Concept:

While the Kalimdor Horde is on the verge of collapse, the Eastern Horde has not lost sight of it's war aims .The Alliance is focused on winning important resources in Pandaria in order to assist the war effort back home and stop them from falling into the hands of the Horde, however, the Alliance is also watching the Horde internal struggle very carefully - Perhaps considering to intervene in the Horde internal struggle and weaken the Horde considerably for their own advantage.

The Eastern Horde however, uneasy at the numerous reports of minor uprisings against the Warchief will continue doing the mission that the Hellscream's Watch first established in Tol Barad and the Dark Horde under Doomhammer accomplished all that time ago - The complete and utter decimation of the Grand Alliance presence on Tol Barad.

The goals of the Horde are unclear however, Tol Barad offers a grand fortress with both prisoners and relics lurking in it. Perhaps they are attempting to free a creature of some sort?
The peninsula also has a mostly intact ship yard that could be used to propel raids onto the exposed Gilneas, should Tol Barad fall then surely Gilneas will follow.

RP-wPvP

The proposed event is rather simple, the Horde and Alliance will launch the available forces they have into Tol Barad to fight out control of the peninsula. The event will be full blown PvP with a few small rules and a tightly written in-character story alongside the consequences.

Rules

Camping the Tol Barad graveyards is not allowed, so people cannot come back and resurrect.
Yelling things that can only be defined as 'garbage', i.e various obscenities and vulgar insults.
Respect those role-playing, they are not bothering you so don't bother them.

Who can get involved?

Anybody can get involved as long as they accept to follow the rule-set. The rule-set is provided for everybody without question have a more enjoyable time, these aren't to enforce things on people.

The role-play side of things

Those role-playing will obviously speak and act in-character, while nobody is forced to participate you could try (optional). Additionally each battle will have some sort of 'focus' or 'point' behind it, ideally, we'd like to have people fighting over in various parts of Tol Barad, just to space people out. In the end what will happen is one large clash, I'm not yet sure of the location but I will accept all suggestions!

IC Consequences of Victory

I would like to personally outline that this game, and especially role-play is not about losing or winning, so I'm not going to hammer home that one side must win. But, whichever side wins will gain an in-character victory that will be announced with a short story and perhaps a poster.

The IC conclusion for each side will naturally give a temporary victory over TB (similar to that of the phased BG itself) that will give them a number of IC benefits.

If the Horde is victorious the Horde forces will gain easy access to Gilneas for further campaign, should the Alliance be triumphant then that area of the sea will be secure from the Horde's naval capability.

Yes, as long as GDI is ready to obey the laid out rules. They are there to create a better environment not just for the role-players but also for the PvPer's as well. I don't think they are one sided and would only promote this battle rather than take away from it.

@Raenmar: The ships were actually sent in response to your starting the thread by saying "the situation is worsening". Due to that, I figured there was more going on than just what the reports had said.

Also, I didn't realize you had back-dated the reports. It was my fault not to clarify the date, but the ships were sent out a day or two ago (in March), not the middle of February. Arey and Arkadii discussed the Tol Barad situation yesterday as if it were currently something to be worried about, and the ships were sent in light of that. So if you're intending on gradually building up to the current date, then the ships shouldn't be mentioned for awhile.

Ah, sorry! Having re-read the OP it was really unclear. It was partly because when I wrote it I'd planned on posting all the reports at the same time.

I'll go rewrite that part now. Want to retcon the ships or leave it as is?

Edit: In that case, it might be easier to repost the ships at a later date. I'll PM you the reports, quite hard to explain.

I can remove my post and wait until the "proper" date comes, sure. Or just edit it to make note of the fact that the ships won't be sent until the 28th or 29th of March.

Also yeah, PMing the reports would be good. I imagine both Areyah and Arkadii would know the full situation already. So posting them gradually is good for buildup for the rest of the community, but our two characters should already be up to speed.

The reports only outline the situation increasing in due time, I think. That's the idea for it mostly, to show a line of Horde aggression progression yo.

Well yeah, as Vangrel said it's to outline the situation increasing in time, but sort of intended to run in parallel with RP, and then we'd be able to discuss it and act on it at the war council as the reports worsen. I was also thinking all high-ranking officials (so pretty much the GM of any guild involved, including the PvP guilds if they wanted to be a part of the RP) would have access to the reports, but because of their lack of seriousness they'd mostly go unnoticed at first.

Only problem is that I wrote the reports spanning a period of 3 months (because I'd intended to post them all at the same time so it wouldn't matter) so condensing it down to 1 month would mean travel times and the like would be unrealistically short.

I suggest this is raised ICly at Stormwind Council, whether by the organiser or through the Minister of Defence. This makes it easier for Stormwind-based guilds to get involved. Although I am invited to Northern Council, unfortunately it's always at a time I can't make it so the Disciples are not likely to hear about it through that.

I don't see a date yet. When is this event expected? We have an event coming up that involves several guilds who might be interested in this, so there's potential for conflict.

Nobody is meant to hear about his except those with vital access to these sort of things (Senators/Ministers) until it becomes n actual IC issues for the Grand Alliance. i.e A looming Horde invasion.

When it does, there will be action taken by either Connover or Irondawn.

Fear not, we're just wanting to role-play this out ICly and see the situation unfold as reports get more frantic and frantic.

Is there any date set for this yet? I'd love to join in with Silversword (Hero of Tol Barad(?), fight back the foul Horde and secure a glorious victory for the Alliance!
