Re: A Chapter From My Memoirs
You can just say you don't like RHCP.
I mean.
You don't have to write creepy teenage circlejerk stuff about it.

Re: A Chapter From My Memoirs
...It still upsets me I missed out on the mutual masturbation stage of my childhood. I was too busy playing video games.
But, this sort of discussion kind of perks my interest in puberty and how it relates to social status? I've never experienced that, but I was an early bloomer so to speak, I had chin hair at like.. 13, so maybe I just didn't get any abuse for lack of being baby-smooth.
I wonder how many of those circle-jerkers turned out gay?

How did I miss this until now?
Corleth, I was half expecting something like Chuck Palahniuk's Guts (You're warned, before you read!). This wasn't half as bad. But a great read. My highest regard being I spat my tea out and it stuck in my moustache dripping slowly on my chin.

... That was hillarious.
As for circlejerking,t he closest I've come to it would be watching porn with two friends when we were 14/15. My sister very closely walking in on us and all three fircely denying what we were doing.

That was incredibly fucked up, Grufftoof. Nothing more, nothing less.
However, I've read more disturbing things in Dutch; and we call it 'literature'.

It is indeed. I read that one day in the pub years ago. Unsurprisingly it stuck in my head. It was in The Guardian or The Observer. I'm still not sure how they got away with publishing it in a broadsheet...
But yeah. Pretty fucked up indeed.
The "great read" was to Corleth, not Chuck. Just in case you wondered, son.

Gerard Reve? No, I haven't read any of his books yet, as far as I know.
Currently reading Nescio's Titaantjes and Uitvreter. The last book I read was Harry Mulisch's De Zaak 40/61.

Yeah, times have changed dramatically on the masturbation front. I know a few women that openly admit to it which was unheard of in your days! The bullying of gays in school still happens. Kids will be kids.Lexgrad wrote:In my day you would get pilloried for anything wank related. If you didnt cum in a girl you didnt cum at all. Mind you we bullied gays and stuff too.

Homophobia shouldn't be brushed under the rug of " Kids will be kids. " neither should bullying.
Just sayin'.

Re: A Chapter From My Memoirs
People grow out of it. You get bullied in school for being ginger, for being fat, for having B.O, for having no facial hair, for anything slightly different. It happens. It isn't pleasant, sure, but it is something that occurs everywhere. Can it be combatted? Slightly, but only through education.
Calling a child homophobic is ignorant to what a child is. A child can be racist, homophobic, sexist etc and still grow up to be perfectly fine. Bullying is bad but again, these things do happen. It is very hard to prevent it. If you don't like "Kids will be kids" then "Puberty will be puberty!" is what I meant by it.

Although we could argue about this until the cows come home and how homophobia and racism, as well as other similar beliefs are not associated with puberty, but in itself beliefs taught from parents and/or guardians..
Let's not.

I've noticed that classmates have mellowed considerably the last two years.

I'm not disagreeing with Vaell directly, I'm simply not condoning the behaviour of children simply because they're younger, it's how eventually they grow out of it, by being corrected.. from parents, teachers, peers.
I still know plenty of ass holes who were racist when I was little and still are to this day.
