Re: Starcraft 2 topic
On final mission \o/. What a blast.
- Spoiler:
- Completed it. I actually took multiple tries on hard mode to do the final mission. I think I made a mistake by letting the worms stay for the final fight. I don't know. It's interesting to see how heart of the swarm will be with what appears to be a humanoid Kerrigan with the bug hair intact o_o. Obviously the zerg DNA in her remains to an extent. Oh well. All to continue in the expansion!
And I wanted Tychus to live actually. He had the comic relief part nailed while being a character to take seriously. That rarely happens.
I really want to see someone beat the final mission on Brutal mode too.
Oh and in before lolnaked human Kerrigan.

Now Lini where art though. I've been trying to grab you for a multiplayer match.
- Spoiler:

Maybe when I stop sucking at it I'll be up for a few matches. Probably as Protoss, no sense playing the inferior races. Besides, the art direction for the Zerg really squick me out these days...

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
Has anyone done In Utter Darkness on Brutal mode and what did you do?
Myself I built Dark Templers enough to block each of the bridges into a wall by positioning each one into a line so the zerg cant squeeze past while having 2-3 behind not on a hold position while the others were commanded on hold.
I was pumping phoenixes out too to snipe the detectors before each wave hit so the zerg would have been stopped on the bridge running into an invisible wall of death.
When voidrays came I spammed them non stop and endured to 3.1k kills with getting the archieve bonus done easily and retreating my DT's up to the high ground and also noting due to the excessive minerals spamming Photon cannons on the high base for the nydus worms phases!
Lets hear yours!

So guys, when I get back to Holland I might want to buy this (and proceed to be demolished by you.. I mean demolish you all!).
So kinda, like a review, how'd you say is the strategic depth and how'd you grade the game?

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
I grade the game pretty highly. Even the campaign is really replayable. The multiplayer is a dream come true in the fact no game is ever usually the same because everyone has their own styles even if there are "Builds" to go by.
I had a 4v4 game with some TNE'ers yesterday[Hi Soph] and it was brilliant. We all manned up while Burn built voidrays. Myself as terran, Soph as Terran. Burn as Protoss and Naradien as Protoss. We just kept the field at an even level until we decided to roll out as one force and steam-roll the other side.
Little did we know though that when we beat the other side [MMM spam hello] Foyada..AKA Evanee had built a secret base on the bottom right of the map on a small island with like 20 Protoss Carriers and a mothership that held out for awhile. So it's small things like that which makes it fun.
We also had another 4v4 game where it was that intensive we kept the game going until all resources on the map were dry. The variety of how games can go is so fun.

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
I approve of what I hear!
Now I just gotta buy it and find my favorite faction.. Likely going to be either zerg or protoss.. I'm very much an offensive player so zerg fits me like that though I do remember seeing a movie in the beta of two stealthed protoss units absolutely slaughtering a base.. Which is also my style, sneaky attacks, if doable but hey, nothing wrong with just grinding the enemy down

The only way you're going to let a protoss dark templers[The units you're on about] ruin your base is if you're bad and not leaving enough detection around to pick them up. I always make sure I keep pumping enough ravens out myself.
Terrans have three ways to track invisible units.
1. Missile Turrets detection.
2. Ravens[A flying unit that can detect]
3. The Orbital Command centre's ability to scan. Scan is used as a way to see area's of the map you can't see as in for example scanning an enemy base to see what build they're going for or such. In addition to this though wherever you scan will be able to also detect invis units.

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
I see.. kinda like engie rush to enemy base (targeting base building) in RA3 , great for besting noobs, a real hail mary against everyone else (but the carnage is awesome if you pull it off) and you have to be early.
Empire <3 anyway, still guess I'll be playing Zerg or Protoss, from what I've seen Terran aren't really my cup of tea.
Edit: I do like hail maries though, tactics with 90% chance of failure tend to be fun to pull off if there's nothing big at stake, but then it ain't a hail mary anymore, I guess, I suck at these naming things xD

Re: Starcraft 2 topic
Yeah, I figured them being the most defensive race from what I read in the past. Not much a fan of defensive races personally (though base creeping tends to be awesome, and a defense building outside the enemy's base early game tends to be quite a bitch in other games). But yeah, Zerg and Protoss still have my favor (leaning towards Zerg) but I could still end up being hardcore Terran xD

That was really fun. Been doing some quick pvp games as well as co-op vs AI the last few days, great to pick up and play and plenty of settings to make it a challenge (or even entirely impossible if you're feeling a little masochistic).
Generally not much of an RTS player but really, starcraft is absolutely worth playing, would have been for the campaign alone too.

- Nah, worms are good. Then you just build a few flame turrents and then siege tanks up to 150 limit that cover almost entire base. Rest is battlecruisers to take out Kerrigan. Too easy. I've even managed to do several serious pushes to the zerg base. Lost just 3-4 buildings that Kerrigan insta-gibbed. =)
