Re: No King Rules Forever
It would be awesome if that Morgraine from Ebon Blade animated Arthas as his personal ghoul <.<

AAAAAARTHAAAAAAAAAS.
He'll have kings and emperors burial! Grander!
Really, the last of the Menethil bloodline, (supposedly). Last heir to the throne of Lordaeron. No matter actions, he deserves it for wjo he is.

No doubt Blizzard have forgotten about her or changed the lore to correspond with their bad memory

Re: No King Rules Forever
Hmm...... As she had something to do with Prestor, they might bring her in the Cataclysm as they won't be able to do anything with Arthas anymore (or at least I hope). Wouldn't be nice to see Arthas as a nice truthful spirit around <.< Either that or yeah, they may have forgotten her
Re: No King Rules Forever
Personally, knowing Blizzard and their track record, I doubt we have seen the last of Arthas Menethil. That said, I expect him to be buried somewhere in Lordaeron - despite his crimes, he is still royalty. Not to mention, Tirion would have been incredibly stupid to leave the corpse of the former Lich King within Icecrown Citadel.

Re: No King Rules Forever
Arthas didn't commit any crime, if you think about it.
It was only when he was cursed that he did. *shrug* He was just trying to save his kingdom. The items you get when someone has Shadowmourne showed that he was still good at heart, struggling to pull through. He could had conquered the world in an instant but he held back greatly.

People are too dumb to see that. :[
Anyway, why do you think he ripped his heart out and hid it far deep under the citadel? Same reason as Jakins said, surely.

Re: No King Rules Forever
He "supposedly" takes his heart out to remove any last vestiges of humanity. However, it isn't destroyed immediately, not until Tirion does so, seeing "no hope" for Arthas.
Now, I have thought throughout the expansion it is hinted at (or made obvious, with the "mementos" in the SM quest) that Tirion really doesn't want to let Arthas "go". To let him be taken by the LK. He sees hope, always. He is like that. I also believe, maybe, that it's a hark back to his son, lost so long ago.
And Arthas, having "defeated" Nerz'hul in his dream state when he merged fully, has been battling his own humanity. Whether this is so he can be all powerful, and unstoppable, or quite the opposite, I don't know for sure. However, I think it is the latter. I think he truly had that last bit of humanity in him. He was an arrogant, deluded, foolish man at times. And a murderous demi-god when the Lich King.
But Arthas Menethil was a man. And royalty. And in a world like that of Azeroth, the actions of nobles, kings and emperors mean they will be remembered. Tirion being as he is will see to it Arthas is somewhere "safe" (probably cremated, with a tomb erected, a small memorial to the man).

Yep, I expect a memorial in the new revamped Undercity actually, with maybe some quests to speak with him as a spirit or something.
Re: No King Rules Forever
It'd be nice if his spirit could return in Cataclysm...but why would it?
He could have a grave in the Light's Cathedral area, seeing as how they built a huge wall around it in Cataclysm.

Re: No King Rules Forever
Yeah, well that actually makes much more sense than the Undercity now that I think of it. The Undercity would only make sense if Tirion wanted to make a memorial or something and the Humans refused to, then he'd put it in the Undercity which was his city when he was alive and Sylvanas could allow it as a trophy, but i'm fantasying too much.
Could be in the Light's Cathedral aye, but I shield from inc Drama from the RPers then
