While the warlock talents do indeed look a bit disappointing, this:
definitely spurs me to make my own little, long-planned Blood Prince. Go mages!
Flame Orb (available at level 81): Inspired by Prince Taldaram’s abilities in Ahn'kahet and Icecrown Citadel, this spell allows the mage to cast a flaming orb that travels in front in a straight line, sending beams that cause fire damage to passing targets. Once it’s cast, the mage is free to begin casting other spells as the Flame Orb travels. While the spell will be useful to any spec, Fire mages will have talents that improve it, possibly causing the Flame Orb to explode when it reaches its destination.

Re: Cataclysm Class Information Coming!
Some interesting changes afoot! Whatever happens, things should be even more sparkly in the expansion.
As a Mage, I am extremely envious of Spiritwalker's Grace. So envious in fact that I shall be hoping to Spellsteal it at every opportunity (please make it so, Blizzard or the goblin gets it! *points at goblin*). The varied secondary effects for a Warlock's Soul Burn look nifty and hopefully they'll add more of those kind of procs to the other classes. The Warrior and Death Knight changes seem quite underwhelming at first glance, although they are making significant resource changes to Death Knights from the sounds of it and I haven't really played one further than the starting zone, so shall reserve judgement there. As mentioned already, Heroic Leap was in the Wrath beta and while it looks cool it's basically charge with a new animation. With any luck they'll fix charge and intercept bugging on (moving) mounted targets.
I like where they're taking Rogues and Smoke Bomb sounds like a hoot. Giving them another defensive CD in Combat Readiness is a bit worrying unless they do actually reduce their reliance on stunlocking opponents as they've signalled. Being incapacitated for most of the encounter with a Rogue in BG's, World PvP, etc is one of the most frustrating PvP gameplay situations in-game. I'd much rather limp around heavily snared/debilitated with the sensation of at least being able to "go down fighting" rather than stand there helpless while getting stabbed in the back. Besides, how is a gnome supposed to unleash a defiant death macro while in a stunlock!? *shakes fist*
The switch over to Focus as a resource for Hunters could make for some fresh gameplay while freeing up more bag space with the ammo change. I'm looking forward to catching out Troll hunters with Camouflage up by firing a frost artillery strike in their direction and then yelling while pointing at them, "if it bleeds... we can kill it!" (unless you're a mage! ). The Tree of Life change for Druids would seem welcome too, especially with a new model and being able to view your toon's armour more often. Wild Mushroom could also be fun, although the idea of buffing Feral damage made me wince.
Of the Mage changes, Wall of Fog is the most appealing. Am still a bit undecided on Flame Orb -- it has to be just the right amount of swirly to tantalise my Gnomish sensibilities. Oh and shiny! Giving (frost) mages heroism is surely going to create a lot of Arena QQ too. Priest-wise I giggled at Leap of Faith. Hopefully they'll bless it with it's own unique animation; perhaps something like the target's soul becoming ethereal for a moment as it warps towards the priest for salvation. However, (Shadow) Priests getting another DoT!? By the Sprockets! I can appreciate that it should assist in your PvE rotation though, but... but... MOAR DoT's!? *begins R&D on Visage Liquification Protection Goggles*
Concerns about damage and the PvP implications are probably moot at this point though as they'll no doubt be rebalancing all the internals and so on. Anyway, looking forward to seeing what they do with those poor poor Paladins!

Mind spike, however, is not a DoT. It's not even meant to be part of the PvE rotation from what the description says. ^^

True. My face has been melted so many times by pesky Shadow Priests of late that I read the word's "Mind Spike" and immediately began waving my hands wildly in the air before cowering in fear.Nithel wrote:Teebo wrote:However, (Shadow) Priests getting another DoT!? Yeah I didn't word the rotation bit well, what I meant there is it's stated intent to provide a go to spell in situations where you don't have time to ramp up your normal rotation, so it won't be woven in most likely but will be there as a priority spell in specific situations to maximise your damage. Still, for PvP it provides a debuff that increases subsequent Mind Spike damage and the bit about dealing "shadowfrost" damage would suggest that it inflicts a movement slowing effect too, although that's not explicitly stated. Either way, it's going to hurt if it's comparable to Mind Flay on a target afflicted with SW:P, especially with a Shadow Priest's host of other DoT's eating away at you and it not being affected by a spell lockouts in the Shadow school.

Well all the worgen classes have been show but I'm so up in the air about all of 'em still ._.
make another warlock and try leveling him as demo?
make my first priest and have him shadow?
mage it up?
Consider a druid? I'd love a balance druid. ...if more they didn't have moonkin.

Re: Cataclysm Class Information Coming!
Inner Rage isn't supposed to feel kiss / curse. It's supposed to feel like a limit break or similar video game analogy. When I get to 100 rage, I go into overdrive mode and cause even more damage. Rather than hitting max rage being a problem (because I'm wasting resources I could be gaining) it's something fun instead.
We put in some of that extra explanation because we don't want warriors to feel like the right way to play is to do nothing until they have 100 rage and then start having fun. It's supposed to feel like getting a string of crits or eating a big hit or something translate into higher damage for a short time. *Gets 100 rage* *Turns into Cloud Strife* *Omnislashes(Bladestorms) level 1 mob*

Re: Cataclysm Class Information Coming!
I have nothing against Inner rage if the de-buff and buff are handled right i actually have nothing wrong with most of the warrior stuff apart from the weapon spec and mastery thing two diffrent ways to get an extra swing doesn't seem interesting to me.
But as long as they manage to make the stuff they promised decent then i have no problem.

I'd not be surprised if they fail to pipe Titans Leap through again, this whole preveiw has left me unimpressed when in comes to warriors.

Anyone here played League Of Legends?
Those frackin' mushrooms... Everywhere...
I can already see it now. Arathi Basin... No flag will not have a mushroom under it. Every point is surrounded by chokepoints... Three or four mushrooms nigh insta-gibbing anyone silly enough to try moving. OH NOES THE ENEMY IS ATTACKING.
Don't worry, your friendly rogue here will drop a smoke bomb, run inside, drop another mushroom, then typhoon people out after they hit it, and plant another one.
Balance druids just turned into ultimate battleground griefers with those flipping mushrooms, I swear.
