The blood wolves struck at Northwatch again today!
A small raiding party struck at the northern gates, they made it into one of the towers before they were forced to retreat by the alliance forces stationed in the keep.
While the alliance forces focused on guarding the western gates however the blood wolves charged in from another entrance, pilfering a small amount of supplies before the alliance forces drove them out yet again.
A small alliance party followed the rampaging rebelious renegades in order to retrive the supplies. The blood wolves however managed to get away with their price after brief skirmishes, which left the alliance forces with injuries to severe to carry on the chase.

A group composed of the 1st regiment and Freelancers ventured again to Bael modan, inspecting the excavation site this time, due to the freelancers interest in the area.
There was a brief skirmish with a Kor'kron shaman before some treasure was found! The treasure itself was all put in sacks with the intent of being delivered to Stormwind or Ironforge due to present officers claiming it belonged in a museum.

Afterwards both group set off from Northwatch by boat, in the end braving a small ambush by naga before ending up in a full out naval battle with a pirate vessel.
The pirate ship hung a banner of two white snakes coiling around eachother and according to loud yelling under command of a "captain Winters".

From the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thread:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

World Events
The Siege of Orgrimmar has begun. Late Saturday evening, the combined 3rd and 7th Fleets of the Alliance Navy set sail from Valiance Keep, destined for Orgrimmar. Above the fleets fly the gunships Skyfire and Northshire, along with their escort aircraft. The plan is simple. The 7th Fleet, carrying thousands of 7th Legionnaires in its multitude of transport vessels, will make a beach landing on the eastern coast of Durotar before regrouping at Northwatch Hold. Meanwhile, the 3rd Fleet, comprised of some of the Alliance's most powerful warships, will sail ahead to provide naval escort to the 7th's precious transports. The fleets will drive south through the main Horde fleet outside of Azshara, which is in dissaray after the capture of Bilgewater Harbor by rebel forces under General Rargnasha Bloodmark.

Contact with the enemy is made on Tuesday morning, off the eastern coast of Azshara, as the main Horde fleet intercepts the advance Alliance 3rd Fleet. The Horde fleet is under the command of Admiral Krulkar Deadmane, an orc that escaped the Alliance's clutches after the breaking of the blockade around Northwatch Hold. Deadmane has sworn to see the Alliance fleets crushed and Bilgewater retaken for Garrosh Hellscream at any cost, and is willing to use whatever methods he can to achieve victory. Cannonfire can be heard from as far as Bilgewater itself, as Deadmane's fleet and the Alliance 3rd Fleet begin trading blows on the open sea.

South of Orgrimmar, the rebel forces under Vol'jin begin making their moves. With their position now secured and well-supplied for an extended siege, they have moved to cut off Durotar from the remaining kor'kron outposts in the Barrens, and have begun marching their armies north to engage General Nazgrim's forces at Orgrimmar's walls. Naval forces from both Silvermoon and Undercity are also en route to Durotar, preparing to join the landing with their Alliance allies.

Meanwhile, Garrosh Hellscream has made a visit to his mine in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in Pandaria, intent on acquiring his new prize from the depths of the Vale's dark heart. He is confident that its power will enable him to fend off all incursions on his territory. The Shado-Pan and the Golden Lotus have moved to stop him from unleashing this great evil onto Azeroth, but it is unlikely that they will succeed...

The events of the destruction of the Vale are going to be played out by the end of this week by Wild Tempest and Blooming Lotus in Pandaria. Those who have a reason to currently be in Pandaria and want to be involved are recommended to get in touch with one of those two guilds.

As discussed at the recent War Council, the Darkspear Rebellion/7th Legion forward assault forces are considered to be your common raider. Defias roleplay guilds will be moving to Durotar as a rear guard to help support the siege within the next two weeks. Date and other details will be announced soon.

Players are moving into position. This might warm up to be the most epic, server-scale role-playing experience to date. :3

From the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thread:

World Events
In his quest for ever-greater power, Garrosh Hellscream has unearthed the heart of an Old God from deep beneath the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Though the Shado-Pan attempted to intervene, they were too late to stop Hellscream from using the Vale's blessed waters to empower the evil artifact. This act has unleashed great destruction across the Vale, and finally awakened the Sha of Pride from its slumber.

Garrosh has taken the heart back to Orgrimmar. In his wake, survivors flee to to the Alliance and Horde Shrines and to Mistfall Village, which survived the devastation. Some organizations, such as the Blooming Lotus Society and the Alliance 157th "Wild Tempest" Company, and even the Black Hand, have journeyed to the Vale to find out exactly what happened...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Individuals in Pandaria that may be interested in looking into the situation should get in contact with one of the above organizations.

ICly there are already initial raids and attacks being made, bombing the city etc (to account for OOC raiders), but it's primarily a state of siege. That is, cutting Orgrimmar off from supplies, surrounding the city, naval blockade, setting up siege weapons, etc.

Don't expect a full "invasion + Garrosh-death" for at least a month or two. We need to try and make stuff last throughout this patch, so it needs to be handled gradually.

Alliance RPers will actually be arriving in Durotar itself in a week or two.

According to my knowledge, in this realm's history we always treated server first kill as dead in lore.

Also, don't forget there's 5.5

But with so many role-players, especially on horde, wanting to make an epic story of this, "first kill" is impractical.

Actually, we have never treated server first kill as dead in lore, because in every previous expansion we have always waited for the end of the patch (or expansion) before reacting to it at all.

We're not doing that this time. We're going to actually RP it this time.

We most definitely did. I remember Wotlk, with the Lich King quite clearly. (Could've been Heroic to be fair, but server first nonetheless).

And I wish you luck finding guilds who want to RP the Siege for two months (+)

Correction, a single group of some people on DefiasRP treated it as such. Smile

Ah, the ever elusive "single group of some people on DefiasRP" rears it's ugly head again. It's funny, because many of my oldie DBers, which are really not all that active on this forum seem to remember it my way aswell. Nor was DBRP a thing back during TBC.

erwtenpeller wrote:

Aye, there you've got it: Horde. I don't see many alliance guilds doing it, considering they're in hostile territory, having to fend off OOCers, and are very far away from the main cities for OOC idling/needs.

Multiple guilds, on both Alliance and Horde, have been RPing out the buildup for several months already. Why do we need to suddenly rush the Siege?

There are plans to do some rotating in and out to account for people wanting to have time in SW. Though I honestly don't know why people care so much about being in SW, but some people like it. Either way, I don't expect every single guild to spend a full two months straight sitting in Durotar. You don't need the entire RP community to be all doing the same thing at the same time, afterall.

Yes, your group of friends. Everyone always treats these things differently, the ones included in this plot line simply decided to do it this way. I know that I myself always said that the end boss was dead at the end of a patch in order to keep RP potential up at very least, as did several of my friends, and I've been on DB since TBC. But they're just that, the circle that I was in. There's no definitive answer.
And even if everyone did it the way that you say, what stops people from doing it differently now?
