I dunno, but I think we should have some thread where we thank the people who have gone the extra mile for the roleplaying community on this server for both sides horde and alliance, who ever they might be.

I'd nominate Rasonal for his relentless loyalty and personal sacrifice to organise Events for the Cult and both sides of the factions' He's done alot, and even at times when our numbers were disappointingly few at attendance, he continued instead of being disheartened and call it in.
And all the crap he's been forced to take or diplomatic swallowin' of his own Pride for the sake of everyone's interests!
The Cult owe's ye a bunch! ;>

Do we really need E-peen meters here too? Isn't the in game ones enough? 
I thought, and still think its a silly idea. The people that contribute a lot to the server know that already, and get whispers and compliments as it is. As a thread it's just asking for trouble, if you ask me. People will start to question some peoples opinions on some players, and then there's a flame-war born.

Because people have different perspective on who's done good on what. There are quite a few events, ideas, and general things that has been created, which has been good on some people's perspective, but that others has felt hurt/unfairly treated at. Which means people will start to argument. It's a nice thought, but silly and unnecessary as anything else then E-peen meters, and with a very high risk of arguments popping up.

The point wasn't exactly to get people to argue over why someones better than someone else.
More in the direction of getting people who have contributed a whole lot to the community to be appreciated and feel like that there are people who are feeling the contributions that these people are making.

It's not for individual events and that bullshit, it's for people who've really put the effort into getting things going. And frankly, they deserve thanks. I really doubt they actually get whispers complimenting them on their work on a routine basis.
But hell, I'm not the expert. Lock it if you think it's malicious.

I still think that can be handled in PM's/whispers/msn's etc really. That way you avoid all possible arguments and risks of making people feel bad cause they are not mentioned here all together.

Well I don't know about others I guess, but I personally try to compliment people on things as often as I can, and get compliments myself when I put effort into helping the community one way or the other so.

Mhm. Well, I would probably say thanks to them if I actually bothered to find out who they were. But aye, making a ''Hall of Fame'' for them would probably be a bad idea. I can see such a thing turning into argueing and flames. If you think someone really deserves a thanks, then just Whisper them or somthing. Give 'em some hugz and Cookiez.

I don't know about how surprised you are, Bennedict, but that was exactly the image I got when two people of different gender are involved and one says "I won't resist, officer, take me away"...
And I'll agree with Saihna. There's no "Hall of Fame", simply because people will be subjective, argue, post silly stuff and turn it into a Hall of Flame.
I'd counter-suggest a "Thank you" thread, if you wish, as its entire nature agrees and encourages subjectiveness.
