Fully agreed, craptalk behind backs should be avoided. Talk to the person straight up, confront him/her/that, but don't be a coward and talk behind peoples backs. I've had that experience quite recently with some from a forlorn guild, who was talking smack about my person in their own channel... lets just say that I severly dislike when people call me stuff that they don't dare say to me personally. That example I only got to hear about from a "bird" who whispered me about it. I decided to not take action then, but to save that for occasions like these.

As for this:

What Thelos means is that if someone finds it harder to interact with other people, that's their own responsbility and they can overcome it if they wish. We're not obliged/dutified to recruit or spend time out of our subscription to aid anyone.

If someone has a hard time interacting with others, they cannot just "wish" it away. Social walls and problems aren't that easy to overcome as you might think. If we want these people to RP, we need to work WITH them and their problems, not close them out just because people are too selfish to aid. People who says crap like that disgusts me.

We don't need to do anything. The issue I have with these threads if that people like Raenmar try and throw it in your face that you have some responsibility as a role-player to recruit and treat everyone like angels.

Here you go, here's the reality: do what you want. Don't feel bad if someone says you're being selfish because a hobby is about being selfish. Role-playing is a hobby. Fuck people that tell you otherwise! (again not being aggressive. I always come off aggressive with written words)

You can't just throw around the term elitist when it doesn't apply to the context. This is what it looks like, replace ignorant with elitist.

Not at all. It can be whatever hobby you want it to be. The fact of the matter is, not everyone cares enough to put in their free time into trying to 'improve the server'. Some people are actually just trying to have fun.

I'm a forumaholic so I can't help but post, despite how little constructive criticism I might input into these threads now, but I'm sure most people respond with negativity because of how you approach these threads.

I rp with everyone. From people afk sitting on dragons in the middle of the road to naked char's by the name of olololurafag that come running up to us. I also try to include every person into every bit of rp because the more people the more fun it is.

There is a problem on both ends imo, since even if you do try hard to try and include people (which you shouldnt even HAVE to do) alot of characters are shady and lone wolves, thus the rp you offer them is not serious enough to their taste or whatever.

Making simple suggestions got quite tiring when they got called "whining" by the "RP IS FUN AND YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!" crew.

Making a suggestion, or encouraging people to do something (as this thread has done, nothing more) relies on the assumption that there is a problem or a flaw in the community.

And when you dare suggest such a thing, everyone loses their shit and tells you to stop whining because DB #1.

To be honest.
Very few sprout the "DB #1" crap. They say "DB's good enough for me, relax and have fun".

Most are well aware of the fact that the server is "declining". They've been well aware since wrath.
They just try to just have fun with what they have.

Edit: And "RP has been dying" Since late Vanilla, which is before mytime and I likely am almost counted among "old guard" now. Even if I don't really think myself as that (Mid TBC).

I was actually of the same opinion that I am now - the people I was arguing against were trying to beat off a gorilla instead of avoiding it entirely. If I just come on to role-play and have my own fun, that may be selfish in one regard but it isn't a bad selfish decision because it really doesn't have any negatives. Whereas provoking a group that has the capability of harassing other role-players for your actions is selfish to the point where it effects others.

Lots of shit isn't needed, it can still be constructive. But no thread is going to be constructive when people come in waving their self-righteous bullshit about how their way to play the game is the way to play the game and that anyone who actually wants to spend their time helping new RPers is inflated with their sense of superiority or some other fucking shit.
