Completed it. I actually took multiple tries on hard mode to do the final mission. I think I made a mistake by letting the worms stay for the final fight. I don't know.

Nah, worms are good. Then you just build a few flame turrents and then siege tanks up to 150 limit that cover almost entire base. Rest is battlecruisers to take out Kerrigan. Too easy. I've even managed to do several serious pushes to the zerg base. Lost just 3-4 buildings that Kerrigan insta-gibbed. =)
I've known all this for awhile. Doing it on brutal etc. And on brutal you use banshee's to trigger her psi-storm earlier and use thors 250 cannons to stun her in place while you nuke her. Don't upgrade it at the armory though.

I've never worked out the appeal for Starcraft I'm ashamed to say! Not a big fan of the whole sci-fi theme. Is it similar to Star wars or is that a bad comparison?

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
Can't really compare it to star wars. It's more like a.....Starship troopers sort of scenario with the whole terran versus zerg thing but way better?. There's nothing like lightsabers or the such. No laser guns[Well a rare few units have it but thats it].
It's really worth playing if you read over the earlier stuff, try it. You won't be dissapointed.
There's simply three races to play as;
Terran: Humanity basically. Their standard units are marines which are guys in heavy suites and a rifle. Humans with the pew pew tech.
Zerg: Purely biological race, even the buildings are biological!. They don't have the strongest stats one on one and infact rely on numbers to win battles. They're the race that are considered "Numberless" and have an ever changing DNA structure.
Protoss: They seem to be the less numerous race but make up by the fact ALL their units have personal shields. As in they act like hit points but enemies have to knock out their shields first[It regenerates over time when not fighting]. And are the "Technological advanced" race of the series. Using warp technology and whatnot.

Nope, but it's sure as hell similar to Warhammer 40k because its a "good" rip off.
Terran Space Marines, are poor copy of Adeptus Astartes.
Zergs are poor copy of Tyranids.
nuff' said.

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
Alright so.. Got the game for 4 hours now, did a bit of campaigning.. Few skirmishes with zerg, found out that the queen mechanic is not something I like, not at all, especially when trying to learn builds and trying to polish up my micro and macro (my micro's gone to complete hell since my last RTS (RA3) and macro is still somewhat.. decent). Anyway, found out that the Protoss are quite to my liking, I like their build mechanic a lot and those Dark Templars have been responsible for the absolute slaughter of a Terran turtle in the practice league. I've already come to love them. Anyway, 2/2 practice league battles won, slowly learning the build orders, got a favorite faction already though I intend to play the Zerg once I get a bit decent.
Playing the Zerg should be good for getting very good micro, and I have a feeling they're gonna get buffed in a future patch. Anyway, my name on SC2 is Silen, feel free to add me!

Son of a bitch.. I just lost my first placement match.. Due to my own computer! No, it wasn't too slow.. It.. It decided to install updates right smack-dab in the middle and then go on and off etc..
Needless to say, I was not amused.
Anyway, banshees be hurting mez.

Dark templers were in starcraft 1.....
Wait you're trolling.
Also I can't speak for other terrans but I always make sure I have a raven before I move out when fighting protoss. Having mobile forces getting ripped a new one because you didn't bring your portable detection can be painful as you're forced to run and get cut down.
Thats the thing with dark templers. They're overpowered when you don't have stealth detection but if you have it. Bye bye templers.

So very true, they're situational as fuck but they do have a psychological effect, something which you've completely embraced
Anyway, I'm doing decent, currently #48 in my division in the Bronze League, I hadn't expected to end in some high league for now and this is a nice league to practice at. 6pools are proving problematic as are Terran whom I allow into mid-game as my mid-game is currently a tad horrendous (then again, early game's where it at). Proxy pylon + 4 WG are quite destructive imo as is Voidray rush, particularly against Zerg. PvP mirrors is all about proxy pylon + Zealot rush for me.
Thing with Terran is though that I gotta get inside their base before they managed to wall the ramp, which I sometimes only stop in the nick of time.
And my macro tends to become horrendous once I'm attacking with my voidrays, gotta use more hotkeys.
Though Ovelia, gotta ask, what attracts you in Terran?

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
When I played Starcraft 2 in beta I learned the hardway about Protoss in my 2v2/3v3 games when I fought a friend named Foyada [Evanee/Lothy in WoW] and he's a good player who took advantage of my lack of stealth detection at first as I was still learning the game as I havn't played SC1 in years and well he knew how I played and always had dark templers which caused MASSIVE HAVOC. It is because of him I learned the hardway of keeping detectors in my games always in production when they blow up or whatever.
So thats how I became invis-paranoid.
And my passion to being terrans isn't because of balance or technical reasons but mostly because I have always been a player to be human races. It's simply as. As odd as it sounds.
Anyway hit me up. "Melf" is my account name. I'd be up for a few games.

I'll be up for a few games once I get a bit more experience, I still feel like an utter noob at the moment and would at least like to be able to recognize every unit on sight, still a few that evade my knowledge.
What league are you in, by the way, or not doing ranked games?

Ah, I see, you should try a ranked game at least, good fun to be honest.
Though I find practice league to be on one hand a very good thing but on the other hand a very bad thing. I'd say the maps for practice league are absolutely horrible for people starting to play online.

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
Well, got it and finished the campaign the other day. Haven't played skirmish/mp yet.
Pros:
Solid gameplay, easy to learn and retardedly fun.
Unit quotes.
The campaign missions that isn't just nuking the enemy base.
The Thor, just the god damned Thor.
The Space Western feel.
Likeable Characters.
The Rip-offs. They do it right most of the time.
Cons:
Derpy story/The Story telling. It starts out as Firefly with Space Marines and then just gets derpier for every mission.
Battle.net 2.0
Idea-drought.
The Rip-offs. And sometimes they don't do it right.
Lack of LAN capability. Half the fun of the first game was LAN'ing with your bro's.
Blizzard writing female characters. Kerrigan, masdfashgdfashgdas I say. And I keep hearing EDI from ME2(same voice actor.) when she talks, not the Queen of Blades.
In general, I like the game. It's fun as hell to screw around with, and the campaign is good enough to pass time with and enjoy it. But Blizzard has seriously dropped the ball on storytelling and keeps adding plotholes the size of the moon all over the place.
Personally, so far I give it 7.5/10.
But this is just my opinion, man.

Finally got off my ass to finish the final missions, and just... Damn. Holy fucking shit.
I can without a doubt say this is the best told story I've ever seen in a game, and easily one of the better science fiction stories all-round, surpassed only by some magnificent one-shot stories in DS9 (In The Pale Moonlight for example).
