch of the Covenant. It's disputable whether it's still the same thing nowadays though. The last year, a lot of the campaigns fought with the War Council involved a few guilds that weren't a part of the Covenant (though always included some of them that were a part of it, too). So theoretically, the Covenant -is- a part of it, though doesn't include all of it. In case the name "War Council" doesn't suffice (because it might conflict with the Alliance name, or whatever), I'd say the Covenant will do.

Very well, then Covenant it is. (Personally I think it sounds more Hordey too, then War Council!) XD

Hence my predicament, heh. I never thought a 'council' was something too Horde-ish to begin with. Though in a lack of better names, we've always used that name. I was thinking of alternative names the other day, like the Horde Offensive or something, but such a thing will have to be decided unanimously later, I suppose.
