The players behind the council members don't have infinite time in their hands. Yes, it could be better but we already invest time on the council as it is, people should show some compassion here Razz The entire community could get off their asses and start organizing stuff instead of asking those 5-6 people in the council to do even more than they do.

I think I already said everything there is to say. It's only going to become repetitive from here on Wink

Don't get me wrong but isn't that exactly what the council is for...to orginize events and maintaining order within the city?

edit: I mean that's why a council was assigned right, to make decisions normal civilians couldn't just do. I mean i'd love to orginise something but how can a one eyed poor guy orginize a giant war campeign!?

I believe so, and that is what they do imo. But it is not their responsibility only really. It is every roleplayers responsibility to either be one to make an input to the community roleplay, or just simply ride along with what does happen without your input.

Well i'm a rather casual rper and proberly one of the few rpers who doesn't have a huge amount of gold coins in his pouch..and upto a few weeks i never even knew of the excistence of the council. I've never seen a event hosted by them either and yes i do patrol the forums reguarly. Like Ath said before..SW can use some more excitement..i've been benchwarming the cathedrals stone benches for ages now..my ass demands drama!

-_-' This is indeed becoming repetitive, especially while having the same discussion in two forums. Like I already said (this is now my favorite phrase btw), we do organize events of various sorts, be it RP or RP-PvP, along with keeping up the council, the order in SW, co-ordinating guilds, etc. etc. We can't make even more events on top of everything, we're not gods. What I meant was that it'd be nice to have people outside the council organize some events as well, so we don't get overwhelmed, instead of having them all go "GIEF MOAR I R IS BOARD!!!"

@Mandui

I understand very well the amount of events you create but so far it's been for top guilds mainly you speak of exciting plots that happen everywhere..but so far i've had 0 knowledge of any of them Icly..just because my char isn't in a guild like The Dark sphere or Anethion or whatever, i joined the caravan because of my friends but it's rather unfair that because i'm not in a major rp guild that i have hardly any chance of getting involved into one of these ''plots''

...Is the council supposed to provide RP to everyone individually? How could that be done? Going around and asking "who needs RP? we has some!" >_>

We do announce events, there are calender invites and the likes. I'm afraid nothing more can be done if people don't chase the RP a bit on their own as well.

Calendar invites?...Right this proves Ath and me with the ''group of friends'' statement..and ofcourse you shouldn't go after our butts for rp but you could open up abit more not making every single plot Guild wise for example declaring war means everyonces lifes gets changed as war bothers us all..therefor allowing everyone to join with this massieffff rp fest of death and decay?
edit: War allows people to pick up there arms and fight for there city, war allows politics for everyone..it's just a example but it's something that can be done and that atleast is nation wide!D:

I think what she mean is, they give calendar invites to a whole lot of people, guilded or not, and then give mod rights to some of those to invite even more people. So the flaw ain't theirs only. It is also as much the people who -do- want to join's fault for not getting involved actively in current plots. I'm pretty sure if that was the case, people would -know- about these roleplayers, and thus send invites to those as well.

Also a reason these forums were made. As you know too, there is only so many you can invite on the Calendar, and the realm forums are spammed with PvP and PvE posts constantly. Putting up events here will give an opportunity for people new to the current plots to participate.

I agree on this, on the calendar thing tho..It's kinda lame..either forum it or just make name it ''a event for people we know and like'' I bet i'm not the only one who had 0 idea of the events hosted this way.

I hear there's some brilliant specialists about that, just look at Jaina's reforming and- oh, you meant that way, nvm.

On a serious note, the only reason people expect the Council to "be better" is that they expect everything from the council. Get yer arse to move, tbh. I've never been involved with the Council ICly in my 1,5 year of Alliance RP. Never. Not even once. Did I RP-starve? Hardly. Was I a Council-fanboi? Not really, I've bashed them where I felt they erred (some of them might even feel I've bashed them too much, thus I am their sworn enemy or whatever).

Cut them some slack already. Understand their "power" doesn't EXIST, it's FICTIONAL. And same goes for the "Obligations" you feel they should have. Stop acting like a mob. They have as many obligations to others as every Random Black-eyed Joe that roams the streets of Stormwind. They are players. Same as you want to instance and PVP and have lols in gchat/whispers, they do too.

What I'd "charge" the Council with, is the same I'd "charge" most Stormwind RP'ers with. Closemindedness in regards to RP'ers they don't know. It's fine not wanting to get too involved with people you don't know, for fear they might be morons or w/e, but completely ignoring a human in the Cathedral who's ACTIVELY seeking some sort of RP for 40 minutes, ignoring his presence completely and keeping up "group" rp between 3 people here, 5 people there, 4 people further away, ALL of them ignoring the RP'er who TRIED to get involved, is just... sad.

That night I'm talking about (yes, it was me on a lvl20 human paladin) I only found ONE person I'd add to my friendslist for actually responding ICly. Bitter irony is I didn't have to. I already knew who she was ( <3 Nithel ). She didn't know who I was, but she still responded ICly. Contrary to a rough 20-25 people coming and going from the Cathedral and not a single soul responding ICly, as if I was RPing some ghost.

Now, imagine this not being me, but a new RPer or a newly-transferred RPer.

So yeah, I am sure some things could be handled better from the Council, but stop focusing on that already. Try to make it more open for more people (not directed to the Council, but to everyone Wink ), before you miss the point completely.

Think about it.

(disclaimer: don't go "qq not everyone is like this", yeah I know not EVERYONE is like this. The majority is, though. If you're not like this, then obviously this wasn't talking about you ;p )

...oh and. StormWind Council. SWC. SteamWheedle Cartel. SWC. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! /setmode ConspiracyTheory = ON. /discuss.

Like Sai already explained, we invite 20 people, give them the ability to invite others, they invite another 20 and so on and so forth. I don't see what's so 'lame' with that tbh. If not a single person, out of the dozens that get an invite knows your character, then it's not really their fault Razz

As for the forum, RP events tend to get crashed by non-RPers when announced publicly, thus there has been caution in posting them on the realm forum. This will change with this new forum though cheers

There's plenty of excitement, trust me. You just have to seek it out a little. As for the ebul guys...they are not being open about being ebul, like they should Wink

Fact is, I do not like all people.
There is nothing forcing me to involve those I dont find intersting.
You prove your self to me, and I perhaps let you in. It is not supposed to be the other way around.
At least in my narcissistic sphere.
