[SW] The End of the Chapter

Brothers and sisters under the Light,

The Church of the Holy Light has a special place in the hearts of Stormwinders. When the Second War came to an end, the holy Church donated generously to the restoration of the city of Stormwind. Light’s justice prevails, now the people of Stormwind welcome the refugees from the fallen Kingdoms and offer them shelter and support as they had once supported Stormwind.

The Church of the Holy Light unites us with our closest High Elven and Dwarven allies and shapes the soul of humanity, setting it upon a road of righteousness, justice and good that leads towards illumination and ultimate assumption into the Holy Light. The Church always stood ready to assist the cause of Good, yet when the Church itself falls upon hard times it is left in the cold.

I say, when our blessed Church falls upon hard times and appears weaker and less pure than before it is our cue to double our effort and support and set upon the task of serving the Church with Light-inspired zeal instead of choosing the path of schism or apostasy.

These schisms have greatly tarnished the name of the Church and undermined the trust of the people. Memory of the Scarlet Crusade and their paranoid and indiscriminate slaughter of guilty and innocent alike haunts the collective memory of the Alliance to this day. The Argent Crusade with their inexplicably apathy towards the plight of Gilneas, Hillsbrad and Arathor baffles the servants of the Church. Even within the Church itself, the disappearance of the Archbishop and the rumors of his fall from grace shake the foundations of this Light-sent pillar of our society.

Holy Anethion, our prophet, teaches : “The Holy Light is simple; do not look for It in theology. Take a look around you and let the whole world inspire you with Light’s Glory. Seek It out instead in beauty of the nature and the arts, the power of a sincere prayer and sweetness of a psalm.” (A:2)

While the doctrine divides us, the Holy Light itself unites us. This One, Indivisible and Omnipresent Light touches the hearts of all and inspires us to do Good and shun Evil. Each man is in a continued dialogue with the Holy Light, understanding what he can understand and seeking the guidance of those more illuminated when his own understanding falters.

The Church of the Holy Light understands the importance of this Faith and service to the Light and understands the underlying mind-boggling simplicity of the Holy Light, that is why our blessed Church is inclusive and encourages ceaseless debate over dogma crystallized in stone. It is through asking the questions, not hearing the answers, that we draw closer to the Holy Light.

I, Gwendelyn Ashborough, Holy Abbess of Tyr’s Hand, the Supreme Lectress of the Tyrrean Order and by the grace of Light Vicar of the Prophet Anethion resolve to restore the communion between the disciples of the Prophet and the Church of the Holy Light. There is One Light, indivisible and omnipresent, there is One Divine Truth in Its million radiant facets and undertones and so should there be One Church, uniting traditions, bridging differences and always asking the question. This is Light´s Will, and what the Holy Light wills must come to pass. Let this deed of the Tyrrean Order serve as an example to all and mend every schism.

I call upon the faithful Anethioneans to keep alive the flame of the Prophet´s teaching and to stride confidently into the embrace of the Church and to add your voice that speaks the righteous teaching to the voices of the Church. There are many ways to reach the top of a mountain, and each man has his own optimal way. In sharing our knowledge of the Divine with one another we all draw closer to the Light as a people.

The Council of Bishops that runs the Church of the Holy Light welcomes the clergy of the Tyrrean Order into the fold of the Church, the residents and the archresidents will keep their congregations. Bishop nominations will be considered.

Knights-shadowbreakers of the White Cross will keep the traditions of their order and continue to serve the Holy Light under the wing of the holy Church. The Order will receive proper and complete recognition after the Church is once more headed by an Archbishop.

Petition has been brought to the attention of the Council of Bishops to recognize the Monastic Order of Tyr’s Hand – Chapter of Holy Anethion and to restore to this Order the Abbey in Tyr’s Hand where our Prophet and his Vicars taught.

The Church needs us, let us not fail it. Every man must do his part for the Greater Good. United Church will stand strong against the Horde, the Forsaken and the Legion and see Universal Community of the Faithful prevail!
